I recently got introduced to Margaret Bonds playing the Montgomery Variations, and this is a great performance! Thank you for sharing.
oh my god
Hello, do you have any music scores?I really enjoy your performance❤
Bravo, Nathan!! Imaginative and inspiring, and presented with your typical verve as always!
Thanks so much, Dan! Your words are so encouraging
Beautifully played! Can you share what audio/visual was used for the recording?
Thank you! I wish I could, but I hired an audio engineer for this and I have no idea what he used. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Love it, Nathan! That’s one of my favorite songs. Listen to the version from Joe Sample and Lalah Hathaway. Merry Christmas, Nathan. I hope this first semester has gone well for you.
So tender and peaceful and poetic. Really lovely, Nathan, short and sweet and soothing.
Bravo! A fresh and convincing performance of this Bach keyboard gem! The first movement bubbles with joy, the second brought tears to my eyes with its tenderness and beauty, the last movement so carefree...and every note clear and accurate and alive with its special articulation. Cheers!
How lovely, Nathan! You have an excellent command of the keyboard plus the heart and soul of a poet. No wonder I find your performances so very artistic!
this is so awesome
Congratulations, Nathan Cheung, for an absolutely captivating performance of this early work of Chopin! You bring to these variations an outstanding artistic talent, a delightful imagination, a wide palette of pianistic colors, excellent keyboard facility and fine pedaling. The result is the most interesting, dazzling, joyful performance of Op. 12 that I have ever heard. Thank you! I will be smiling for the rest of the day...and hoping to hear you play more Chopin!
Thank you, Virginia, for your kind words! It means so much for me to read your detailed comment and I'm so glad that you found something valuable from this performance. This is a piece I continue to cherish and perform, and I'll keep your words as inspiration whenever I do.
What a lovely response. Thank you and all best wishes to you, Nathan. VHB @@nathancheungmusic

O my word. I am happy for this faster arrangement. Yet, could you please slow it down just a little bit, then it would be perfect?

Even the ice-cream man (free ice-creams by the score) Instead of shouting Butter Pecan one look at me he shouted Amor. All over town it went that way Ev’rybody took off the day Even philosophers understood How good was the good ‘cuz I looked so good! The poor stopped taking less The rich stopped needing more. Instead of shouting no and yes Both looking at me shouted Amor. My stay in town was cut short I was dragged to court. The judge said I disturbed the peace And the jury gave him what for! The judge raised his hand And instead of Desist and Cease Judgie came to the stand, took my hand And whispered Amor. Night was turning into day I walked alone away. Never see that town again. But as I passed the churchhouse door Instead of singing Amen The choir was singing Amor.
A fantastic initiative!
Thank you! Looking forward to learning more of works!

So cool! Now you'll have to write an etude for four toes and no hands.
Hahaha now I'm quite tempted. Thanks so much, Margaret!
Great piece, Nathan!
