omggg its mEEEE
Thanks again dude!
Eat your vegetables
My brain was so attached to drawing till I because depressed and I just stoped drawing
The worst are sellers with "70 cats" for $3, 50 pumpkins for 2.50. It's all pixar copycats and spammers who generate a castle then click regenerate 1,000 times. Etsy allows Ai-Generated content in their policy but the user has to display it in the item's DESCRIPTION, which they don't.
Thank you so much for your wonderful video 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
It looks like he's doing the flour sack method.
If they made enough money to live as artists, they wouldn't be selling art at conventions. It's pretty self-explanatory. It's just a sad reality for us artists.
Isn’t selling art at conventions still making money off their art ?? It’s just an extra revenue stream
At the beginning i though RossDraws was the worst advicing, i am happy i stayed to listen the whole interview. He did say good things at the end.
Yo do a interview with Dylan choonhachat would love to see that
Steve is GGGggrrreeattt!!!
I love watching and rewatching the old proko videos at these cons. Thanks for this!
this guy came from medsmap course 100%
Color gets the credit but valule does all the work!
this guy is 100% on the same train of thought as me artistically. what hes expressing is right on the money for people who lean more on the art side of concept art/design.
"hopefully you fall into the state. another way is alcohol. lol" another way is actually prayer and meditation. its actually lifechanging for art and beyond
Every artists is their own biggest critic
in my humble opinion, talent speeds up your learning curve but does not guarantee success
Good to see David
Bro is drawing from the bones, damn
I always wonder how many popular artists sell fanart without getting slayed by the original rights holder because of copyright infringement. Or better: How sell these artist their fanart without copyright infringement.
I went to a coffee shop, and met people that also make art. I made friends. This dude 🎉
The fear of working at Macdonalds forever is a good motivator.
I'm sorry, but the idea that "talent doesn't help" is just silly. Talent is real. People start out with proficiency in different skills. That doesn't mean there is no hard work involved. Usain Bolt still had to work bloody hard to be able to run as fast as he does, but he does have a talent for running and it is helping him. If I followed the exact same training set that Usain Bolt does, I would definitely be a faster runner than I am today, but I would never ever reach the same speed as him. Personally I have always had a talent for writing. Words come to me very easily and I can write pretty darn long texts and have always received top marks with much less effort than most of my peers. That doesn't mean that I haven't had to work to refine my skill, it doesn't mean that I don't have anything to learn or improve on, it doesn't mean that I never have periods where I stumble or struggle. Talent doesn't mean that someone is born a master of their craft, but claiming that a person born with perfect pitch doesn't have an easier time learning music than someone who was born tone deaf is just stupid and patronising.
@@GreenUnicorn06 it’s more that at a certain point the external validation someone gets for being talented isn’t enough at a certain point to push through the difficult parts. No matter what you’re going to face rejection, even if you’re the most talented person in the world. “Talent doesn’t help” is a little bit of a crude version of “having talent, money, or connections still means you need to work incredibly hard and learn to deal with rejection”.
needed this! thanks
This video could have avoided WWII
great video so far, make sure the mic is even further away from both of you guys next time.
I really dont get how artists have a rough time understanding literal boxes lmao
The older I get, the more I understand these ideas. Middle school I compared my drawings to everyone else High school and college I drew just whatever but rejected help Post-college during my 20's I knew I needed guidance and sought it out, but I held too strictly to the rules I learned. I'm 30 now and this year has been all about personal growth which has led to growth in my art. Perspective shifts. Dissatisfaction with my current position. I've started to take control of my life instead of falling into whatever job and drifting along... The longer I think about my thoughts now and my fear when I was younger... its one of those things that I don't think anyone could have taught me. But I'd love to be able to try to teach that lesson to others. Seek real connections, make your own decisions, listen to yourself, be open to others but don't live by them. Experience the world in your own way, but experience it for real and not online. Become you. Not what others have told you to be. This goes to all aspects of life. Be you. Learn. Apply those lessons. Remind yourself about what is truly important. Yeah it's fortune cookie advice... but that doesn't mean the advice is worthless. It's so obvious that we can convince ourselves that it can't be that simple. This is why we often need to teach ourselves these lessons. No one needs to reinvent the wheel, but we all need to teach ourselves the potential uses of the wheel.
People saying they can't hear anything but i hear it just fine
did someone set off a thumper?
I just graduated HS and I've been scared of missing even one day without drawing out of fear of being one day too short of a skill. This video made me realize how much balance is crucial for confidence and to not burn out. Out of all the art advice videos this one felt like it took weight off my chest instead of adding to the load. For sure saving this video as a reminder.
Definitely couldn't agree more i struggled with anatomy so much mainly because i was drawing the head first but drawing the pelvis and torso first really dose help the drawing process
Bruh underestimating Reilly method The body is useless but the head is a real shit
Create and have fun, learn always, teach others, create more, more fun, then die. Righteous life🤙🏽
Like that dancing dude 😄😄😄🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
Super cool that you took the time to interview some of the pros. Thank you for uploading this video 🌷 The advice is appreciated and that you shared it on here.

I have a hard time getting the proportions of the torso correct, and this visual/narration made a things make a bit more sense to me! Thanks!!
Gesture studies and anatomy especially the bone structure and muscle definition studies will make the path of a student clearer. Anatomy charts, gestures, and then master studies and taking the former kickstart knowledge from here then as the coup de grace they can go for Life Drawing or at least drawing fully fleshed out figure drawings from photos trying to capture most of the details. And then specific topics like portrait or drawing a specific subject etc to expand their visual library, visual vocabulary.
steve is the greatest teacher of all time
No, you should censor the cigarette in the painting.
I love this breakdown of art. Please keep doing more of these!
Such a cool lesson that really changed my approach to color when drawing in general. The other piece of advice that was life changing, is to draw shapes instead of drawing lines.
Dynamic yes. Well lit yes. But it’s not particularly colorful
Bro sounds like he's reciting a class presentation that he wrote ten minutes before it was due.
So basically using the same colours but like they give some sense of depth and shape from the value? Idk bro
When painting, colors aren’t nearly as important as correct values. If you can get that working, the rest sorta falls in place
Love your vids bro
I remember Marco Bucci saying something like "mastery of value structure separates the amateurs from the professionals". Or, it might have been something like, "you can always tell an amateur by their poor use of values". Anyway, you get the gist. From then on it was always so obvious to me which artists know what they're doing and those that don't. I've a few artist-friends who don't have control of their values, and I've always wanted to say something to them, but never have.
Love the commentary on the masters like this. Thank you, it’s helpful!
That girl looks just like the late actor Danny Huston
