I remember being the QRF in NTC and during the invasion in 2003.. Was weird cuz only that one Sargent ran you unless you were called up.. Yes there is a base security aspect , but most of the time we set up Epw camps , did interrogations, reconnaissance for the enemy, gave Eod locations for artillery rounds, chemical reaction team.. We moved the pack forward , were on call 24/7 ,, many security missions , ran with many different Special operations guys , many different countries militaries.. Many Many missions .. We also could do our own thing. Was the best job I ever had and the most depressing.. It was not just sit in a base ,,, at all ! .. There was no bases when we got there , as a team we took over Fallujah,ramadi, hiditha, Al Asad , al rutbah and had the biggest area with the less amount of people that there was in the Iraq war .. Base security lol...that's more a detail or the Mps.. We did run the base if we were on it tho.. F what they think
