A visual representation of how I wrap bar tape the 'Figure of 8' technique. This was quite hard to film, so sorry for the dodgy edit 😆

Просмотров 1,1 тыс.3 года назад
Here's how to perform a lower leg service on your Rockshox fork. This includes replacing the wiper seals, foam rings crush washers and oil. . It's really important to pay attention to the service intervals for your fork otherwise the performance and life span of the fork will be affected. Rockshox recommend every 50 hours of riding you should perform a lower leg service.
Installing Fox Fork Volume Spacers
Просмотров 1583 года назад
Here's how to fit volume spacers to a Fox fork, a video I made a little while back - Fitting volume spacers in a fork means it will “ramp up” more toward the end of the travel, taking more force to compress, and resisting bottom outs more. The model of your Fox fork has to have a top cap that's compatible with the volume spacers, as some older models aren't. #bikemechanic #bicyclemechanic #ride...

How to fit Rockshox Fork Bottomless Tokens (Volume spacers)
Просмотров 9863 года назад
Fitting 'bottomless tokens' to a Rockshox fork is really simple, so here's a video on how to do it....For models of Lyrik, Yari, Pike, Reba, Boxxer, Sid, Revelation and Bluto that have the option to add tokens. -Record your current air pressure by attaching a shock pump to the air valve. Then release all of the air. -Remove the top cap with either a cassette lock ring socket or a 24mm socket (f...

