    I've actually switched to fedora just before 36 came out, and recently I set up KDE Plasma and everything is just perfect.
    I love how it feels a lot like something like Arch and yet it's extremely stable.

    Fedora is one of the most unappreciated distros. Great and stable Distro.
    Good video. Thanks

      Yes but Fedora 35 and 36 are the best releases ever of the system. It's gaining momentum and it deserves it however I tried Fedora many times and they had many releases that were a far cry from these newer ones.

    With Fedora, be sure to activate the Fusion/ non-free repos. Fedora 36 KDE is incredible- it is my daily driver.

    If you have Intel hardware, you must try Clear Linux. It's a bit different from the standard. They have their own package manager "swupd" and Flatpack support. Supper fast and hardware friendly OS.

    Enterprises wouldn’t be using it as a workstation! The upstream Alma Linux or Rocky Linux would be more their speed, essentially a stable LTS Fedora with a long term support cycle of ten years as opposed to the six months with Fedora.

    You mention a Dell laptop. I’ve got an XPS with Nvidia optimus hybrid graphics. That has always been the thing that drives me back to Windows. If you’ve got Nvidia, how’s all that work under Wayland on Fedora 36?

      do yourself a favour, chose a different edition than the default. gnome is really slow and resource hungry. fedora has a lot of "spins", there is plasma, xfce, lxqt/lxde, mate, cinnamon, i3, etc...

    • @StrikerEureka85
      @StrikerEureka85 2 года назад

      same. I'm running EOS as my daily driver but I've been hearing many good things about this latest fedora and I've been playing around with a Fedora VM. I'm really liking it so far.

    • @sharktooh76

      @Fashinqu A. not really ...

    • @sharktooh76
      @sharktooh76 2 года назад

      @Fashinqu A. comparing the two is almost impossible. plasma/KDE is much more complex than gnome and it has way more festures. despite that plasma/KDE is way lighter than gnome.

    • @sharktooh76
      @sharktooh76 2 года назад

      @Fashinqu A. it depends on how many effects are enabled, how it is configured, what theme is used, etc. basically, its impossible to compare.
      plasma/KDE does so much more with so much less memory, that's enough for me to say gnome is a bad piece of software... let alone the fanatic devs behind it....

    I run the beta of Fedora 36 for say 6-7 weeks, but after the last update the screen freezes and I have to power off the VM en reload on an older version of the Linux kernel. I was just on the point of deleting the Fedora 35 VM and replacing it with Fedora 36, fortunately I did run those "updates" first.
    Fedora 36 a real bomb for me!

    I kept hearing about how awesome Fedora is and I finally decide to give it a try. Doesn't even start up. After starting the live environment, it just shows a black screen. Awesome. I can't say I'm impressed if this is the best they can do, given that even one man distros work perfectly fine out of the box.

      That's a you issue lmao, it works just fine, maybe it's a hardware issue or your iso didn't flash correctly or that your isos download is corrupted.

    Played with Fedora a lot, but I always run into something that annoys me, or doesn't work very easy or the way I think it should and googling for answers... I recently just switched my Manjaro use over to Arch, and think I'll stick to Arch as my main OS for a long time. I thought about going with EndeavourOS, but its basically just a small wrapper around Arch, so figured I'd just go straight up Arch instead. It all seems to run a lot better and its pretty easy to use, even if not easy to install.

      @@refayatul Manjaro never gave me a problem... but as I said above, I switched over to Arch, so I am not using Manjaro any more. Arch seemed a better way to go than EndeavourOS, as I saw no benefit to EndeavourOS besides the installer, and that's such a short use for an OS I hope to run years.

      Hi there! Sure you were using Wayland with Nvidia. Yes, you can use Nvidia drivers with Wayland, but you will have some issues. Bit lagging, night light doesnt works, and some default apps doesnt works as well, like Maps. I recommend to use xorg instead wayland!

      install rpmfusion repo, then install the akmod-nvidia package (it's not totally sthat simple, "akmod-nvidia" is the package for the latest nvidia cards, the older cards use one of the older legacy nvidia packages)
