@@fishing_4life_Kayak parking is tight, no trailers would fit. Roof rack kayak setups are fine. You can easily launch here next to the beach. You could back up your trailer to the sand ramp and unload then park somewhere else

When you’re fishing on a pier on the Ocean side there is no limit to the number of hooks. This was on the ocean side in capitola. However, there is a limit on the number of rods and lines (max 2). See T14 CCR 28.65 in the CDFW ocean sport regulation handbook. You are limited by the number of hooks when you are fishing inside the San Francisco Bay and when fishing for rockfish (max 2 hooks). In this case, I was fishing for anchovies and mackerel and not inside the bay 👍 . Hope that helps!

@@alexq316 ideally you wait for it to hit the bottom, if your net has the right amount of weight and sinks fast, not many fish will escape. You could pull sooner, but I found i typically catch less fish that way because once you start pulling fish can still escape from the bottom (the net is still open at the bottom, where as if you let it sink to the bottom the fish can only go sideways into the net). Yes the line extension is there so it sinks to the bottom.

@@hao2fishThanks I will try to let it sink to the bottom, but also have a lighter lead net so it takes a while. Perhaps I will vary the pull sometime between when I see it disappear to when I no longer feel tension on line (at bottom). I also think casting from the beach is good (if there is enough bait close in to shore) because it is shallow, and the pancake lands flat quickly. BTW, Santa Cruz has lots of anchovy now...

@hao2fish the have no monetary value maybe 25 to 50 cent a pound. They destroy your tackle, pull your arms out of the socket. 1 or less a day for me is fine. They are good cut bait or chum. It's just not 1 of my target fish. They will pull your string though.

@@hao2fish my bass pro Micro ultra lite rod, with a shimano Nasci Fc, Haven’t been targeting them for to long since I started in may it was a little hot for them but since its been cool I only had my eye on them nothing else

@@Davidsfishingtv haha they are awesome fish! Try and tie a fly on your line. The top water trout bite is great. And if you venture into fly fishing, it’s the most rewarding bite

We thought about it but we didn’t have a smaller sized engine or a trolling motor. So we were going too fast for a troll with the motor we had.

@@jameschristofferson4878 it does work well. You just need to adjust to netting fish in front of you instead of behind you. It’s come in handy on windy days to balance my kayak. I usually use in winter for crabbing
