HVACR Service Tech
США
Добавлен 26 июл 2015
This channel is centered around Commercial Refrigeration Service Repairs and HVAC(R), but occasionally, I will drop a video around other useful knowledge I have from years of learning. I have been doing HVAC work for 23 years as my only career path. Inspired and taught by my father, I started as a residential installer at age 16, with a thorough understanding of 240V Single Phase Home Electrical, automotive troubleshooting and diagnostics, and many other things under my belt. By age 18, I was independently running residential service calls, averaging 5 calls per work day for the next 14 years. Since 2015, I've been Commercial Refrigeration. I never hire people to do repairs for me. I learn, and through trial and error, do better work than anybody I could hire. Here, I share what I know in a way you can understand

Wireless Module On The Wrong Case
YT302
I received the work order for Self Contained Reach In Cooler 4 alarming for high temperature. I noticed that both of the sensors on Wireless Module #4 are reading 71 degrees-equivalent to room temperature. Because of this, I walked the store and located one reach in cooler that's labeled as S/C RI 7 by the manager's desk and pickup area unplugged, with a Wireless Module Mounted on the top of this unplugged box. I took the wireless module off of this Cooler and wired it into the sensors mounted on the cooler that's is labeled S/C RI 4. By connecting the sensors that are detecting and reading the cold temperature of the inside of the box of RI 4, the Module is now accurately reading t...

Troubleshooting a Rooftop Condenser Unit with a Tripped Breaker and Fried Motor
Просмотров 63314 дней назад
YT301 Called out for the Beer Aisle Front half on RTU 2 reported as not cooling. I found the RTU Not running. One of the 2 breakers for the condenser fan motors tripped. Upon resetting the breaker and pushing the manual HPS, a short popped off from one of the motors and tripped the breaker again. Found that Fan # 3 is fried completely. Windings totally burned. Unwired it, reset the breaker, and...

Old, Crumbling Evaporator Coil gets washed
Просмотров 38721 день назад
YT 297 I returned tonight to wash the evaporator coil. I used hot water only and with very little pressure rinsed most of the mud that had formed on the coil off. This was because any more pressure would have destroyed the coil. The coil is very old and brittle, and actually, the coating of hard mud that covers the coil is holding it more together than the coil coil be without it. So now, the c...
Melted Wiring on E2 Controlling 3 Racks
Просмотров 83628 дней назад
YT296 I returned today, after stopping by Grainger and picking up a 3 phase High Voltage Terminal Block, and informed the manager that I would be replacing the terminal block and to not be alarmed when the racks all go down for a short period. I then proceeded and had to trace the wiring back to the breaker panel to locate the breaker. Powered it off and quickly replaced the Terminal Block for ...
Bad Sensor Causes Frozen Evaporator Island Case

YT295 MODEL - FN-12 I recieved the work order for The Coffin case in front of the Service MeatCase, not holding temp. I found the Case frozen, and that the controller had not gone into a defrost in the last 2 days, which i found to be caused by a faulty discharge temperature sensor. I forced a manual defrost and removed the ice. I picked up a new danfoss sensor from another technician nearby, a...

Where do I get a copy of the manual? I work in Colorado and that's all they have at Costco

You were good at first but towards the end TRASHHHHH.

You should carry the EC5411E motor.

