Solus Budgie is better in my view and also the original distro to create the Budgie DE. Ultra Marine Linux and Fedora both do very good Budgie versions as well.

Regarding Mailspring always logging out of accounts: I had the same problem with the Flatpak version. The Mailspring website links to the Snap version, so I tried that ... works flawlessly! And I love to have the same email client on Linux, Windows and Mac.

Zorin is heavier than Linux Mint and has less customization and is too flashy with the animations. Animations slow down your computer. Linux Mint is a much better option if you choose xfce or mate!!

I use Resolve in my Win-dose 11 dual boot. I find the title creation much easier in Kdenlive over Resolve. One person youtube editting! Resolve for me is overkill, I do simple RUclipss, many about Kdenlive! Run final audio thru Audaciry. My other issue for what I look for is file size, render in Kdenlive, MP4, H265 is super small, this a one PC, one person creation! My OS, Mint 21.3 does not work with Resolve, Kdenlive works easily! Resolve I go into windows, Win 11 not my favorite! Have done 4K short videos with exact same video, same effects, same audio, minor color grade , same animated title, subtitles and the final product looks the same! File size is another issue. Render time is slightly faster in Resolve/Win 11, verus Kdenlive/Mint OS. Progams used by me OBS, Audacity, GIMP and Kdenlive (sometimes Resolve). Note, still learning Resolve, Kdenlive is quick and painless for me!

Nope! It's not good. Sooner a polished enough Android x86 will take advantage of Microsoft doing absolutely everything it can to make people ditch Windows, than the average Betty will be able to fix a faulty app installation without the terminal, which requires learning the terminal, which tons of IT experts don't care to bother with, satisfied with working on Windows or Mac, cause it pays off. Like I've just commented, Android proved a user friendly Linux is doable, but to PC Linux distro developers, solving even a minor problem without their holy terminal, would be some utter herecy 😮! "Thou shalt conjure thy Linux distro's functionality from the depths of agony, by typing thy ass off in the password prompt, and the sacred Linux terminal of the mystical Linux commands!" You get the picture why even a Mac is more convenient.

Seems like there’s not much new development with this distro. Their last blog post is a year ago. Just one of those hobby distros that’s not gonna receive much attention and support. I would stick to cachyos, endeavour or garuda if you just want an easy to install arch based distro that’s going to be supported for a long time

AI tech alone is not the problem, AI model may start to be a problem but as long as you choose it I guess this is ok. In my sense there is at least 2 problems, first is the integration question, do we should integrate an AI (even a free one) into an operating system ? To be effective an AI will necessary have to keep some of your info (a minimal history that will let the AI keep the subject of the interaction and all the answers it could already told) or it will just be another not clever assistant, but in that case where the data will be saved ? Will it be uploaded to a server or in your own computer (using some disk space, how much ?), will it be encrypted ? With a common key for each system that use that AI on this particular distro or will it be encrypted locally with a passphrase you choose on your own, maybe based on hardware signature ? The second one is Why would you need an AI help you use a PC ? For the people that can't use a keyboard or any input device, as long as they can talk we can use AI to execute orders, it could be a cheapest and safest solution than implanting a chip in the patient brain. In this particular case I see a great benefit, but for general purposes if you can use a keyboard/mouse or controller it would just be way faster. AI is already usable in linux, my first experience with AI was chatGPT, my second experience is when I tried to use an AI chatbot on my own hardware with a free model, running on a pi4, was quite long but it worked.

Hey , i have a few questions based off my background: Im almost 26 ; have been working at dead end jobs with no upward mobility in terms of obtaining real applicable skills.. somewhat. My question is do you think at 26 , its too late to go to school and earn prerequisites? Do you think IT is a secure industry? should i dedicate to IT or go for something that is a little more secure like medical? Right now im studing my A+ certification , while researching news about all the tech layoffs. This venture has swayed me into a presumably pessimistic array of emotions. All the way to the point where im even considering rerouting to the medical field. Glad that you released this video today , as it has provided some amount of clarity.

The only thing I miss are GPU accelerated effects. From what I read, Kdenlive used to have them, but they stopped working well. However, for now on, I think this will be my main video editor program. If I ever need a more "sophisticated" program I have DaVinci Resolve as a backup. Linux may not have as many apps as Windows and MacOS, but the ones that are there are great. I hope this project doesn't die soon.

I dumped Mint when they dumped KDE (this decision meanwhile being reinforc&confirm-ed by their Ubuntu-dependency&quirks). Subsequently I halt&cancell-ed my switching from Win8.1Pro to Linux (KDE-Plasma). Instead, at Win8.1-EOL, contrary to longstanding intentions, I upgraded to Win10Pro (my Hw = Win11-incompatible). As things look now, when m$oft doesn't reduce Win11-Hw-req's to Win10-levels, I'll switch to MX-Linux (KDE-Plasma) at Win10-EOL, since my Hw will last me just fine much longer & I ain't ever got the budget within my ltd-pension for Hw-upgrade(s) anyhow. :_[ hYlkeW
