I am running tj dana 44 in rear with disc's and stock xj in front. Oh, 33s, winch, heavy bumpers and so on. The biggest improvement was the addition of Black Magic brake pads. Stops like a regular vehicle now. Another option for XJ owners.

Never had a problem with overheating. Not sure why this gets pushed with XJs

18:56 To run the upper drag link mount the passenger swaybar link does need to be relocated higher, but a bigger issue is that by moving the drag link point over the axle, it then requires the axle side trackbar mount to be relocated Over The Axle (OTA) with an aftermarket mount. This is when a WJ conversion requires considerable planning as there are several modifications required to benefit from both the brake and steering upgrade. I have run WJ brakes on my '91 XJ for 10+ years and it is absolutely a worthwhile upgrade.

I want to do this to my xj but I have yukon spin free locking hubs. Just wondering if that hub will work with this swap… guess I’ll be finding out.

I have a 94 sport and it was overheating when I got it so I pulled the bottom hose off the radiator and took the thermostat out and I stuck a garden hose on full blast in the top where the cap goes for about a half an hour then I stuck in the thermostat housing for about 20 minutes then I put it back together and put some Preston cleaner in their ran it for about a half an hour when I flush the whole system again and put antifreeze in it and I've never had a problem since

Hey TDXJ, great video! I have the exact same issue right now. I found an old XJ D44 for my 2001 XJ, but it didn't come with the backing plates. I found some non C-clip D35 plates and need to enlarge the holes. I have a question--what brand of hole saw did you use? It looks like they might be Milwaukee Hole Dozer but I'm not sure. My tj iverheats only when at idle with thr ac on.. and it isnt all the time.. um stumped. New radiator, new thermostat, new water pump, new serp Belt. New idler pully and new tensioner

My 1990 Jeep Cherokee 5 speed had no problem pulling my 21ft boat to the lake and back in the middle of 110° weather in Vegas . I would not shut it down after stopping . I would let it idle a bit to let it cool . And if available I would use a garden hose and spray the radiator. This was when the Jeep was only a few years old .

DO NOT remove the thermostat, too much waterflow will cause your engine to overheat, because the coolant isn't going slow enough to soak in and transfer the heat to the radiator gut the thermostat out if you cant get one (if your on a trail/side of the road), you need flow resistance to slow down the coolant so it can move the heat properly.

I don't have any plans to sell my XJ, probably ever. 1999 XJ pretty clean, not perfect, but it runs perfect, and hauls my trailers, and has no downside for me. I love my Jeep. I have only. 4K into it, but have no idea of what it is worth, but I don't care. NOT selling.

When you have a knock sound on extreme turning - which I believe must be the upper ball joint 'popping' - so I replaced the top one only with new, but still 'popping' even though everything looks square, solid and tight. I don't fully understand how the top ball joint works, but I also replaced the tie rod. Inspected the axel also (left side) and I do have new U-joints. I have not replaced them yet, but they seem very solid, no play in anything. Very weird that I still get a popping that you can feel in your left foot when turning on hitting a big bump. Any suggestions on what the check next? I am pretty capable and. have all the right tools to change out anything.

My 98 f150 xlt 5.4 Triton to turbo charged 4bt start to finish was $6,738.44. For $5,000 got the 4bt, $1,738.44 in parts. Runs great has been for 70k miles. I have done a bunch of these.

An aluminum radiator will solve your overheating problems, put one in my 91 cherokee. I can drive up long drawnout hills and never reach 210 degrees.

You know you forgot one important ingredient. Cherokees came with a one row core. Change it to a three row making sure you keep an air spacing between the evaporator or any oil cooler in the front.

Wj and xj use different lower ball joints.
