Mahindra ROXOR Frame Rail Fatigue - Steering Box Flexing Repair - On The Rox Fabrication
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.4 года назад
In this video, Dana with On The Rox shows the fatigue and cracking in the frame rail on his Mahindra ROXOR after a couple of years of playing hard. Performance upgrades and oversize (37") tires likely contributed to the wear and tear on the frame rail. Dana welds on reinforcement plates on the inside and the outside and remounts the steering box. After a thorough offroad testing, the flexing is...

What size tire and lift?
2" leveling kit and fender kits, 37" tires extended wheelbase by 3"
@@ontheroxfabrication8393 thank you! Working on getting me one maybe 2025? and will reach out for help with some mods.
FANTASTIC ❤
that's awesome
You guys should build a Roxor like a WWII half-track. I'm pretty sure just adding tracks to the rear and tires up front, it wouldn't sit level, so something will have to be done to address that issue. Back in 1991-1992 I spent over a year in Antarctica at the South Pole and McMurdo Station on the coast, and they had one-ton Fords, F-350's, and they also sent down a couple sets of four tracks to mount on a couple vehicles to try them out. They worked, BUT they totally destroyed the power steering in three out of three vehicles we mounted them on. After the 3rd vehicle was ruined as far as PS goes, they decided to take them off and go back to tires only. I always thought the half-track idea would be great, with chains on the front tires. Building a Roxor like this, I think would be doable if the leveling issue could be addressed. Keep up the great work.
Just Purring… great vehicle
I wish we had a FRACTION of those trails in Minnesota!

👍
Wow 👍🏻
Tire chains? Save yourself some wear and tear on your rig.
Need to see some of these with linked suspensions.
That's the first nice skid plate I've seen for these. All the others look like something someone cobbled together in their garage.
Excellent reason to use cylinder assist, as it will take a lot of load off the box and frame. Any info on people tapping the factory box for cylinder hoses?
It's amazing how silent these are even after all those tuning, gives you some quality time with you,car and the nature .
I have not seen rear locking hubs before. What’s that all about.
It is an option with our rear full float kit to use drive flanges or lock-out hubs. With the lock-out hubs, you can flat tow your Roxor.
One word ... "AWESOME"
Thanks for the info. Is this just on the back axle? Or front as well?
Just the back.
Where can I get those skid plates
If you are refering to the belly pan it is a one-off piece this Roxor has had a tummy tuck.
Very cool. Thank you. I have a question: I’m considering getting a new Roxor and I’ve heard that parts and service from the factory is poor. Is this true and is this a problem for you?
Yes it has been hard to get parts the rumor is they are waiting on containers to be unloaded and a lack of employees is the problem. All the local dealers have been receiving new units.
How about adding a folding windshield?
Have a 2010 Thar RH drive and enjoy nature as you folks do. Never snows over here, very beautiful and challenging video. Like the accessories with roof rack and all, for the love off Roxor,s and Thar,s.
that 2.5l turbo dsl is a torque monster n the ones with mechanical fuel injection pump has evn more torque. we have that older version(mech inj pump) of this engine here in india has massive torque.
I've enjoyed watching the video several times and it is a treat every time 🌻

That tiny diesel...is goood torque....torque...torque
That intro 😂
Good to know.
I don’t know if mine is going to fit on some of those trails when it’s done
Absolute dream 👌👍🤩 send these after market stuff to India, too many Mahindra's here😁
I have thar new model it's amazing .
what a beautiful build
I'd rather have heard the Roxor's diesel than the music though.
how much this costed you?
ithink it is around $16k US .
that looks like fun
Noise is music ...
why off roading looks easy with roxor
Roxor rocks
I think it needs tracks instead of tyres.
Is it just me or anyone else kinda bit annoyed with all these Indian bots comments? Yes, this is Indian brand Mahindra, but we don't have Roxor in India. good lord shut up. Besides, Most of the original parts, customisation are all Made in USA. Dear Indians Thar is your & Roxor is of USA get over it.. Arrgh!
😀😀😀... Man... Chill, they are very excited and feel proud of it... Let them have it..,
@@rkey4388 I am Indian myself, but sometimes I feel we get overboard with our excitement level. Some shut up call is necessary 😀
Ya it's irritating but the way you said is just unwarranted... So chill most don't even buy Jeep like vehicle but just enjoy small talk and their comment says lot.. you don't have to be rude, that's how the world is when they like something.
Is this fatigue a normal thing or it has something to do will quality issues?
It just standard fatigue from oversized tires and lots of offroading.
🔥
That thing is awesome
I would love to have one.
what is just the cost in all aftermarket parts installed?
Nice, clean looking build!
Still drive my 2010 Thar witch is basically the same besides the front suspension here in SA, love the sound of that engine.
Did you have lockers on?
Nice metallic looking hard cab
Are you going to do the other side of the vehicle as well, or will you wait until similar fatigue develops there on the right side?
I don't believe there's a steering box on the right side, so that side's frame rail shouldn't be subjected to the same stresses that the left side is
