Mazda 2: Oxygen sensor vs. Air Fuel Ratio sensor
This video help me a lot, thank you 🙏
Hello, I have a Mazda 2 1.3Lt FROM 2009 and every day when I start the engine it gets cold, the engine shakes enormously for the first 15 minutes then the engine runs normally, later the engine actually runs at low speed. I have already replaced the spark plugs, replaced the throttle body, cleaned the air mass sensor, changed the valve oil control sensor, air filter, cleaned and checked the injector nozzles. The car has 181,457km on it, I also cleaned the oxygen sensor and nothing. I don't know if they will be PCV or EGR valves. I don't know what any help would be helpful. Thanks
hello sir, I need help please, I have a car like Mazda 2 from 2009 1.3L and every morning when I start it the engine shakes for the first 10 minutes, after the temperature becomes normal and for the rest of the day the Even if the car is turned off and restarted, nothing else happens. The next day, when I start the engine again for the first few minutes, it shakes a lot. Do you know what the error is?
I have a similar issue...I am thinking it is the PCV valve but not sure
@@jwc4226Thank you , I Will check, here is the location please ! of this part ! PCV valve ! thank you Sir
Some people just should not post videos telling others how to fix anything, and you are one of those people. Every step has to be followed. They are all necessary in completeing the job properly. You obviously don't have a clue about working on cars and probably had overheating issues with this car afterwards. You don't sound confident with yourself and the work you are doing to this car. NO WAY IN HELL WOULD I FOLLOW YOUR ADVICE FOR FIXING ANYTHING. Stop misleading people with hack-job videos.
Is there any place where I can get these pictures?
Hvala
Thankyou
Terrible design by mazda. There's no room on the left side to do anything.
Where is the PVC valve on these. I think it is behind the Intake manifold. Requires the whole intake manifold to be removed?
Pvc valve?
god bless u
Greetings, thank you. I've found your videos very useful. I have a question, I have a Mazda 2 DY, with the 1.5L ZY-VE motor. I am wanting to be able to clean the MAP sensor but it seems to be positioned on the intake manifold in such a way that makes it impossible to remove the sensor easily. How can it be removed to be able to be cleaned ? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you so much
Thanks for the video. Stumbled on it randomly after looking for knock sensor problems, but it turns out, I changed the coolant the day before following the mazda procedure. The blind cap was a very hard to remove, used some pry tool and both fingers to push it from under. Would have been easier by removing the air filter case. So mazda did not tell us to put temp to max, but do a engine revving at 2500RPM for like forever. Only did one cycle and coolant never moved. Driven the car to work and back, 30km. After the video, I went to check the coolant reserve and it was almost empty! Filled it back to full and I guess I'm close to 5.1L for the MTX. Will check again after another ride to work. No overheating ever happened.
Is it hard to remove the inlet to get to the knock sensor ??
Terrible videoing
Pcv valve location?
I need to know how to replace ks on mx5 2007
Where is the fuel filter on this car I have Mazda 1.5 dynamic 2007 model can't find it .
Assuming you still need help; its under the back seats!
By the fuel tank inside ?
mine is saying snow all the time on a 2.0 turbo, doing the same your doing good vid
Hi nice description on the PCV valve. I think my mazda 2 has blow by. When i open the oil cap during idle there is a lot of air pushing out but if i remove the dip stick theres no air pushing out there. There is also no smoke. Could this be my PCV valve? Or is this just normal?
I noticed air/pressure coming out of the oil cap too Would be nice to know the explanation
Seems Mazda or Ford is keeping some information hidden.
Very useful video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Where is the power steering fluid tank?
There’s no such thing there on 2011 Mazda 2…power steering there is done electrically..There’s no power steering pump/tank or any of that hydrolics
sometimes i watch this video to relax
where is the PCV valve?
Behind the intake manifold. Watch the second half of my vid: Mazda 2, Some facts and considerations. I talked about PCV valve in that video.
Please help me. Are you saying my mazda does not use an 02 sensor?
Only the rear sensor (after the catalizor) is oxygen type.(narrow band). The one in the front is an air/fuel ratio type of sensor(wide band). Watch video from Diagnosedan where he explains the difference between the two.
any idea where the TCM is?
What a terrible system Mazda has for replacing bulbs. Thank you for this video. By the way, be careful not to touch the bulb with your hands. The oil from your hands will make the bulb burn out prematurely.
I looking for autodoor lock censor at ceratain speed..mine is not working.
hello! I have the code p0327 when measuring voltage between the plug that comes from PCM it only gives me 1.3V
Where is the ignition distributor? could you give time stamp aswell please
I'm guessing it's somewhere at 2:01?
There is no such thing as ignition distributor..each spark plug has its own ignition coil
I just changed the bulbs on my GFs mazda 2. This vid was helpful. Thanks for posting. I had no luck getting the plug off the back initially. What I ended up doing, was just pulling the rubber boot back enough to reach in, undo the spring clip and pull the entire connected plug/boot/bulb assembly out. Then I had plenty of leverage on the plug and disconnect.
Ĺ
Hello , does the same measurements apply to mazda 3 bk ? I HAVE A KNOCK SENSOR PROBLEM BUT ON MAZDA 3
Yes, it does..but keep in mind that when you disconnect the sensor, the voltage that comes from the computer may even be as low as 3,2V and still that’s fine! As long as it’s not close to 0V, everything is fine. 🤷🏼♂️
@@zvonimirbobic1093 Thank You for the reply !
