What was your psi on the low and high? That wouldve been great to know
It depends on the Ambient temperature when you charge your System. You can google an R134 chart and find specs
Oh nice, you found a unicorn
Thanks!
Will the factory rims fit over this setup on either one, im running ifs.
I don’t think so you will probably need 1in spacer but not 100%
Thanks for the vid! On a side note, is that a TG rear bumper modified with a tire carrier? I have an 87 4runner and was going to build a rear bumper with swing out but like how yours protects the rear panel behind the tire. Thanks!
Yes it is a TG. I built the tire carrier with some scrap metal I think I show it in a previous video!
@@AGFreedom I'll look for it! Thx
Hello, beside being comfortable in your honda civic seats, aren’t the seats too high ? Do you enter in your car easily or do you have to tuck to enter ? I have to tuck myself in and i am a 5,7 guy, as i enter my head touches the door frame
I’m 6,1 and I sit perfect I have no issues getting in but my truck is taller. I felt like it was maybe 1in taller but I think it’s because my old seats were blown out and had no cushion
I don't know why you removed, uh, "deleted" the inner fender splash guards. They were there for a reason. Now you're just going to soak the starter and everything else on both sides every time you drive in the rain.
When you do an SAS that’s part of it. Also those components get wet either way and it’s not an issue. Trucks been that way for 8 years. Thanks for the consideration though
OK. You got results from your "rebuild", but that's not the problem. The trouble is in your ignition switch which has been carrying cranking amps for 35+ years and is simply worn out. It's a poor design from the factory and was never intended to last 30 years. There are tons of vids and advice in the yota forums on installing a separate ignition relay to solve to problem. I did mine 5 or 6 years ago and never looked back. My 22rei fires on the first crank because I bypassed the ignition switch to send 12V (and cranking amps) directly from the battery to the starer when I turn the key. It isn't hard or expensive and you don't have to remove the starter. Do your homework and leverage the experience of those who came before you.
I already addressed this in a few comments thanks for watching and your input.
1UZ or 3RZ
3rz is the way!
Awesome video mate and really useful info. I would have never thought to rebuild my own starter until I watched this vid, I would have just bought a cheap replacement. Now I know I can rebuild them I will be doing that from now on 👍
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video my guy! A reminder that I need to start working on mine. 🤙
Thanks for the feedback and watching. Always love encouraging people to keep there rigs on the road!
you will still have the same issue down the road, install a starter relay. 1st gens didn't come with one. All Toyota from this era have this issue. Ignition switch gets worn out and starter just clicks. The real fix is to replace the ignition switch , add starter relay, and rebuild starter which you did.
Yes I am aware and you are correct. My truck is from California and is pretty original so I have really no issues. Someday I make need to make that repair though. Still an easy fix all in all!
I just bought a 68 f-100 4x4 from California. Rock solid. She's gonna be the nicest rig in Massachusetts. Probably not. Keep it up your truck looks killer. Inside and out.
Thanks for watching!
Man this is exactly what i needed! Was planning to order a rebuilt kit and figure it out myself!
Sweet I’m glad I was able to help!
Wrong part number for rotors. I’ve tried 4 different rotors and I’m not to sure how you guys are getting this to work. The part number for the rotors you have listed won’t even fit over the locking hub. Just took them back and not the Tacoma rotors are too tall for the caliper. This is pissing me off
What is your set up bud?
@@AGFreedom 85 solid axle stock knuckles, 87 ifs hubs, 94 4Runner calipers, tried all the 1st gen Tacoma rotors Orielly has even ones you have listed as parts. The one you have listed won’t even fit around locking hubs the ones I have now are to tall for the calipers to mount on factory eyes
@@Futttbuckinlsx you ground down the Hubs enough? Also O’Reillys gets part numbers and parts wrong all the time make sure you verify
@@AGFreedom yes. I did them myself and my hubs clear everything I’ve put on it. The rotors that I have right now the outer diameter is to big. So it hitting on the calipers. The last set I had were probably the right outer diameter but the center diameter wouldn’t fit around the locking hub. And they seemed like they were to thin to even sit center in the brake caliper if they did work
@@AGFreedom I just listened to what you said about part numbers being wrong. I went to Autozone and found the right ones part#31165 at Autozone are the rotors you want, if anyone is wondering because I just went thru the ringer with Orielly. Sorry for the attitude but man when I tell you I went to Orielly 16 times the last two days I’m not exaggerating
Really enjoying your channel. I have an 88 4Runner. Where did you source those LED headlights?
Thanks for the feed back! I got them on Amazon. a.co/d/8fSnRoX
Is the 3vze a similar swap to the 22re. Is there anything i should know before hand?
Check out the Toyota swap pages on Facebook they have really in-depth write ups
I genuinely am curious what makes something like this fun? I understand mudding because it's mud. But this always confuses me..
I personally enjoy any opportunity to be with friends in the woods. An opportunity to be in Gods creation. I thinks there’s challenges that are fun on the trail and the beautiful places the trails take us!
Looks like it needs bussing for the bed the bed sag
The can was lifted with a body lift the bed has no lift that’s the silly Gab issue..
Looks like the compressor linked is a single row vs the OEM double row condenser. Is the parallel flow efficient enough to cool the 4runner, making double row unnecessary?
It’s way better we explain that at the end of the video. Just modern technology
Lifted✅ Tubular bumpers✅ All the off road goodies✅ Rock sliders……..pavement pounder.
