How do they compare to the sionyx pro?
@@lawrencerodgers9845 they are literally about equivalent
Did you make this video with one tube or two tubes?
@@claudiomez lol i never used any tubes. It’s digital night vision
I swear every video about these references goodnitegear - makes me think there’s some shilling going on here
7:09 bug
I've heard some complaints about the battery pack being on top of the device. Does that make it difficult to mount and be at eye level on a helmet?
from other videos, including the distributor... the sensors are the same, just the form factor/buttons/hud/display screen are different??? can you do a comparison?
Can you remove the rear lense this way as well? I have something inside from the factory that I need to remove.
@@davidtaing6045 no
They should have just called this the NVG30M or pro
lol its because they are the same as the nvg30 , its not an upgrade the circuitry is the same
That looks great, so many of these digital NV cameras are just noise when looking at the sky where as here you can clearly see the stars.
LOL wow thats a great review ...lol very technical .....I will go buy 3 pair now ....NOT !

So…how do you like it helmet mounted?
Useless if you can’t mount it properly
What we all want to know is how well does it compare to the NVG30?
@@billysherman2702 electronic performance is much better and lenses. But when it comes to night vision performance it’s identical
@@billysherman2702 if you have a 30 i would keep it. But if you dont get the 50

@@deadspeed6679 yes I use the original Mount that it came with in the box and put it up to my bump it and it seemed to work pretty fine with no issue for me however I have not yet used the Wilcox mount
@ how’s the eye line of sight ?
@deadspeed6679 pretty decent
Thanks for the review. Have you tried mounting it on a helmet yet? Another RUclipsr had difficulty mounting the NVG50 to a Wilcox. I’m still hanging with my NVG-30. Far and away better than I expected. The 50mm lens upgrade, is just outstanding. Anyone who says digital night vision is not viable for real-world defense, hasn’t used the NVG-30 and now NVG-50. These units really are tip of the spear as to where digital night vision is headed.
@@Mark-et8vh yes the mountain that it comes with works perfectly fine unfortunately for most helmets with L4G24 mounting systems, unfortunately may not work with the Wilcox mount unfortunately it is because the battery causing it to be lower by half an inch below the eye need a new JR mounting system compatible with those type of helmets to be able to lift upwards towards the eye. GoodNiteGear has been reimbursing people who have already purchased the NVG 50. For the mounting system. and added a wild game plus mount as compensation His word exactly from communicating with GoodNiteGear himself honest truth GoodNiteGear: “Yeah if they promised a functional L4G24 bino setup I see where he's coming. I thought it would work too but after further testing it didn't work with most of my helmets. The few customers of mine that bought it, I am refunding the bridge cost and giving them a free wildgameplus bridge as compensation” In regards to RUclipsr *Shot In The Dark About his issue with the NVG 50
@@Mark-et8vh and honestly, I completely agree with your statement with the digital night vision it’s better than having no night vision. And honestly, in my pure honest truthful opinion both the NVG 50 and the 30 are absolutely amazing units for the price. They are from experiencing with the NVG for a week now after testing the unit come to my surprise. It’s actually much better than the NVG 30, but when it comes to performance and night vision, it’s identical. OLED display is not bright. It’s comfortable to the human eye compared to the NVG30, the gyroscopic compass is extremely accurate. The IR light has been upgraded despite it’s not focus but it’s much more energy efficient and is actually better than the NVG 30. The internal electronics and CPU over has been updated. It’s basically NVG-30 2.0
I saw something like this with my NVG30 just after I got it.
Is the latency any better than the nvg30?
@@billytube325 dude…. Yes… absolutely! The internal electronics are an upgrade in the Compass is super super accurate other than that the performance is about the same as the NVG 30, but it is a hair better and darker, but it’s not that much of an upgrade from the 30. If you do not have I highly recommend getting the NVG 50. Its an absolute awesome little NVG for the price.
@@billytube325 so far i have been liking it, but there is a few things i dont like. Which may be a potential problem for people with L4G24 mount on most helmets because of the battery pack being at the top will be a potential problem for Wilcox mounting system. It’s about an inch and a half below the eye where it’s supposed to be when mounted on a Wilcox mount. But works completely fine perfectly fine with the amount that it comes with. Stargazing performance is absolutely amazing obviously GEN 2+ and GEN3 NVG will outperform by a huge number in stargazing.
For those that do not have an NVG 30 yet I highly suggest the NVG 50 as first buy budget digital night vision. You can check out the product below at goodnitegearshop.com/ Cupon code KyzoFox7420

NVG50 seems to be the best way to go for affordable digital. The only gripe I have is the downgrade to the more unusual battery of 18350 instead of keeping the 18650. It helps with form factor but I'd rather have the bigger battery pack.
@@milkncookie hey no I’ll be honest with you despite 18350 batteries, they did upgrade the internal electronics. The NVG 50 is actually a lot more energy efficient than 30 especially when it comes to turning on the IR.

