Restoring Your Rusty Rear Quarter Panel: Simple Steps for Stunning Results!
In this video, I’ll take you through the process of fixing my rusty rear quarter panel. What began as a coin-sized rust spot quickly turned into a much larger project once I started grinding! While I didn’t have time to film the entire process due to a tight schedule, I’ll share some useful tips that you might find helpful for your own repairs. I gathered information from various RUclipsrs and decided to try my first project using a small compressor and affordable spray guns from AliExpress. For priming, I used a 1.7mm needle Aeropro R500 spray gun, and for the base and clear coat, I opted for the NTools 4000 B with a 1.3mm needle. This car is my daily driver, and I’m not planning to sell...

Car wash Fail (Prodigy - Smack my Pitch Up!)
Question: using the spraygun to actually spray pur solvent... would it be a good quick method? (since the solvent will go where the paint goes) Oh! and BTW thanks for the video.
Yes, you can use a solvent to clean the spray gun. However, I’d recommend starting with a less aggressive solvent specifically made for spray gun cleaning. Once it looks clean, add a bit of 2K solvent, which is stronger and will dissolve any slightly dried paint. By the way, this cleaning video is more useful for the first cleaning when you first buy it, as it usually comes with oil residue on it. Thanks for watching my content! Cheers!
and which one is the fluid regulator?
The fluid regulator is located near the back of the gun, usually as an adjustable knob. This regulator controls the flow of paint or coating material by adjusting the needle position in the fluid nozzle. Adjusting this knob allows you to increase or decrease the amount of fluid that passes through, giving you control over the spray pattern and thickness.
wheres the air regulator in this gun, which is usually located on the bottom?
The regulator on the left side of this spray gun controls the spray pressure.
how do you make sure inside your gun is dry to use? the thinner couldn`t stick on the bottom of the gun on the regulator/air exit? or that place is closed?
After using the thinner, blow air through the gun. Connect it to an air compressor and pull the trigger to let air flow through the gun for a minute or two. This helps remove any remaining thinner, ensuring that the internal parts, including the regulator and air passages, are dry.
Where i can see this spray gun sho ser?
Hey, could you please repeat or rephrase the question?
why wear gloves and mask haha
Because solvent fumes are toxic and can damage the lungs over time, and gloves protect the skin. These are basic safety recommendations.
No need for trigger adjustment knob or the spring to go in the wash.
When you buy a cheap Chinese paint spray gun, it comes covered in a thick layer of grease, including the spring. Since the needle is inserted through the same opening where the spring is located, there's a high chance that the needle will get contaminated with grease, which can negatively affect the paint quality.
How much liter/minute or CFM does this spraygun use. Some shops say 4Cfm, but that is really low?
It’s actually around 12 CFM. It’s using a lot of CFM, but it sprays really well.
hello , how many turns you unscrew material ? bye tks
First, you unscrew almost all the way, then press the handle fully and screw in until you feel resistance. Then it's all set. Just make sure to do it while disconnected from the air compressor.
@@happyspraygun ok perfect tks
So what’s the verdict? Any good?
Yes, this spray gun performs well for applying the base coat, providing an even and smooth finish, and it excels in delivering an outstanding, glossy clear coat.
@@happyspraygun Thanks for the reply mate. I’m on a budget and researching options so I appreciate the video and reply👍
Cheers, mate! I'm glad my videos helped you. @@KMMI77
and what features in the gun should I consider when buying one for base and one for clear?
For a mini gun, use a 1mm tip for basecoat, 1.2mm for clear, and around 1.4mm for primer if available. Ensure your compressor meets the gun’s air pressure needs (20-30 PSI). Look for good adjustability in fan size and fluid control. A quality build ensures consistent results.
hey bro, thanks for the videos. I am still new in this and just bought a compressor for me, don`t want to spend tons of money and wanna spray on my garage. would you suggest to buy separate guns? 1 for primer, 1 for basecoat and 1 for clear? or I can use like 1 for primer and base in the same gun?
Hey! Thanks for watching. If you're on a budget, you can use the same gun for primer and basecoat, but it's best to have a separate gun for clear coat to avoid contamination and get a better finish. If possible, having dedicated guns for each step (primer, base, clear) is ideal, but you can start with two-one for primer/base and one for clear.
What about the gun angle bro 😮😮🫡🫡😵💫😵💫
Hey, could you clarify your question? What exactly do you want to know?
@@happyspraygun you are spraying colour from wrong angle while painting the spray always should be parandicular to substrate...📐
Thank you for the feedback. The gun was held at a different angle to capture how it sprays on camera.
Hi there, did you work out why the fan was fluttery?
Yes, it seems that after cleaning the gun, when inserting the needle inside, some oil stuck on the needle and clogged the cup holes. After cleaning the cup, everything worked well.
After I've cleaned each part with a less aggressive thinner and a brush, I then spray with that thinner. I have a detailed cleaning video on my channel. Check it out!
I know a fellow who sprays some acetone through every new paint gun
is good? thanks
If you have a small compressor, you can spray one or two parts at a time. If you have a larger compressor, you can spray the whole car. It sprays base coat and clear coat very well and consumes around 12 CFM.
Hello, what compressor capacity was the gun tested on? I have a 50l compressor. Can I paint one element of the car, the fender?@@happyspraygun
@@adidriver5431 Hey, I have a 50L compressor with 14.83 CFM, and I’ve also connected an additional 80L receiver, giving me a total of 130 liters and 14.83 CFM. I think your 50L compressor should be sufficient for spraying a small car part like a fender, but it depends on the spray gun. For example, the 4000B requires about 12.5 CFM. You might want to try a similar spray gun like the Aeropro R500, which requires a smaller CFM, around 10. So, it really depends on the CFM your compressor can provide and the spray gun you use. Stay tuned, as I'll be uploading a video soon showing my compressor and receiver setup. Subscribe so you don't miss it!
Hope you find this informative.