Facing a Bottom Bracket Shell - Parktool BFS -1
Просмотров 7 тыс.4 года назад
If paint is covering the face of your bottom bracket shell it's really important to remove it with a facing tool. This will prevent your bottom bracket from creaking as it allows a flush fit to the shell. The facing tool I use is the ParkTool BFS-1. I haven't written instructions for this because there are some great instructions on the @parktoolblue website 👍 #bikemechanic #bicyclemechanic #dh...
How to fit a Shimano 11 Speed Chain
Просмотров 49 тыс.4 года назад
If you're fitting a new Shimano 11 speed chain to your road bike, here's a few tips on how to do it 👍 -Before you start make sure you fit the chain with the text facing you, as the chain is designed to run in a specific direction. -Shift the front derailleur over the big chain ring, then lay the chain over the the big chain ring and the biggest cassette sprocket. -Pull one end of the chain tigh...
How to Clean Disc Brake Pads and Rotors - STOP BRAKE SQUEAKING!
Просмотров 90 тыс.4 года назад
Here's the technique I use to clean squeaking disc brake pads and rotors when they are contaminated. 3 things you need: disc brake cleaner, a clean rag and some very fine grit sand paper or wet and dry paper. -Remove the wheel then the pads. -On one pad at a time closely spray disc brake cleaner onto the pad to loosen the dirt and oil. -Wipe the freshly sprayed pad back and forth on a clean rag...
At 0:17 the washer should have been put directly against the shell. Then the spring can be braced against the washer rather than against the threaded guides that were screwed into the shell.
Hi Do you have to adjust the rebound settings before taking apart ? Thanks
No
Done in 10 min. It works perfectly. I thought I needed new pads, but I’m still good for a while. Thank you !!!
whats the park tool device that you are using to hold the wheel while cleaning the disc rotors?
what if I don't have sand paper
Very good. Thank you!
Correct Direction from beginning to end, always grip pull/twist outwards on bicycles, as you twist the throttle on your motorcycle inwards.
Lovely Canyon, Canyon!!!😍😍😍😍😍
What does bed mean? I not the bed u sleep in. I mean the last step in this video. What does it mean
i think it meant like to test them
Ty@@mart4144
Does it matter Russ 😂……..don’t use oil and make sure no bits of grit etc.👍😎🚴♂️
Thanks
Don't spray so much. One short spray is plenty enough. You need to clean it mechanically afterwards anyways and many brake cleaners are toxic.
Perfect!!!! Thank you.🚴🚴🚴
This is fake, I use alcohol 100% for cleaning rotor and my brakes dont work, what to do?
i used Listerine mouthwash and worked perfectly
Thank youu ♥
Just buy new pear they are cheap
Thank you. Helpful. Concise. Surprisingly not everyone on youtube is a pro cyclist. Who knew?
Can it be done with WD40 for cleaning?
no
HELL NO YOU WILL KILL YOUR BRAKE
No ! WD40 is not good for this. Use a brake cleaner.
no no no
Thank you for creating a Fluff free how to video.
Kurwa mać nie działa
what spray were you using to clean it?
Can you clean the body and damper shaft with brake cleaner or what should you use
0 help
how could it be made any more simple. suggest you leave all maintenance to your local bike shop
What grit sand paper should I use
I expect a 250 grit sand paper. Or a fine grit for 3M sand sponge
Very good. nice idol
removing aircan that way could be dangerous! Worth a rag through eyelet. not right for all SD. Important to note the orientation of the 2 air piston glide rings, thick and thin.
The blue one its the stroke?
except the rotation on the tops is in the wrong direction. you wrap towards the rider on top because of the pulling motion when climbing on the tops is rotating the bar tape towards the rider. so in your example it would be loosening the wrap.
Dude, I have Rock Shox Deluxe Select, but it is too big for my bike, what should I do?
you literally oriented the larger oreo seals and spacers opposite of what it was when you opened it. they have an orientation and taper for a reason lol
You skipped steps compared to the rockshox guide. If i follow this to a tee, Id miss out on replacing multiple seals that are included in the service kit. Appreciate the effort but it only left me confused.
What steps?
I followed this video and didn’t have any seals left over
This shox doesnt have compresion adjust knob?
Pede ba yan sa Road bike?
This is the video!
9/10 video as it shows all the steps, but NOT how it sounded AFTER the fix. I too have a bicycle with a baby elephant screaming in agony when I apply the breaks - just as in the intro of this video - but I would have liked to have heard proof that it actually did anything. WIll try this later today and I am quite confident that it will do "something" - atleast untill I get a set of new pads in the mail.
Well. What to say? I did the brake-job and started with the rear and I was amazed by how well it worked. It was quite a mouse and spurred on by this success I did the front. Assembled everythng and tok it for a short ride aaaaand... it howls like a baby elephant beaten around the trunk with a screaming banshee. The old brakepads where horrible before I cleaned them, but after brake cleaner and sanding them on 800 grit wet/dry paper using alcohol they looked like new. Cleaned the rotors and there was no more black that came off of them and they felt like they were new. So, what gives? What I hear is one thing, but when it howls you can also feel the whole bicycle vibrating between the legs so is this some clue to what else this could be? Rotors seems to run true and the pads are really gripping and biting into them and the stopping power is really really good. Any ideas?
@@GoingShirtlesshi im not sure how bikes work entirely, but maybe your break isn’t centered so when the wheel is attached it may be grinding on one side. As far as how to adjust it, i have no clue. But thats something i saw in another video’s comments as I need to do some maintenance myself. Also hope you figured it out otherwise in this 9 months, but if not please feel free to share what it was cause i have the same problem.
@@GoingShirtless So you're saying it worked really well for brake performance, but they've gotten load AF? Did it go away with time?
@@RadoHudran Sadly no,. They brakes are grabby as hell but they are stil quite annoyingly loud. It is hard to pinpoint the source of the noise as they do sound different now and I feel this is more a vibration than the actuall pads making the noise. I wonder if there could be something done in the way of decoupling the calipers from the frame by adding a rubber o-ring or just a piece of old innertyre tubing fashioned to be a spacer of sorts.
Did you try sanding the disc break?
whats up guys! Can i use rock shox Deluxe for trail/enduro riding?
Nice job!
Thanks!
What bar tape is this? Looks comfy!
Pro comp tape
After doing it myself several times and seeing tons of videos about it..... there's no correct way to wrap it around, they all do it differently (50-50)
Yep! And everyone that show it says that their method is the right one.
Amazing video! Top notch job! My first rebuild and it went super smooth thanks to you!
Thanks! Glad it went smoothly
Okay, that's perfection. Bar taping as art. Even stuck the landing on the bar plug. Bravo!
Nothing easy or simple about this 😂 i could rebuild an engine easier
I need to reduce stroke from 65mm to 57.5. Will these spacers work? I think I need a 7.5mm spacer but I understand its one of the blue one you see on the video but I can’t find the piece for sale
No these are air volume spacers, not travel reduction spacers.
Thanks! I was able to quickly put on my new chain :D I used chain CN-HT701-11 on my 5800 105 drive train which is compatible per Shimano's compatibility chart on their website.
Thanks!
Hi do u know how many links have chain for 11 speed ultegra 6800?thanks
Part CN-HT701-11 has 126 links. I put this on my 5800 105 drive train. Compatible per Shimano's compatibility chart on their website
Thanks, simple and to the point. I appreciate.
wish I could get the electric tape so clean on the end like this 😞
Impressed an just a little turned on! 🤣
Best way to wrap cos this is exactly how I do it including the direction of the tape at the start and finish.
congratulations for the video, You have a table with the pressures of the Rock shox rear suspension 40 MM Dabon air. She is in a spark Rc 2021 , Vertical position. Thanks
Hej great video, i just wonder if the way the shock is built today is different than when you posted the video or can i put the token the same way? Thanks
Thanks mate, yes it's exactly the same
