In the rat race of who can play the fastest/loudest/most theatrically that has overrun solo classical music (especially in competitions), Eric is one of the few true artists of this generation. Always in service to the music.

I am just watching this on bbc4 now. I did not know what the piece was so Google searched it and it brought me here. It is so beautiful.

I have always been mesmerized by this song, specially after 4:21. It sounds like a tragic story about a not corresponded love, full of ilusions, hopes that prove to be false, obsession on believing that this love is somehow real, but at the end, just an acceptance of reality, that everything was just a dream, but it turns up that the delusional lover is now finally free to follow with his life. I don't know if that was the real intention of Chopin here, to portray such a painful love story, where melancoly, anger, hate, wrath are all being healed by peace and balance in the end, (maybe it's only in my head). Not to mention that piano music has no lyrics, but it always sounded to me like that. That part at 5:38, it's the part where you understand what happened to whoever this is about, you understand it was painful and heartbreaking, like a deep wound in the heart, but now peace and freedom are back, and that's what really matters after all. Eric Lu's performance captured the true essence of all this spiral of emotions. Wonderful job!

Dear Eric, I have been feeding my two caravan pups with the piano music of Mozart and when I had them listen to the Schubert Impromtu No 3 from the programme Sweet Dreams for the first time, I knew I had struck a chord of resonance. My black male pup responded so definitely that he recognized it on the next day. Now I am playing to them all four Impromptus from you. Just now as I started on the first one already, he hurriedly went straight to my my bed and put his head down on my pillow. Yesterday evening both attacked me to lick me all over my face. I obviously have created a.bond of love flowing both ways, to.them and back to me. I am in the position of being their teacher, energy coming from me and bouncing back. So I have understood the phenomenon of Quantum Entanglement. going both ways. the essence of which is Love. In the country of China when one learns a craft be it martial arts or poetry, there is the ritual bonding of kowtowing and offering of tea to the master and his wife.
