Glad you won Vs Leo! As for the Mixed game, I hate to say it, but the other girl was the difference in the game in my opinion. From what I can see, she's focused on hunting down any mistakes on the net and reading you and amy for the next possible shot. The other guy was not the smoothest, but he made the shots and covered his girl so she could hunt the net. I don't know if it would've made a difference attacking the girl, because there are a lot of girls that are better at defending than the guys, especially in mixed. Plus, the girls are usually the ones who have a better "touch" when it comes to fine shots. Sometimes you just have to smash the middle channel when they lift to you. Thanks for showing the score, it really makes a big difference!

@@WaynesBaddy Your smash is fine. The mixed game is won and lost at the net in my opinion. But most importantly, the serve game is probably what Amy should work on. Not to be mean to Amy, but at 03:45 there shouldn't be any serves that high above the net. Wayne, you're fine everywhere else. I mean you play nice a singles game and can make shots, so you can do it in mixed. Once you start playing with girls that are queen of the net, you'll see how the game changes radically.

Hey Wayne, when you play mixed, have your girl return the low serve to her like the guy in black is doing it at 07:19 in this video. You'll notice that the Lefty even has to lift this shot which shows how effective it is. Also notice how the guy in black (who returned the serve) takes a step forward to block off the net which eliminates the lefty of even thinking about crossing the net.

Ok at 05:30, you're facing lefty + lefty so I hate to say it, but bad shot choice by Amy. Her shot is a little high so you have to be ready to cover your rear forehand because that's the easiest shot for lefty girl because it's her forehand and sterling's forehand. Just have her clear it to sterling's backhand corner and then you don't have to worry about who covers the net. Sometimes it's not about who covers, but how to stay out of bad situations like that.
true good point! I think its quite easy to forget that we were playing against leftys. I found that I have a lot to work on so that we don't even lift in the first place! Thanks for the comment!
@@WaynesBaddy Sometimes you have to lift, especially when you're playing better teams, but you looked great out there! Nice smash too! Remember, as you play better teams, it's going to take many smashes to win.
Wooo hoo! I predicted your win over sterling! As for your mixed game, you looked great and did make a lot of improvements over the past mixed games. Nice to see you going on the attack and being less passive, but your girl should hunt the net more like at 05:19 she should be looking to outright kill those slow motion mistakes by the opponent. Finally, Amy should try and return serve to the middle with the spinning net shot/hairpin if she can because from what you show, the opponents aren't taking a step forward after they serve. This will force them into a straighter lift because she should be at the net before them and they don't want to go for a side drop to the net when Amy is already there. Then you smash the middle and put the pressure on them and WIN! Rinse and repeat!
Hahah I always enjoy your comments! Thanks for the analysis! For us we didn't want to be attacked so were trying to be a lot more aggressive. But because of that we were pushing quite a lot too instead of just a soft net to set up for the offensive shots. at 5:19 I agree! Im definitely not good at those killing shots tho as well haha. oh wow I never picked up on doing a return in the middle. But wouldn't the girl just return it since shes the one at the front/ serving? but interesting thought.. 🤔

@@WaynesBaddy I tried to reply with a link to a video clip of what I was trying to explain, but it's not showing up. Maybe it's in your comments held for review. Let me try and explain again. When opponent girl low serves to your girl, have her hit close net shot in the middle of the net. It's like a spinning net shot, also known as the hairpin. The shot stays close to the net and leaves the other girl two options if she doesn't take a step forward after her serve. She has to try to net the shot which she will be taking below the net, which will be killed if your girl is already at the net. Option 2 is to lift it (this is what usually happens if your girl is on the net) and since it's in the center of the they don't have the ability to create wide lift angles (left right) and pretty much have to lift high somewhat straight to the back which should be the easiest shot for you to hit.

Loved the commentary, especially the advice from your friends. The advice about no cross court net shots is 100% right. The shot looks cool, but only works on beginners AND has to be perfect or else you lose. In fact, I don't even cross court net anymore. Finally, when you had the lefty playing with you, try and focus on just setting him up more because he's really good and can outright win it for you! On another note, since you're more of a singles type of player, I think you'll do well in mixed doubles. Ask your friends what they think about you playing mixed. It's fun to follow your journey! I think when I’m playing doubles I need to think about where I’m smashing aswell so that I’m increasing the likelihood of my partner cutting it off and killing it. Thanks for that!
