Im visiting for a few days late May. Planning to call across to Ljubljana.
$90 for the whole gondola and we can divide that the money by 5 person? $18 per person is that right. Thank you!
Yes, that's correct.
Great channel. It seems that you live there, so I was curious how the healthcare is. Do doctors speak english or is it sort of a disaster. I'm from New York, so I can go to an Urgent Care in three seconds and get a prescription. Just curious on your end. I've been to Florence and Siena. Completely fell in love with these cities, although Florence seemed to have a high number of tourist trappy restaurants. I don't mind the crowds but it's definitely not as cheap as one would think. Curious what your favorite city is. I may visit Bergamo. Curious if you have ever been there.
Hi thanks for reaching out! The healthcare system here is fantastic. Since you're not dealing with an insurance company, your doctor is free to do the things they feel is right and not based on an algorithm dictating the care you receive. It is the opposite of a disaster here. We have only dealt with a delay in receiving care once. The doctors we've had for the adults and kids has been mixed as far as English goes. We all share a doctor now that speaks decent English, but we are all fluent in Italian so that doesn't make any difference for us. I have not yet been to Bergamo. My favorite cities are Trieste, Bologna, Roma and Turin.
Wow. Excellent. You explain every detail. Thank you so much. You helped us so much for our trip
Great video! We are will be in Venice for a couple of weeks over Christmas and New Year's Day. I'm a coffee lover, so we are planning at least a day trip to Trieste. You are the first person, in all the videos I've seen, that mentioned the buffets. I wasn't able to catch the name of the buffet you had filmed at, but it looked right up my alley. Would you mind replying with the name? Thanks so much for the content and I'm looking forward to watching your other videos.
I showed a few buffets for this video. At the 17:45 mark is the Buffet da Pepi (very popular and can have a line to get in and the best for the boiled meats), at the 18:19 mark is the Buffet da Gildo, at the 18:40 mark is the Buffet da Siora Rosa. There are many more. Enjoy your trip!
Great Video! We are going to take the Alilaguna from Venice back to Marco Polo airport. I am planning to book a shared shuttle named GoOpti from Marco Polo to Trieste. Do you know where the shared shuttles are required to park at the airport? We are all in our late 70’s and don’t want to be lugging our luggage a long distance.
I don't know where exactly they park, however, the airport is very small and as soon as you leave the arrivals gate, it's just a few steps to exit the airport. as soon as you walk out there are lots of taxis and hotel shuttles there so I would imagine they would be in that area. It is not a t all too much to walk. I'm talking less than 3 minutes from when you get out of the gate to get to the shuttles. Enjoy your trip!
I don't want to compare Torino with other Italian cities, but for me, it remains the most beautiful city in Italy. This city is simply wonderful, it also boasts many records, Torino is the city that has the largest porticoed square in Europe, the first capital of Italy, it has the largest and best preserved Roman gate in the world "porta palatina", it hosts, outside Egypt, the most important Egyptian Museum in the world. In 1896 in Torino there was the first cinema screening in Italy. The "Porta Palazzo" market is the largest open-air market of Europe, the Mole Antonelliana was until 1889 the tallest building in all of Europe, it is the Italian city where the film industry was first established, it boasts of being one of the greenest European cities if not the largest among them, Espresso coffee was invented in Torino, and many other things. Everything about Torino will win you over, its architecture, its museums, its parks, its squares, its fountains, its food, sweet and savory. Visit Torino, you will be fascinated by it, it is a real jewel, which you will never forget.
That's so well written! Thanks so much for a detailed comment.
Will be there for my birthday week in December ❤
Let me know how the trip goes!
I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm starting to plan a trip to Italy for my husband and me next year, and we're on the hunt for peaceful spots where we can really soak in the Italian culture, food, and relaxed pace of life. Your suggestions are exactly what I was hoping to find, and thanks to you, we're now considering an albergo diffuso (11:42 )instead of the busier cities like Florence or Venice. Thank you, and wishing you all the best with your channel!
It's interesting timing because I have a friend from out of town that is staying right now in one of the albergo diffusi and is raving about it. Not only is he and his gf in a charming little town with beautiful views but he is also only spending 65 euro per night right now. Let me know how your trip goes!
Any recommendation for a website to book a taxi to the airport from Piazzale Roma?
I have not used this company so I can't vouche for them personally but they offer an online booking platform which may help airportstaxitransfers.com/transportation/taxi/Venice-Transfers?Google&GoogleAds&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA57G5BhDUARIsACgCYnymsL1fG9kgm_pd-7eG3xBmFaozvrnjqSbS5fczlBQS6OqamOogPAkaAi5AEALw_wcB
Hardly encountered anyone at all FOR NOW!!