There’s no floor drains? Crazy
Beer man gotta make his quota too!
Hey, in case you didn’t know, that site has those check valves in place so if you ever have to isolate the cases you can do so safely without the risk of a rupture. The check valves are piped in parallel to the ball valve you allow the built up pressure to return to the system side without risking a blowout or rupture. Another site has special ball valves that look like they are just a ball valve but they have an internal check valve. Pretty neat stuff!
Why does co2 rupture when low side is closed? Don't work with co2 but have a certification to work on it and never seen this or heard of this.
@ the pressure build up in the case will rise because of the ambient temp. The type K copper will burst if the pressure is not released in time. The only instance we have had that i have heard of is a reach-in frozen food case that burst because the case was pumped down and isolated. This case was also divided from the adjacent cases and the case temp rose high enough to allow the trapped refrigerant to build up high enough to reach the burst point of the copper. The case temp most likely reached above 65 degree
Hey man, love the videos. I currently work on kitchen refer. How much more work is doing supermarket stuff? I wanna make the switch and stop working on prep tables and crap but I also wanna see my wife lol
@johnstrh1 it can be alot more at times. Depends on if you work for a major company or not. The big ones can be busy 24/7 so when you're on call it's brutal.
Another day saved 👍👍
i think you should go back to master technician mindset
@@ValDominator plz, do explain why you think that...
Now we’re getting into uncharted territory for me. I retired when this was starting to come into play. Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks. Lol I will watch and learn from the experts thanks brother 💪💪🇺🇸🇨🇱🙏✝️
They should have check valves that check back to the rack in case pressure gets too high in the coil. Should be safe to de ice with water. Unless they didn’t pipe in the check valves.
Oh my lord.. no way that was leaking..
Glad to see you back, my guy. What are you recording with? Your phone? Or a separate camera? I admire your bravery to hold the camera while working because knowing myself, I’d drop the damn thing lol
@I_Lucid_Dreamer ahhh, "my guy"... I'm pretty sure I know who you are now. B.B. This whole time I've thought this handle was R.C. but that's awesome man. Yea I've been recording with the phone the whole time. I'm so used to it by now, it's easy to me. Every once in a while, when I'm trying to open or close a 3D Service Valve, or something like that, my hand will accidentally let the phone tilt out of the intended shot, so that screws me up. At least i can still be safe. I wont fuq with 3ph power or climb vertical ladders and film. If i cant safely film, i won't film it . The hardest part really is the time it takes to edit afterwards. That's why I don't post as much as I could. I have tons of footage in the cloud that needs to be made into content. Just too much going on with such a big family, I can't find time to do everything i want and need to do.
@ no, you were right about R.C. 👀 lol you ever think about getting a go pro? Or would something like get in the way of you working?
@I_Lucid_Dreamer i have thought of getting one. I just want to get a good quality one and they're like $400-$500 + easy. Maybe I could get one like new
You do a lot of C02 work?
why are you on call if you complain about going to a call?
@@lemoneleven2179 i don't know. Good question
❄️👍🇺🇸💪
I’m currently in hvac school in the Travis area. Any chances of giving a newbie a try?
you can use your phone to record the fans while you are in the other room to flip the breakers.
@cw5657 yeah I suppose I could have done that. The whole reason I did it the way I did was to hopefully avoid having to go up the vertical stairs again. I could have had a app to where I could look at the camera of one phone through the other phone but I didn't have that. It's all good though it worked out.
I love your videos dude, I say the same stuff the whole time im working on stuff. My issue is I say it in front of the customer a little too often lol. "What a POS!" 🤣🤣
@@johnstrh1 hahaha. Hell yea
its ALWAYS in defrost when its time to go
@@steveH384 I know, it at least half the time is
👍👍
My luck- the short would have been in the conduit between the breaker and the cooler!! Great video dude!
elude and evade both work in that instance.
Seen this before, you broke it last time but fix it today. Classic scammer
@Africanfrogs i broke it last time? What last time? How would you be able to know that when you don't even know what store, and in what city it's in? Classic Scammer eh? That's cute
get an office job. Same pay or better. Best benefits, safe, warm, get to talk to women all day. And in the morning u get that sweet windows startup sound when booting for a hectic day at the office. really crunchying that keyboard down, making money...
What sick prick decided their employees needed to hear all that noise in a walk in?!
My guess its so if someone gets called on the intercom, there's no excuse of "I didn't hear you".
You should see the filthy coils in the produce departments. New life forms are being created in the slime I swear.
The cost of insurance and licensing is fkn rridiculous now. It's like they do it on purpose to keep people away from entrepreneurship.
Its regulation. We need to get rid of some of this regulation.
Just curious what do you make per hr? And what states you from? I’m California as hvacr tech apprentice, learning the trade.