How well does it see the stars? NVG30 has quite a bit of coma.
@@starsandnightvision pure honesty from personal experience with the NVG30 for almost a year. It can see the stars very well, and is an absolutely cool unit to stargaze with. You can see satellites, the galaxy belt, and stars you cant see and yes…. As well as “REDACTED” objects in the sky. Especially in heavy light pollution cities, its still can see the stars extremely well. For much better experience and clearity. I suggest spending a little extra on the NVG50. @@KyzoFox Yeah that's my channel, thanks m8. I prefer the NVG10 for stargazing. Stars are pinpoint sharp all around, unlike my NVG30. Coma is when you see stars getting stretched and distorted, especially outside of the centre. Unfortunately, the NVG line of cameras don't support the UVC USB standard so you can't hook it up to your PC/laptop to get a stable videofeed (only storage).
@ oh ok yea, i see what you mean. Yea thats what i didnt like about the nvg30. Yes it does cover that issue but also the way the lenses are designed. The very center is very very clear in the center of lense in the NVG50, but on the edges yes they are blurry. Simular to the human eye, everything is clear in the center of your vision but the peripheral vision is blurry. Idk that will bother you? But yea its very clearly

@@GoodNiteGear no problem man! Thanks for reviewing the vid 😀
Really helpful test. I'm also eyeing this NVG50. How is the battery life compared to NVG30? I worry that since NGV50 uses two 18350, the total battery capacity is much less than a single 18650. Also, does it work with a single 18350 battery?
@@y.l.6229 I’m actually glad you asked cause last night after making another video. I ended up staying up most the night playing with it and it took from 10 p.m. at night all the way till like 5 AM to die. Unless you use the IR light constantly. The battery pack attachment is a huge bump in power runout time. The IR light is way more energy efficient by a longshot compared to the NVG 30
@KyzoFox Sounds like the NVG50's electronics have been improved in terms of efficiency. Thank you for sharing your observations.
@ yes lenses have been completely upgraded so it sees way better which honestly am my opinion from lots of use on the NVG 30, the NVG 30s Lenses are a problem for me. It was pretty clear, especially when I first used it. I was amazed by how clear it was, but I also had a couple of problems because I wear glasses and I still had a slight of astigmatism while looking through the lens. The NV G5 solve that problem and they fixed that which is a huge plus. The infrared light is much better than the NVG30
@@y.l.6229 I’m fixing to upload a completely hundred percent honest video very soon about how I feel about the NVG50 vs NVG30
@@y.l.6229 and honestly idk if does work either one single battery 🧐 never tried… interesting statement
I have neither the nvg30 or 50. Is it more worth getting a single 50 for $550 or to spend the extra couple hundred and get a duel nvg 30 setup? I'm finding nvg30s for 400, and even less from some sketchy sites. Found a good deal for the 30, helmet and wide angle FOV for 550. I could probably build a duel 30 setup for under 800.
My pure honest opinion and I’m being absolutely honest as possible and I’ve had a lot of time with the NVG 30 and I absolutely love it but because I now have the NVG 50 I highly recommend that you buy the NVG 50 trust me. It is actually better than the NVG 30. Yes it’s exactly like the NVG30 and has the same power. However, it is much clear with the lenses because the lenses are better. The LCD screen is a much higher quality and better HD. The infrared light is significantly better and is also highly energy efficient compared to the NVG30. It would die much faster on level one IR or higher. The software is better and this is actually smaller. Overall, the NVG 50 is the best option and personally I usually tend to stick with just one monocular mainly because I don’t really need to look through two night vision devices personally because I like to have one eye in and one eye out
Please let me know if you guys would like to see more extensive NVG videos like this please let me know down in the comments below, thanks! 😊
