Interesting to see these comments regarding 2018 and beyond Crosstrek’s/Impreza’s. Seems like cheaper manufacturing with time because my 2017 Crosstrek with 70k miles; zero of this and I’ve taken it through volatile weather countless times. Runs like a champ and that’s after I bought it at 31k as a rebuilt title following a front end wreck! Doesn’t burn a drop of oil

Just spent 5 hours playing around with various things in my 17 impreza sport suspension. Finally, after almost giving up. I put a wrench on the top hat nut and it was spinning! I was able to get it tight with an impact and solved the issue! boy am I relieved.. As you mentioned it was a scary noise. After cleaning upI sit back down and look on my google search I had open and see this video. Damn, it would have been nice to find before. I will let you know that in my search to diagnose the issue I came across Service Bulletin 05-62-18 which details the fix for the water penetration of the strut seal. You are right they redesigned the seal to fix this issue. If you look it up it runs your through the steps to clean things up and make it right. Good thing the problem was on my driver side where the top hat nut wasnt too corroded. The passenger side nut I cant even get a fitting on it but maybe after some wire brushing I can get it off and get rid of the rust and put back together clean. Cheers

My Automatic 2018 Impreza sedan has suddenly began turning this icon on and off at random along with the check engine light.. that does not blink. Got her brand new back then and never knew this existed until it came on a few months ago. I'll try your suggestion, like many on RUclips, but I've yet to find one for an automatic.. only manual. Do you have some info on this issue?

I just repaired mine. I bought my 2018 second hand. The total cost was aboyt $30 and took about an hour. It looks much better.

It's just stuck in there🤣..... so i just found that you missed another step. There's a screw at the bottom of the tube holding in the damper rod. I've been pulling against it all this time🙄

One thing pretty awesome about these cars is that you can use a single or dbl din radio with no dash kit at all bc of the factory brackets from the old radio. If you prefer a dbl din just simply unscrew the bottom pocket. I installed a touchscreen in mine by doing that.

I noticed that the top of my struts were rusty and there was even water months ago but I didn’t think it could cause problems. The struts are 2 years old and there’s a clunking sound now.

Love these bikes. Mine had a full Muzzy exhaust. Sounded large due to the big headpipe. Even with big mufflers the headpipes make most of them sound similar and frappy.

gotta 2011 with 5k miles, was already crashed twice once by my dad and once by my brother, so now the clutch is partly stuck and the throttle is very touchy and engine breaks hard as soon as i let off the throttle, so much so that I barely have to use the actual breaks
