"Pixel Shadows" A lo-fi groove using sounds from the Casio SA-20 🎹👽
Просмотров 4452 месяца назад
This is a track I created one night by recording a series of phrases, loops and ideas and arranging them in post using Logic Pro. I used my Casio SA-20, running into the same pedal setup I use in most of my videos. I recorded a couple of passages with the Casio SK-1 to get the portamento bend effect. For the visuals, I generated a series of dystopian keyboard worlds using MidJourney. I create t...
"Sandstorm Horizon" Lo-fi jam with the Casio MT-36
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.2 месяца назад
A gritty lo-fi jam that felt like it should be playing in a dystopian dune buggy in the year 2500. Played and composed by Kyle Ussery in Colorado. This keyboard has been in my family for as long as I can remember, and it's a joy to create music with it. These are all effects pedals I had for other uses. Recently I decided to rig them up with the Casio and it was magical. I hope you enjoy! Pedal...
🌴 Casio Chillwave jam

🌴 🐟 I've been in a tropical mood lately. I recently scored this Yamaha DD-5 drum machine from a thrift store, and this breezy tune flowed right out when I turned on the "Pops 1" beat and started experimenting. Something about these chords and melodies make me want to wear linen and lounge by the ocean. I hope you enjoy! Played by Kyle Ussery on the Casio SA-20 and Yamaha DD-5 Digital Drums. Ped...
"Mineralogy" Casio SK-1 and Viewmaster ambient jam
Просмотров 9573 месяца назад
I recently came into a View-Master and several reels from a relative. I was immediately inspired by the look of the photos, the 3D images of course, and the beautiful graphic design and illustration. I decided to make a video celebrating all of this, and here's where I landed. Maybe the next one will be a 3D video 😎 I hope you enjoy it! Played by Kyle Ussery on a Casio, Casio SK-1 Pedals used i...
Music Created in Adobe After Effects
Просмотров 3783 месяца назад
Using the humble "Tone" effect, and built in effects like reverb, delay, and flanger, this is what I came up with entirely inside of Adobe After Effects. There are no keyframes in this project, it is all generated using expressions. I utilized ChatGPT to write expressions that are way beyond my capability to generate all of the music. This is all in the key of C, in the Lydian Mode. It never re...
"High and Dry" Lo-fi Radiohead Cover with Casio MT-36

I've been experimenting with this Radiohead tune for years and decided this would be a cool representation of it. The chords allow for ample layering and textures, and I love the melodies. "Bossa On The Beach" Lo-Fi Bossa Jam
Просмотров 122 тыс.3 месяца назад
This song was inspired by the arrival of warmer weather and the lovely Bossa Nova beat supplied by the Casio MT-36. I decided to give it some extra tropical flare with the sound machine. Played and composed by Kyle Ussery in Colorado. This sound machine has been kicking around the house for years unused, so I opened it up, and wired a 1/8th inch output jack to it. It has numerous sounds that wi...

I know absolutely zero about synths but i just ordered a reface dx. Being a guitar player i think it will be a great way to expand sound.....and also use up the old pedals i have hanging around. Great vid. It was exactly what i was looking for😊

Thanks youtube for putting this video on my feed I just start playing a synth. I mainly play guitar, I use similar guitar pedals like yours, boss delay pedals and a small size synth(a yamaha reface cp) with build-in effects. It was truly inspiring seeing you combining these gears in a way I never thought of before Love the dd-8 drum machine part and using eq pedal as filter effect is brilliant Also your pedal board is elegant Thanks for uploading, gonna definitely check on other videos of yours too

Incredible!! May I ask what all brands of cables you use? I’m looking for small jack cables like these especially going out of the tap tempo of the DD-8 to the tap switch.

I have a bunch of different cables. However, I do like these Rock Stock cables because the plugs are tiny and round. It’s helpful when real estate is limited on the board. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09CS3487S?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I had the good kind of dumb imagination of colabing with you lol. I haven't thought of myself as a good guitar player till I found Lofi and I find that when I mess around, that I find that I like the way I solo. I don't use fx as I am too broke. My gear consist of a Epiphone Les Paul and a Kona Bass amp.

*Does anyone know where I can find a SPATIALIZER pedal, where I can dial in where stereo separation can take place?* Basically I want bass to remain mono but the higher up the frequency the more stereo separation occurs. I'd like dial how much, and when it occurs gradually.

How do you exactly use the A and B channel on the RC1. Is it to overdub a second recording without destroying the length of the first? Do you have a video recommendation for the right usage. That my main problem to properly use the pedal

    • @TrimPathMusic
      @TrimPathMusic Месяц назад

@TrimPathMusic when I record a first layer, then record a second one and end a little earlier than the first one, then the loop will keep the second, shorter length, so the first one is chopped short. You just record another layer, but the length of the first one stays the same

On the RC-5 you could link the master volume with a midi controller :) Also if you push up the reverb pedal a bit you could squeeze a mooer E7 under it for some extra sounds (it also has an arp) ;)
