    Kia ora from Aotearoa (New Zealand). Wow this was the best, informative video I have found so far & I've seen alot! Thank you soooo much for making it, & not only have you made a well explained video, you have also made it encouraging for me. I've had my scroll saw for two years this month 😢 & haven't used it once 😢. I suffer from real bad depression & struggle with believing in myself. Im hoping i can change my thought patterns change coz i really wanna start using it & putting my ideas in to action. Thank you again for taking your time to create, share & encourage, im looking forward to watching more from you. I hope my message finds you & your family well ❤

    Have a good look at this Wen scroll saw as it is a generic 16” ( 406mm )scroll saw that comes under a multitude of different brand names all over the globe and are basically all the same . The quality of electrical parts might differ and might come with different add-ons , colours, brand names etc. Have a good look at the castings and table as they are all identical and probably made in a country with less scruples. Buyer beware .

    I'm a big Delta fan. I had a Delta 2 speed 16" scroll saw that I bought 25 years ago and it was a head of it's time. You would of LOVED it! Model Model 40-560. NO vibration what so ever, super fast blade changing, faster than anything on the market today. Had to sell all my large power tools as we downsized and sold our home 2 years ago. Anyways, the Delta saw has some of the same features as the DeWalt, only $100 cheaper.

      I have that exact same scroll saw...the 40-560C (C means made in Canada). The one thing I don't have is the hold down foot.(no idea what happened to it! lol) Unfortunately they don't make parts for this saw, but otherwise I'm quite happy with it.

    I enjoy reading comments and learning what others think of different tools. I have had my Dremel scroll saw for about 20 years, probably have 1000 hours on it, and love it. I had a chance to buy a barely used Dewalt several years ago so thought I would "upgrade". Although it is a nice saw, I did not like it and sold it within weeks. Compared to my Dremel, I found it miserable to change blades. There was no dust collection. Also, my Dremel will cut thicker wood. I am sad that Dremel hasn't made a scroll saw in years and when I eventually have to replace it, there are few options without spending $1200 to $1500.

    What would your choice be between the Wen and a Ryobi ? Thanks

    • @StrongerByGraceDesigns
      @StrongerByGraceDesigns 7 месяцев назад

      I haven't used the Ryobi. At a quick glance, I think I would choose the Wen because of the tension lever. The ryobi is a knob similar to the central machinery saw that I used, and I didn't like the knob. But again, I can't say for sure because I haven't used that one.

    • @StrongerByGraceDesigns

      The only reverse tooth blade I have tried is the Olsen PGT double reverse tooth blades. I found they cut mdf easier, but dull, really fast.

    Nice! All scroll saw blades fit in jigsaws? Will you give an opinion on entry scroll saws, vids? I'm debating a few & getting nowhere. The makita sj401 has all levers at the front which I love & pinless! TY! 😃

    • @StrongerByGraceDesigns
      @StrongerByGraceDesigns 7 месяцев назад

      Scroll saw blades do not fit in a jigsaw. The blades I am using in the video are jig saw blades made for scrolling. Have you watched my comparison video on the Wen scroll saw and the Dewalt scroll saw? I highly recommend pinless blades, so that is great!!

  • @StrongerByGraceDesigns

  • @cambuxton6835
    @cambuxton6835 7 месяцев назад

    I can not afford a Dewalt. So I got a cheaper WEN 3921. Now it is not the absolute best one out there. But it is not as big as some other models out there, and it costs a lot less. It does have a vibration issue, but it can easily be fixed. And you should really not go over 2 inch thick wood in the soft wood department. And less than that with hardwoods. But I am a beginner and do not want hardwood yet. So the WEN I got will work fine for my intentions. The type of scroll saw you should buy is the kind that suits your needs and your budget best.

    I have a pretty highend hawk 26in saw. I got lucky and found it at a auction for $125. I like it but the absolute best saw I have personal ever used is the Shopsmith one. If you ever see one online used for cheep grab it. You can get them free standing that do not require the Mark 5. But I do love the shopsmith mark 5 too. I even made my own back before I got the hawk. It is one of the only videos on my channel. Scroll saws are a lot of fun. I started on a scroll saw at age 8 40 years ago

    Great job with features of both. Like to see a yin/yang $/$$$ comparison. I have always had trouble with tight turns with blades snapping and burning of the wood from friction. Can you please tell me what blades you are using for such tight and effortless turns. I use pinned blades. Much appreciated.

    • @StrongerByGraceDesigns
      @StrongerByGraceDesigns 8 месяцев назад

      Sorry to hear that! Few things to try... check your tension. If it's too low, your blade will want to drift. Look ahead as you cut. Also, you could try a higher speed. I think you can be more accurate going faster versus too slow. Corners can be a little trickier. Have you watched my short on cutting corners. I am using modified geometry blades. Different blades can also provide different results. I hope this helps, and it does take alot of practice.😊 What type of wood are you cutting?
