Sewing a Bucket Hat
Here is a video on how to sew your own bucket hat. The pattern I used is from Sew Anastasia (her youtube channel) and sewanastasia.com.

How to I reinstall the tension button? Mine pops out when I sew. Also my reverse button is stuck
@@roeroe9775 if the whole tension unit pops off there is, i believe, a set screw that holds it on. If the reverse is stuck it probably just needs a cleaning
We have a Montgomery Ward UHT J1320. It won't stitch cleanly - the bottom stitches are all over the place. Any ideas on how to adjust or fix this? I could send you pictures by email. Thanks.
@@094487 probably a tensioning issue
Thank you for your helpful video! I purchased the very same machine at a thrift store, new in box. It was a bit seized and my husband opened it all up and lubricated it. Now the issue is that the little arm doesn’t drop into place/engage for all of the stitch selections, primarily the straight stitch. Any suggestions for me? Greatly appreciate any help!
@@megshanahan Im sure its a lubrication/cleaning issue. The little arm you speak of is probably the cam follower. You may have to take it off to clean it better. First just saturate it with triflow. You can never clean these d machines enough. Thanks for watchin
😍
All vehicles have built in bottle openers. that little metal loop on the body that the door grabs to stay closed. little southern secret.
And yes, I did pick up the bottle cap!
In 1978 I was working at Montgomery Ward and bought a model URR 1273. My machine looks to be the same as this one but I don’t have the open arm bed. It sold for $99.88 and I splurged another $19.98 for a carry case that works as a sewing bed. It came with a 20 year warranty on the sewing head. Today I’m still using this machine. I can’t even guess how many miles of fabric it’s sewn. Love your video.
@@connied3309 thanks for watching. I definitely am impressed with these Montgomery Wards machines. They are very well made and durable.
Wait this is funny
Literally the cutest most bestest dog in the world
I have also same as it but i dont know how its work actually i try to use but i have some issues like the thread was getting broke when i start the machine can u help me fir that machine
Mhina maquina não faze zigue-zague e dessa mesma queria saber porque so costura recta me poderia ajuda um abraço desde Brasil ❤😊
I filmed this in my backyard with my Galaxy s9 plus in the super slomo mode.
I imagine without reinforced eyelets (most trainers) those cheese wire like laces may cut through the holes particularly near the top of the trainers
Here is the link to the pattern I used anastasiachatzka.com/products/bucket-hat-pdf-sewing-pattern
Give it a few more weeks champ
Yeah this weather is very not spring like at all think we’re losing that part of the season this year
Hahahah😂
Hmmm 😂😅
looks super cold
a customer just dropped one off to see if I can get it going again, NO I'm not an outboard mechanic but this is the 3rd one that's been in my shop in less than a year.
She said Nope ... you keep what you kill. Go get the fire started.
Haha thats about what she thought!!
Not sure of the differences between that model designation. As far as the tensioner goes, this particular machine I just had to clean between the discs so I never had it completely removed. There may be a screw or bolt on the other side. I cant remember and no longer have this beauty any more.
Thanks for the great video! I recently was given a 370 j-a1, do you know the difference between the a-1 and the a-2 that you have? Also, I couldn’t figure out how to disassemble the tensioner to clean it out, any tips for me? Again thanks for the video, there aren’t many on this machine I can find.
I just purchased this same machine at Goodwill this past week. My feed dog is the problem. It would not advance the fabric, and I messed around and swithed the dial from sew to darn. Now i can't switch it back. I wish you could have shown how to get to the bottom and get that feed dog gear to work. This is something I would like to learn, how to clean up my own machines.
At 7:31 on the video I show the feed dog drop mechanism and how to clean it. Its just a matter of cleaning and oiling these machines again and again. Youll get it ! Thanks for watching
I would like to see how to do zig zag with it
dude man put a bandaid on next time you have a fresh still wet cut
Ha ha! I aint got time to bleed
Great video thanks ! I have a 1960 3 hp also
How much ice do you got?

How about, Nora get me a beer!
Now thats a useful command. Cept I got tap beer.

Awesome video that 90 runs smooth
That would make a interesting house cat! You think River would like a new companion 😂
Thats Rivers country cousin she called to harrass Nora when shes hunting.
Where did u have ur knobs turn to for the zig zag stitch. I have that machine it was a gift in 1974 from my dad and I still use it.
Set the first knob to zig zag and the set the width to however wide you want it
Thank you so much.@@Mesagsp
Your father gifted you this same machine model in 1974? Good to know. 50 yrs. Yep, good to know. I'm going with that because I purchased one on Wednesday and have been searching for an age indicator. 😂😂.
Hey we just picked one up but we can't get it to unlock (tilt) and I'm not finding any information on how it's supposed to work. I see yours is tilted so you must have figured it out, can you post a video of how to tilt it up? Yours was tilted at the beginning of this video after you clamped it on.
These motors dont have a tilt lock. They just go up and down like a hinge. Yours might be overtightened or seized
@@Mesagsp thanks for the reply and a great video. We found that the one we have does lock it has to be in the correct position to unlock. Maybe ours is a little different model. Again thanks for the quick reply.
@@jc0d67556 Thats interesting to note. They maybe made some subtle changes on those models. Glad it worked out
Nice Motor in Video!
Thanks!
Dog went YEEEETT😂
Pain to fix but damn if those selectric lower units weren't super slick.
What kind of motor
Where are you? I have one that has issues with the bobbin holder but otherwise seems to work, also got at a second hand store. I needed a zigzag machine
In Minnesota
Goodwill rarely does a good job shipping heavy machines. Getting one to you undamaged seems to be the exception. I should know. I speak from experience.
I got lucky on this one as they did a good job.

Hi i just found your channel and was given this machine a few days ago I've never seen this one before mine runs but wont sew it just stitches in place i don't have the manual i did clean a lot of old grease and lint but still wont move the fabric forward any suggestions? Thank you
I use Triflow solvent/oil for cleaning old machines. You judt have to keep cleaning the feed dog area. The reverse lever and stitch length dial are also key areas to clean. The one with theses kenmores, they are never broken, only dirty or stuck
Thank you l have heard of triflow ill give it a try
Gotta love it.
Nora has become a very lovely girl. You must be so proud.

Do you know approximately how old is this machine? Thank you
I think it was made in the late 1970's
