Truck Toolbox Tool Storage Alternative for Tacoma, Tundra or any Truck with Cargo Rails

I came up with this cheap solution which has proven to be a great truck tool storage alte...

    hmm, I always thought it was a 325, anyhow it's a 5.3 (5300). The coil packs/Bracket , he should have just taken that off first as a unit...as we see he removed it for reinstallation of cover! Also, you should have got the Felpro kit with the gaskets for the cover bolts and replaced them as well...as old as it is (and you did have oil leaks!) why would you reuse those old bolt gaskets?? Good vid gentlemen!

    • @joeysautodiy7740
      @joeysautodiy7740 11 месяцев назад

      325 is actually correct I misspoke in the video. I bought a kit and was under the impression that the cover bolt gaskets were included, they were not that's a mistake on my part.

    • @2Ramrod2
      @2Ramrod2 11 месяцев назад

      @@joeysautodiy7740 Yeah I just did mine. That Gasket kit is Fel Pro 50504 R-1 (You got 50504 I believe) with all gaskets. I got a 99 Silverado Z71, and the reason I said that is because when I went to replace the rubber bolt grommets the old ones looked good but they were not...stuck a screw driver in there to work it off and one they all just broke into pieces. I also replaced both PVC and grommet (Yes I still use OE covers and unlike videos I've seen, the left on mine has 3 BIG drain holes in baffle underneath, and someone said these PVC's are not suppose to rattle, mine was OE and it sure did rattle so I don't know what in heck they were talking abou lol they said not to replace them with a parts store one because of that lol). I cleaned mine up real good and painted Caliper red...pretty !

    I just replaced my 07 rockers and cab corners. What a pain… I wound up cutting all the old out, oil sprayed the inner rockers and welded the new stuff. I was a little extra particular and overall, I spend four solid days. Again, cut out the old, oil sprayed, installed the new. I applied chip guard on the entire bottom half. I hope it lasts a while… what a crappy design by GM.

    The only other thing I would suggest is using great stuff (expandable) foam inside the rockers.the benefits to doing that are strength, integrity and to keep some crap out of there.if your not going the patch panel method for a whole rocker it gives you a foundation to use fiberfill..rookies out there like me..DO NOT use Bondo anywhere.it just isn't meant for this use fiberfill.It's a million times stronger will last and the only issue it's working time is fairly fast.you got about ten mins..usually a little less actually.good luck everyone.