Pozdrav Zvone..
@@zvonimirbobic1093 thank you man, I'll rip i to it and inform you how it went. Againg, thanks for your reply.
Thank you. Did everything like you said except that i dont have a monitoring tool, and just a simple funnel, the problem is, that tha radiator fan didnt turn on even after the thermostat opened and only 4 liters of coolant went in... after the thermostat opened, had to turn off the engine cause the coolant started to spill out from the radiator. Now i am unsure that the bleeding went ok
are you sure thats the knock sensor connector? ive seen another vid where the guy says its the starter connector
Sure 100%..that guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about
Yeah it's the knock sensor one. I just found that someone had put a new knock sensor into the gearbox bolt hole instead of replacing it because the manifold has to come off. The shit people will do to save money lol.
Have you got any tips on replacing the Parker globes?
Nope 🤷🏼♂️
Are you asking about the small ones at the edge? Because I want to know the same thing.
Nice video. Thank you🙏
Hello my car is burning oil and I run 10w40 could it be the pcv valve theres no smoke and it isnt burning it fast like every 1.5 Months i have to fill it back up
Maybe it’s leaking somewhere☝️..but, yes. Could be pcv
Thanks for the help. We were struggling to get the bulb clipped back in and the owner manual wasnt very clear. Its better to see someone do it!
Your videos about Mazda 2 fixes are amazing! Keep it up! I don’t have scan tool. Am I risking overheating the engine without one? Are they cheap online? Can I know without the scan tool that measures coolant temperature that the coolant is circulating in the radiator core?
Any basic/cheap scantool is capable of showing the ECT pid, that is, engine coolant temperature..there r two main reasons for the coolant NOT circulating through the system: bad/inoperative water pump and stuck closed thermostat..both will cause an overheat problem.. the coolant temp. rises too high
@@zvonimirbobic1093 my friend ..what I really need to know is will I be able to flush and then bleed the cooling system in my Mazda 2 without checking the coolant temp? I don’t think the cheap OBD2 modules are very accurate anyway.
@@zvonimirbobic1093 I scared of doing damage to flush and bleed the cooling system of air with having accurate coolant temp reading?
@@anthonykennedy7093 I personally would NOT feel comfortable doing it without knowing what the temp of the coolant was!!!..at 212degrees Fahrenheit (100C) also the radiator fan should turn on and then the temp should start to drop..what if from some reason the temp rises far beyond 212 degrees and you r completely unaware of that..your engine is bye bye..it s not worth that risk..purchase any ANY scantool..I guarantee you they will be able to read accurately the ECT pid👈👍
@@zvonimirbobic1093 thank you I purchased a cheap reader and I’m using torque pro lite. What coolant did you use? Mazda specify FL22 coolant but in Australia it’s 5 times more expensive than other coolants. I think Mazda want no silicates and no borates in the coolant. Is that correct?
Where is speed sensor?
Vehicle Speed Sensor(VSS) is mounted on the back side of the transmission, where the drive shaft goes into it..near the bottom engine mount
Hi there, I have a mazda 2 and when the engine is running it has a constant ticking noise, you can not hear it in the car but when you lift the bonnet. Can you tell me if this is normal for mazda 2 cars please.
Could be the valve lifter noise☝️🤷🏼♂️
I got a very audible clicking too. Might also be the fuel injectors? I was doing my 120k service and it says to audibly inspect the valve clearance noise and adjust if noisy. No idea if it's injectors or valve, will check with a screw driver some time later.
where is starter motor located?
Down under..front of the engine
thank you 👍👍
Hi, im getting 4.66 v to my knock sensor and my resistance to the sensor is all over. Is 4.66 v okay as you said 5v
Mine is 3.2v from the PCM, and still that is ok!!!..don’t worry, your PCM is fine!
@@zvonimirbobic1093 thank you very much for your reply, much appreciated.
thanks
I just fought with my wife's Mazda...nightmare. But after like 15 minutes I figured that it's much easier to remove the 'connector' by pulling the whole rubber cover. This way you remove both: the rubber and connector.
Yes, peel off the rubber cover from the plastic circle and then reach inside with your finger to unlatch the spring that holds the bulb in place
Hi, how to acces the pcv valve? Is needed to remove the intake manifold? Thx
i m afraid that yes it is needed
@@zvonimirbobic1093 thanks. Before I proceed,I gonna change the oil to a 0w20. Previous owner changed the oil with a 15w40, and it makes me suspect that it clogged the pcv. Maybe with the proper 0w20 oil it gets fixed? Difficult to know really.
@@indoperfect4080 I use 10w40 after each 7000km..and I will stick to it no matter what..yours is not a problem of oil thickness neither!
@@zvonimirbobic1093 yep, I changed oil to 5w30, car runs better with improved mpg. But the slight whistle and rough idle is still there, so I will replace the pcv for a new one. Is there any video or guide for removing the intake manifold to acces the oil separator and swap that little pcv? Thanks again :)
@@indoperfect4080 the whistle is from an air suction(vacuum leak)..i'd move away from pcv valve if i were u..go hook up a scanner and watch the live data..fuel trim, air/fuel ratio sensor..if it's lean at idle and improves at higher rpm, then you have a vacuum leak for sure..spray some water around to find where