Very true. It won't be that way for long...
Thanks for the info, ill be in Treviso this weekend and will try some places you mentioned
Let me know which ones you liked best!
I'm preparing for a family trip in December and this video is very helpful. Thank you so much.
Going there tomorrow afternoon to have 3 nights trip with my family (with 2 kids). Thanks for all of your videos: simple, sincere, & everything is just essential info. Any tips with traveling with kids for 3 days in Venice?
I actually have an article I wrote with tips for kids you can read here venicerevealed.com/venice-with-kids-tips-guide/
@@HiddenItalyTravel sad to update you that our trip went disastrous today. Pickpocket managed to wipe-out our cash money (€ 2K-ish) from our backpack 🥲. Sad that this beautiful & legendary city have been that cruel to us in our 1st visit… didn’t blame anyone, but it’s a very hard lesson learned for us to not lower down the vigilant level as we did in Paris few months earlier. Thanks for this lesson, Venice 😊
Great video. I have a very early flight leaving Venice. Can you get a cab anytime from Venice to the airport? Like 4am?
Thanks! You can generally get a taxi even that early as some wait for the scheduled flights arriving. However, you can call a taxi when you land and one will be there quickly if there are none available.
Vi rode eh?
If only you would pronounce TORINO
Wow, if it’s better than your wife’s cooking it must be Heaven! I’ll be there in April and will check it out. What else should I check out while in Treviso?
Dude, thanks for the video. Going to Turin this winter. Very helpful!
I think you'll love it. Let me know how it goes!
Beautiful Torino. Thank you great information.
Great Video, thank you
I'm surprised you didn't mention Juventus or Grande Torino back in the 40s who had an unfortunate plane crash, Italian football/soccer fans say they would have won the world cup if it wasn't for the plane crash in 1948. It looks very spacious and cultural but without the mass tourism like Florence or Rome.
I tried to keep the video short and to the point and it still was really long so mentioning those things would have added too much time. However, you're right about it not being victim to mass tourism and that makes it a nice destination. Hopefully it stays that way.
Subscribed excellent detail. I think Turin will get a lot of British and French tourists once they build the direct high speed rail to Lyon in 2032 and then you can probably a direct train to Paris too. So much culture and beautiful scenery with the alps in foreground as well two massive Football teams Juve and FC Torino.
Will be there in a few weeks!
Let me know how the trip goes!
Great, I will be staying at Centro Historico. Thanks for the video
I grew up in Torino and I still believe this is the most beautiful city in Italy!!
It's definitely in my list of top cities in Italy for sure.
I'm from Turin... and your video is extremely nice and well done! So, thanks for honoring my city. If you plan to go again, consider visiting some areas just outside Turin: - If you are a fun of Savoy history, renaissance etc, then you must visit the other royal residences just outside Turin: Stupinigi, Venaria Reale, Rivoli castle (which today is a contemporary art museum) - a curiosity about Rivoli (easily reachable by bus from Turin city center): during the 16th century, the capital of Savoy was transferred from Chambery (France) to Turin. Since the royal palace of Turin was not yet ready to accommodate the royal family, Rivoli castle played the role of capital for about 2 years during the transition from Chambery to Turin, but this is not found in the history books - - if you are a roman history fun, then you must visit Susa (approx 50 kms from Turin, but reachable with a direct train from Porta Nuova), where you can visit the Amphitheatre, Augustus arc and other roman remains - if you are a food and (mostly) wine lover, then you cannot miss the Langhe and Roero hills (about 1h drive from Turin) where you can taste among the best (red) wines in the world, to name a few: Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero Riserva, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba superiore, etc. Enjoy your next visit to Turin and thanks again for your video
Thank you so much for the kind words and the recommendations. I will definitely be visiting Turin again and will definitely venture outside the city the next time!
This is the best explanation on how to get from the Marco Polo airport to Venice. I know since I experienced riding in a water taxi (we booked ahead of time) and the vaporetto. This video was not available then. How i wish it were. I am now a subscriber!!Thank you and I will have to watch your Trieste video as we are headed that way next year!!!
You will love trieste. Stay tuned because I will have more videos about Trieste coming up. I have been really busy lately so uploading has been spotty, but in the next few weeks I should have a couple of videos come out. Thanks for the kind words!
@HiddenItalyTravel I am going to share this video with the group which is going to Venice next year and then to Trieste after Venice to embark on a cruise. Any good tips on how to get to Trieste from Venice?
