    I been thinking about getting a Klr, just seems like the bike that would be most fun for me, being able to do both paved and dirt roads perhaps some trails, perhaps not the best as a road bike for the road or a dirt bike for the dirt, being able to do a little of both at the end of the day, i think would put a smile on my face.

    I’ve really enjoyed the Tusk 2T up front with a Dunlop 908RR on the rear (my fav). I just put 4800 miles on them both on my 2016 AT around Oregon and a good part of the Idaho BDR going solo. I’m impressed with the Tusk, still lots of life left. But, I just put on a new Tusk 2 front and rear and going to give them a go. Excited!🎉

  • @toddwmac
    @toddwmac Месяц назад

    Hello to from Utah and great to hear about the Tusk. I've been trashing rear tires on my 990 for a couple decades now, and like you I've tried them all....almost. I just put on my 1st 2 Track rear yesterday, and look forward to running it from single track to tarmac. I've gotten similar wear patterns on my front knobs for years and eventually tracked it down to times when I had done a lot of ADV rides with big luggage loads. While I had thought I had the rear preload dialed in correctly, I'm pretty sure I did'nt and lightening the front due to the rear load was just a bit was enough to get a tiny bit of bump harmonic and mess with the front over time. Just leaving for a 2000 mile mixed trip up in Idaho and hearing your review has me even more confident that this was a good tire choice Thanks for posting!

    I have these on my DR with Nelson Rigg Sierra bags. My 2 cents on the Tusk carrier: Great build quality. Very heavy, too heavy…they could lighten it. They are side specific, it would have been nice if they were ambidextrous, not a show stopper but still something that didn’t have to be. The paint rubs off the rack because they didn’t use isolators, everything just rubs. Not a show stopper but it would be nice if they did something to keep the rust at bay. I did the same with the bag straps as you did, much cleaner. Overall I like them and would buy a detachable setup again.

    Great comparison. It is pretty clear where Viking got their "inspiration" from. Almost feels like they could be made in the same factory they are so close. Curious to learn about the company. They are advertised as designed in California, but clearly, with their Adv gear, that is not the case. Sadly, while I disagree with copying someone else's work, Mosko charges over premium prices for what you get, which comes from someone who owned Mosko gear. In fact, I was an early adopter and really liked what they were doing. Now, I think they are chasing the dollar signs and not what their core was. I tried to buy some of their newer stuff, but when it arrived I just could not come to terms with the price vs what you get. That's just my opinion. I am not a business guy, just a consumer.

    Hmm I generally run 30/35 psi on my AT cause I’m constantly switching between dirt and paved roads. Been running the Shinko 804/805 They’re good at 100mph and not noisy. I can safely lean the bike way over while cornering on pavement with them and they still do pretty decent off-road … but I’m only getting about 4k out of the rear so I’m thinking of switching to motoz or maybe these next.
