I wish AdV would re-issue his Alien, an earlier bone-based design that demonstrates intricate CNC milling, like the Scavenger, but in a smaller size. The truth is, the Alien is an even better design, IMHO, that fits better in the hand AND in the pocket.

I DID just spring for a polished titanium Scavenger. I was concerned that I might not like it to the tune of $700 worth, but no worries! I love it! I was afraid it would be too big (I never thought my hands to be large), but my hand fits just fine.

I love thumb studs too! In fact, I’ll subscribe, based on that alone.

Can the side shields be replaced if broken?

factory knife or not - this is a great blade - the lock the bearings - the weight - the balance - this knife is completely one handed left or right - it cuts nice - it stabs great - its almost as strong as a triad lock - a super strong finely tuned micro machine / molecular separator - the pummel looks to be designed to palm and give extended reach - it really is a jack of all trades - i cant carry it to much because my rotation is extensive - but this knife has such an undefined purpose - it just fits everywhere - i like it so much i might add cold steel serrations to the back half of the blade - i would never try this on a much more expensive blade but this one is doable

Pen is too small I carry a sharp regular pen to write wite with for about $1.50. My Fenix flashlight is 1000 lumens

I've been wearing the original boots every winter since somewhere around 2016, same pair. Wore them on a week long hike around the glacier at Haardangerviida Norway; way out past Trolltunga. They ended up wet for nine straight days, developed a odor, we solved the odor issue, and now they're still going. They should bring them back. The original boot was amazing, and they need to bring it back. I too USED TO BE a die-hard fan of Duluth. They appear to have started to gear toward hipsters, and yuppies now and it's embarrassing. They're not cheap, but you can beat the hell out of their gear and it'll just keep going.

Is the pocket clip reversible?

I'm probably going to order one of these. I really like the od green aluminum handle and satin blade. I would really like to see a better steel option though. I know this sounds weird, but I'm probably going to mirror polish the blade. For some reason I just feel like it would look really nice with the green handle and a big, shiny blade. Also just a note, I think that the lock only prevents the knife from closing. I watched another video and one of the things they talked about was that the lock doesn't actually lock the knife shut.

It’s unfortunate you want to apply one mode of thinking towards then knife. Ultimately tools have different functionalities, maybe it’s not the tool for you? Or perhaps you need to adapt to the tool at hand out of respect for it’s personality not yours.

The only thing I dislike is the color scheme of the knife. The color is very weird.

They should made it in Italian style with XL blade, 6 inches. And without any thumbstud. Heavy blade is easier to flick open and you close it with two hands or using back of your leg. Jimping is not needed. Old traditional knives doesn't have it in most cases.

You sold me on the SOG Seal XR Flipper and than you showed this Chimera comparing them and glad you did. So I watched this review and researched the WE Chimera and bought one and what a well made piece of work. Probably would not have investigated this brand if not for your review. Thanks and keep doing reviews I appreciate it. And going to try and order some of those coins. Love that Rule # 9 hope he is still making those.

Thanks for the great and honest review I enjoyed it and I bought one and absolutely love it. It is what a knife should be in my opinion not a whole lot it can’t handle. Tired of hearing its to heavy and to aggressive with the jimping. It’s well made and I think the best thing SOG has manufactured in a very long time .

that locking mechanism is a no buy for me, the unlocking mechanism is in the wrong part of the knife. I would place my thumb there and use it at the same time. Accident waiting to happen