@@susanmendoza2658 The best, and fastest way to get to Trieste from Venice is to take the high speed Frecciarossa train. it's a comfortable ride and gets you there in a couple of hours. My advice is to book around a month in advance though. Not only do seats fill up fast, but the price goes up the closer you get to your travel date.
@HiddenItalyTravel Thank you very much. This is a very valuable information.❤
It sad, I am already in Europe, was going to drive to my great grand parent's village but don't have this thing.. sucks..

This is a great video if you want to visit Trieste, we just have and we watched this before, during and again after our trip. Thanks for posting, it's an excellent travel guide, we felt we'd seen it all after ticking off the various places.
That makes me truly happy! I am curious to hear more about your trip such as the highlights of Trieste in your opinion.
You 've summarised professionally and made me see the city soon.Thank you.
Thank you so much for all the tips and information you shared. Awesome!
I'm so glad it helped!
Wonderful. Thanks and very specific info! My granddaughter is there for a semester abroad so I'll be wandering about while she is in class. Looking forward to it and made my reservation for the Egyptian Museu m just in case there are still a lot of tourists in October.
Best video about the city that I‘ve seen so far.
We leave Cremona tomorrow for 10 days in Turino after seeing this
I'm so happy to hear that! Let me know how your trip was after!
Mate - I’ll be in Venice in two weeks time with my family of five. Yours is the best and easiest to follow video I’ve watched on options for transport. You’ve convinced my wife we’ll be taking a water taxi for the ‘once in a lifetime trip’. Cheers 👍
I'm so glad you found it helpful. That's my goal for every video I create. Enjoy your trip and let me know how it goes.
Excellent video! Straightforward and very detailed. Much appreciated!
Thank you very much, it’s very informative, specially when we arrive in Marco Polo Airport. You are doing a great job!
Enjoy your trip!
Fellow Bostonian here who has been to Italy many times but I haven't yet been toTurin. I've been doing research and it looks amazing . Your video is very informative... thank you.
I think you will love Turin!
I was born in Turin, and live there. Turin is more than amazing. This hidden gems has hidden gems itself. Look in Google for "villa cerruti" aka "cerruti collection", an unbelievable art collection, or "cappella dei mercanti" a rarely open, but ever free, astonishing chapel, unknown even by torinese people
Super clear and neat instructions! Thank you for the video!
Very good video and great tips.
thank you for the explanation on the useful information
Tbh looks kind of boring, i was planning a week in turin but maybe thats too much
There were a lot of things we didn't have time for since we were there for a short time so maybe what we did seems boring. There's a lot more to do and the city is charming, but a week might be too much. Unless you do day trips from there using Turin as a base.
Wow, Thank you for this. You've made a brilliant video. Really helpful. Great job!
Where from arrivals do you go to get to the 🏧 atm you mentioned before you get your water taxi ?
As you come out of the arrivals area, take a left and look for the check in desks at the far end of the airport. You'll see it just before you go into the check in area. Also, there is an information desk there just ask them where the Postamat is.
@@HiddenItalyTravel thank you , very helpful video 😊
What a delightful video! I'm going for the first time and this was the best video I've watched, full of useful information and nice opinions, thank you!
Enjoy your trip! I can't wait to go back and probably will this winter.
Disembarkation from cruise in Trieste. Will require taxi to train station to store bags there. Tips for this process? Later that day taking direct train to Trieste airport.
There are usually taxis right near where the boats dock. There is also a taxi stand a couple of blocks away across the street from Eatay. However, I would talk to somebody on the cruise. They can help you in this better than I can since I don't know the cruise protocol. Enjoy your trip to Trieste!
Hey thank you for these great tips. I am planning to go soon and I am wondering if it is better to book a gondola ride online or in person. From what I know it is generally better to book online to avoid long lines and guarantee yourself a ride. But I would love to hear your opinion on that.
It depends on when you plan to go and where you want tot ake the ride. If you want to go to out of the way spots, you shouldn't book online as the online bookings will have a meeting point prearranged and are usually where there are more gondolas. If you go to an out of the way spot, you generally shouldn't wait in a line, but you will likely have to wait for the gondolier to get back and if there is even only one couple ahead of you that can be a long wait. If you plan to share a ride to save money and don't have people with you to share, then you pretty much have to book ahead. There is a link in the description of the video to an article with more information and links in case you decide to book online.
Where is the best spot to see sunset gondola?
I would try to pick one up near St Mark's Square on the Grand Canal but ask him to try to time the ride so you are on the small canals nearby and then end on the Grand Canal with the sunset. Or, try to start there while the sun is setting and then finish most of the rise in the smaller canals after seeing the sunset.
