Wow! This is beautiful. You do great filming work.
My Oregon splitter also has a stupid tongue jack. It pivots out of the way for transport, but has no height adjustment. You have to hold it up, pivot the jack out of the way, then lower it onto your hitch ball. And they only offer the 4 way splitter on the weaker models.
whereabouts in WI are you? Fox Valley here

sweet. mind if I come out and snag some (free) firewood? :D haha
@@keemez lmao 😁
Vice nice mods
Cool
Wow. Amazing. They’re working in Auto Sound mode?
Yes, they are in auto. And well worth the investment.
For 6,000 it should have came with a 4 x splitter
Was you just running the stock whiskeys from the radio?
6,000 for this splitter.
Is that a RCI 2985dx on the bottom.I have one and thinking about up graded to the RCI 2995.
They are both 2995 it's just a backup.

Thunder DownUnder John 106 from Geelong Victoria, he is booming into the USA, and the Mail Man is there too, but where is Super Squid or BullDozer ?
Now that splitter costs $5,800. Up a lot from the $4,500 you paid. Courtesy of inflation. Great video, thanks!
looked last night its now over 6k
I have a swisher 35 ton and the knuckle heads did the same damn thing about the tongue. I think I know the reason (you spent $35. retail on that crank That $35 is key). Back in the 1970s, Ford spent some money trying to decide if they wanted to put Stainless Exhausts on their vehicles. They came up with $25 as the factory cost increase to produce. So it'd add five times that at retail. Every nickel spent at the factory ends up costing us a quarter at retail. So the penny-pinching bastards in marketing said no. It violated their price point. I bet you that nickel that's what happened at Northern Tool.
Thank you for the tips I saw a splitter from rugged split and this one the pricing now for this and that one is about the same I know now I am not getting this one especially hearing about their customer/engineer jackasses. Thanks again for helping.
What for Antenna used you for this contact?
Thank you for the awesome Video. We appreciate your business, Please call us anytime 7 days 7am to 9pm if you need anything
NUMBER ONE
Chinese Splitters , those Chinese people do 90 % of the job they just dont bother to finish it . sort of a prototype machine , and these are one of the better Chinese units .
RCI 2995 Does it come with Echo bottom
That's why you dont buy a splitter from northern. You spend a lot and they get the little things wrong but it makes a big difference. I made my own and it has served me well for 15 years.
Nice love that accent lol
Do you have a video of putting the plow on the frame? Curious how you do it without dropping it and losing a finger!
I have a Ford F-350 dual wheel drive non 4x4 could I put a plow on it ?
you can put a plow on most trucks. but a dually non 4x4. 2 problems. front tires are not digging. rear tires are splitting rear weight x4. do you have a locker manual or electronic. so now you drop 1k of weight 5 ft forward of front bumper so need 2k of weight over rear axle. very aggressive rear tires like kelly safari mud and snow, wrangler duratracs, or many other soft compound large lug tires with massive tread sips to increase grip. now your gonna do the job but at what risk? get that plow hung up on a pile drop a tire in a ditch game over. gonna need a bigger truck and a kenetic rope to maybe get you un fudged. yes can be done but really a 4x4 f250 regular cab is more than enough to make bank.
@@scottoneill77I was thinking of using shown chains double wide..each axle which I have ,couple tons on the ass end....only my driveway ...or buying a tractor and getting a rear snow thrower...which would work better....never plowed before allready got the truck
I'll take one
A metal shear looks better anyway anything relevant for you okay.
When one radio isn't enough.
I could use the table. I have two 42 ton northern tool splitters and the logs coming off the splitter do some major damage to the arm that that lifts and lowers the splitter.
Great video thanks for the shout out! Looks good have fun!
Nice metal cutting saw, I am going to look into getting one, possibly a battery operated one. Thanks for the demo.
Nice mods, good job, thanks for sharing
Thanks Jim..
Where did you get the catch table?
He built/constructed it himself.
How did you get the catch table?
I made it.
How is the splitter holding up, any problems?
Still working good, no problems, happy with it after I made the changes.
should have bought a rugged split 37 ton
Nice job. I have a first gen. 30 x 5 with 13hp Honda. I re-engineered some things. People mistake it for a Timberwolf. Basically ended up with a great splitter in the end. Good to have some skills👍
Same machine here....the older ones have a thicker beam...the 13 hp honda was paired with a halidex 16gpm pump...the hydraulics were all prince with 3/4 inch hoses....I put a 28 gpm pump, a 37 gallon hydraulic tank, 7 gallon steel gas tank and 3 x4 table grate on the front. Made it towable on both ends ...and not to mention the size of the drop leg in the front is huge on these old ones.

Good job on the upgrades
I know it ,it’s like u gotta spend 12 grand to get a log splitter that somebody really thought of every detail ,to make it great ,and that’s a ton of money
Good review but I have to say you might shop next time. Just the name of Northern Tool says Give Me More Money!!!
For not much more than $4,850, you could’ve got a Wolfe Ridge with a hydraulic 4 way wedge
No wolf ridge wants 6500 with hydraulic wedge. Its a joke. 6500? PLEASE
@@eatricez33 I personally bought a rugged made and have no complaints
I looked at that northern splitter, the ruggedmade and a few others and the only thing I could see myself doing was cutting off the entire wedge and redesigning it. For that kind of $$$ I want a removable, interchangable wedge that's hydraulic adjustable.
Amazing video
Get rid of that cord my man
Well what do you want fr a company that wants to make as much off something as they can get and have it made in china
I understand the importance of making a profit, but in the long run making a better product will make you a larger profit. The splitters are made in Minnesota, but like I said they could of done a much better job on it for very little extra cost. Thanks for your comment.
Looks like they need to actually, hire someone who splits wood to work for them
My hometown!
He must really like those radios to have 2!
F*** what did he say?
What kind of call signs are you using? It dosen't sound like amateur radio.
Well using 100/50W on 11m it should not be big problem when band is opened right?
Nice Congrats for your setup !
