Hi folks, Bhawani and I decided to visit Marine Drive on a very rainy day and at high tide. We can get the high tide timings for a particular day on the net. And we went there accordingly. What an experience ! It was raining continuously, so we both had our raincoats on, I also had an umbrella to protect the mobile phone while recording the video. Hi Sudarshan, Arup here. First of all... Throw away The Umbrella. In my memory I have visited BNP as it is called 2 times. Once when I had given class 12 exams and my Mama was in Indian Navy. Then I had taken the bus safari to see The Majestic lions. We were lucky to see the lions. In all there were 7 or 8 lions that we could see. They were very big and had come and surrounded our minibus. We were very scared. The guide told us to keep quite. They may overturn the bus and we could get injured very badly. Suddenly on their own they left. The 2nd time I visited we walked the way you are showing that too in the rainy season. In Kanheri cave, the sculpture of Lord Buddha is mesmerizing. It was built by the Satvahana ruler, Gautamiputra Satkarni. There is also a cave where the Buddhist monks used to sleep. Rest the greenery is amazing. We were attacked by monkeys as they wanted to eat our snacks. So, yo need to be careful with food packets.😅

Superb Sudarshan. What a magnificent view, probably the biggest gathering of birds in whole of mumbai and surroundings. There were 3 wetlands in seawoods where flamingos use to come in such big numbers. Unfortunately, now flamingos come to only one wetland in such big numbers. Because of manipulation on control of water inlet to the other two wetlands due to vested interests of some organizations for not seeing flamingos there. So you have documented the last wetland where flamingos come. Hopefully, this will reverse by support of people to realize the importance of biodiversity on this dynamic planet.