Must not have seen my other videos thanks for watching🤘🏼
My head moved though.
So true😮
Soon 😇😇😇
Let's not forget the never ending cycle of the lease as well, but hey, you get to drive new every 2
No owning a Toyota is the only way!
Yep for sure I have a 87 Toyota 4x4 truck
One of the best trucks ever made no doubt
But what if that car is a 1979 Toyota pickup…….
Perfect! The 70s Toyotas are so neat!
@@AGFreedom Amen, if it doesn’t have round headlights and a 20R engine I don’t want it 😂

but, my cars are so cool lol.
What are they??
what was the brake setup that was already in there? I have an 85 4runner and was wanting to do the ifs hub swap but don't need bigger breaks.
You would just run your stock parts with Land Cruiser rotors then.
@@AGFreedom that would just be stuck calipers in the stock location with FJ 60 rotors. I just need the track with to fit 33s with stock wheels on my forerunner and don’t need brakes to be upgraded.
@@Idaho_4x4 correct if you arnt upgrading your brakes then just put stock ifs brakes back on
Like if I pulled the hubs rotors and calipers from a second gen 4Runner? Thanks for all the help.
Nice!! Thanks bro!
No problem hope it helped and gives ideas..
Killer rig mate and great info! You’ve got yourself a new subscriber from Australia 🇦🇺 👍
🍻 thanks! I always appreciate the Australian builds!
No one is going to be sweet
New lol not no one!
Let me know how they do at the stealership.. I’m sure people will love them
@@AGFreedom have not seen one yet, but definitely will let you know. Keep the Contant up love it.
@@Treyhudson007 they probably won’t hit the lots till October but thanks for watching!
Lol It really be like that
🤷🏻♂️
not going to lie now i just saw the video for the new 4runner and its ok i guess but the main problem that i have is that ok they started to the tundra they redid the trundra new everything interior is nice and all compared to the last gen wrll its like Toyota said well they liked it so much we will copy and paste it on everything the tundra tacoma and now the 4runner basically are all the same vehicle so now its do u want a big truck a small truck or a small suv oh and even the bigger suv almost forgot about the other so thats 4 Toyotas that all look exactly the same where as the last gen to all of them had their own quirks and style and the trim levels u can pick now are basically all yhe same too
Yeah it’s a bummer there’s really no uniqueness.. I’m sure it will grow on me, but one of the things Toyota always stuck to was simple and reliable and that’s what I think the majority of the consumer wants not a big bulky vehicle that looks the same as others and has a flat screen tv inside.. if Toyota did a V8 or v6 with a removable top and some basic interior updates I bet they would sell far more then the bronco
That somebitch ugly as hell i would rather have a 5th gen. Fucker looks like a ford expedition mixed with a tacoma streatched horizontally
That is a quick drive for a one day
Maybe you are right!
That's not toxic at all.
I guess you’re right!!
With a reliable, comfortable vehicle like Toyota, or Honda. Anywhere can be a good trip.
True story!
I take my 86 cressida for those drives. Nothing can beat them.
Ain’t that right!
A long time ago while in the Navy, I would go to sleep listening to Black Sabbath, Metallica and all the hair bands.😅
In a twisted soothing way lol
@@AGFreedom not really. The throb of screws gently vibrating the bed, the slight roll of the ship (a carrier so not a lot even in storms) and the variations in the speed of the music (I likened the music to being on a slow moving roller coaster) was all cathartic and I don't think I have ever slept better in my life.
Looks like you had to add a line running across the front of the condenser? Do you have a part number for that?
No it’s all factory lines!
Followed love to see the build!
Appreciate you!
Thanks for this video. My daughter broke the spindle on her '74 F100 and it broke in exactly the same place as yours. Looks identical. Quick question - @8:08, the castle nut has a small pin, and it looked like you installed it with the pin pointing in. Is that right? I thought the pin was supposed to lock in one of the many holes in the lock washer that goes on next. Thanks!
The newer ones have a different spindle lock you’re correct.
@@AGFreedom Are you happy with the spindle you bought? I'm thinking about buying the same one.
@@WorkinOnIt yes never had any more issues with it!
@@AGFreedom Thanks - order placed!
Very informative, thank you for the video. I'm wondering if there's a need to swap the txv also with the new refrigerant?
Thanks for watching! No it won’t hurt it any to leave it alone as long as it was previously functioning fine
Any mods? Engine wise and non engine. Ex. Cold air etc
Way too much to list you will have to check out my other content on my channel to fill you in my first video I explain a lot! The engine is completely stock rebuilt 22re though
Good diagnosis
Thank you!
@@AGFreedom keep it up man, our world needs problem solvers
@@drprofessor1414 you’re not wrong
I got one right now.. a 1989 but doesn’t have that horrid bs on it and it’s solid black
Doesn’t have what on it?
😂😂😂
It looks pretty nice!
I think so!
I had one of those years ago, same color scheme. It was a good truck, but the 22re was pretty gutless though.
They are pretty awesome! Toyota does like to cut performance for reliability tho…
If you think it's gutless with efi, you should see how it is carbureted lol
@@TrillMurray she’s got enough juice to pull my 35s up the mountains and got plenty of gearing to off road anything I want. So no complaints plus 20mpg
@@AGFreedom does it have efi? What do you have for gearing?
@@TrillMurray yes it’s an 89 22re, I have 5,29 gears so that helps a ton. It’s not a race car but has plenty of juice! Check out my other content I have some great videos featuring it
