You will have to put a lot of extra efforts as you don't have any experience and you will have to build projects which will showcase your testing skills. If you want to switch, you can do one thing - Start building skills and start looking for job and until you don't get the job in Testing, don't leave what you are currently doing.

yeh baat toh sahi hai. Interview process change hona chahiye and testing pe zyaada focus hona chahiye and not sirf coding aur automation pe. Companies aur higher management ki nazar mein automation tester ki market value zyaada hai isliye woh aise tester hire kar rhe hai zinko manual aur automation dono aata hai aur isme candidates ko phir coding and automation sikna hi pad rha hai.

No, it's not like that salary growth is slower in software testing. If you switch from non-it to testing without any prior experience, then you will get salary equivalent to freshers and it will take from 4-7 years depending on your skills to reach 20 LPA.
