I prefer the Japanese voices for most of the game, however I like the English voice of Auron slightly more than the Japanese, I like the English voice of Kimari a lot more than the Japanese, and for non playable characters I like the English VA of Maester Mika FAR more than the Japanese one.

I actually think the English dub is better than the Japanese! Tidus and Auron especially impress me more in English. Everyone on the Japanese side sounds a little... stereotypical? And while the English cast had to contend with awkward speech timing/tempo, I still feel like they sound more natural and genuine than some of the very idk fake or uninspired-sounding Japanese.

I still can't get over Wakamoto being the seiyū for Edwin Black from the brutal rape hentai series Taimanin. I know Wakamoto is one of the most famous seiyū of all time, but all I hear now whenever he shows up is Edwin Black and my mind goes to a very perverted place. And here he is standing across from Mickey Mouse! And then Wakamoto also appears in Super Smash Bros. as Metal Face, so he yaps in the background while Mario and Kirby duke it out over Gaur Plains. And again, all I'm thinking about are Asagi, Sakura, and Oboro getting gangraped and bukkaked by orcs cuz of Wakamoto triggering those memories...

Tidus' JA voice actor is so damn good. I stayed away from FFX for a while because of how unfitting the english dub felt, but the JA actor nails the really sentimental scenes as well as acting extremely goofy when he flirts. I never expected Tidus to become one of my favorite and most relatable characters in all of FF, especially with how much hate he got originally.

Man spanish is no comparison to others you can literally hear through the games how his voices change the pronunciation of the words and how he get old with same voice th depth he put in his character is on another level you can hear when ezio young in his voice that he didn't comprend the complexity of the world and how naive he is, and then hear it each time having little changes that makes so apreciable is on another level.

I often play JRPG's in Japanese with subs (i speak a little Japanese,but not much). However for me FF10 is better in English,I can't quite put my finger on why,but the vibe seems to suit English.

I finished this game with my sister in 2019, I never grew up with this game but just listening to its music just makes me feel so nostalgic

playing assassins creed in the language region they are is one of the best things. with the hud off it almost seems like an actual movie

My preferences: Tidus: Definitely Japanese, that voice suits him better and sounds more his age somehow. I also think ENG VA's accent is way too strong. Yuna: English. They gave her a lot of layers in the dub version that I find missing in undub. Auron: Definitely English. He sounds tough, but still warm, like that strict father who's trying to lead you through the right but hard path. In JP he just sounds like the usual deep-voiced lone wolf that's present in every anime and FF game. Wakka: English VA has got a lot of character. JP sounds more generic to me. Lulu: English, same as above. A deeper voice suits the character much more. She sounds like a generic anime girl in JP. Kimahri: Both. They sound very different, but I think both suit the character. Rikku: Overall I like both, but she sounds much more emotional in ENG during the Home scene, I also love how she refers to Yuna as Yuny which I think it's missing in the JP version.

Donald has the most accurate Japanese voice.

I honestly like both versions, but… Japanese Mickey sounds.. Off. It doesn’t sound like Mickey, really. Bits and pieces do, but it really just sounds like the voice actor was confused, and was MOCKING Mickey’s voice. It’s okay, though, I can live with it. Donald. My GOD. Japanese Donald sounds NO different from English. Same vocal technique and pitch, which musta took a lot of training. Sounds like just one voice actor. And Goofy I honestly like Goofy in Japanese. I don’t get why people think it’s funny, to me it sounds accurate! A bit deeper, sure, but the way he says ‘Gawrsh!’ In Japanese just sits so well. I prefer English, but even then! Really good.
