THE ULTIMATE POOR MAN'S LEICA | Leica X Typ 113 review
Просмотров 33 тыс.4 года назад
So I'm a hobbyist photographer and got a new camera, the Leica X typ 113. I've wanted to use this camera for a while but only found one for sale last month. It's an excellent piece of engineering and produces some great photos. I hope of producing more videos in the near future with different cameras, so subscribe to see new content! Instagram: Negative Mob #Leica #Negative #LeicaX Documentaryp...
The video shots are much better than the photos, which are blown out and as flat as a pancake. No wonder it`an old crappy camera almost 20 years old, not even better than a smartphone.
So many image samples. Love it
The dog pics are incredible! This camera works well closer in.
Still got it ?
what would you suggest for a 21mm option affordable on m8? or even 24/25mm?
so explain to me what the whole IR hysteria is about? do i need to use a filter with my 8.2? what filter? explain please?
Its a wonderful object ! Love it!
How do you focus on moving people or objects with the OVF? Without using the liveview of course... because I don't like it and I find it rather inaccurate. The reason I have a Leica M is to do everything with the OVF. Thanks in advance for your reply, Regards.
That music, yikes!
Loved by those who own one and ridiculed by those who have never had an example ….. I suspect
so does the m8 have the same issue of ccd corrosion that the m9 does?
Hi, No apparently, no problem
Nice vid. The monochrome has a nice Tri-X look to it✌️
Music is too loud
wooo i think this is the camera i need. Leica m8 huh it give a lot of fun.
Nice shots with this classic camera ! ... I've got mine 2 weeks ago and I am in love with the photos it takes, the colours are incredible. Most of my EF glass works great regarding focus, the EF 50 1.2 does not but the 50 1.8 is just fine. I took some shots with the 5D and the EOS R and the EOS R looks a bit "flat" compared to the 5D, straight out or camera. If I want to get the job done quick and reliable: EOS R, if I want to see magic happening: 5D classic. Propably one of the last bits of kit to ever leave the house again! Postproduction: if any: lift up the shadows a tiny bit, bring down the highlights a bit, add a tad of sharpening -> Done ...
I bought the 5D on a whim, mainly because of the price. I'd never had a Canon digital body (or fully frame) and I was curious...Well it's safe to say I fell in love and it's since become my main digital camera. I'll always have it with me. The pictures it produces feel so alive and so rich - I just love it!
Mate discovered your channel after watching your Leica X video, loving the videos!
They look like smartphone photos
how is it that this Camera is 1300+ euro in 2023 :O
Satire?
Wish this was really priced as the "poor man's" Leica. The market moves with trend. As soon as someone makes a video saying something is affordable, the prices seem to shoot up. Especially when it comes to camera gear.
I'll sell you mine
@@Tychoe1I’ll buy it
Loved it bro
Hi from germany, i allways think ab out to buy this camera, cause i am not a typical Leica-shooter, but after your video i am sure that i buy a M8........ thany you Andreas
I bought a M8 over 13 years ago & 35 summarit 6 bit coded.. Also bought an M9 & 90mm summarit a few years later. Bought the M7 & 35 Nokton1.4mc Then the M-E & 50mm Cron. In 2021 I’ve sold all my gear that I never used in a while .. I only kept the M8+ 50mm cron .. I only shoot j peg B&W an it’s excellent for me .. The shutter will break one day it’s okay I’m ready to put another in for £1275 ..
Your comment made me tear up because I feel the same about my M8, I know the shutter will die, but I’ll definitely replace it because I love this camera so much.
@@tonym9635 it’s old it’s slow, but it’s ok 👌 for me
I'm scouring this universe of RUclips trying to watch as much Leica M8 video I could find. Great to find you video here. Pictures and video are neatly done.
Amazing camera, on the search for one now. This and the M10 are beautiful cameras.
❤️❤️❤️ great video
Had mine since it first came out, used it semi professionally, never needed another camera, still going strong.
Yup, mine too.
I heard the jpegs straight out of the camera are incredible, especially colors. I would love to see it. I can't find them anywhere though, because everyone shows us raw/processed files. Could you please show us in another video? 😀
❤️
I bought two 5D classics years ago because they're cheap bangers these days when you don't want your expensive kit around when out and about. While my 5D Mark IV is obviously technically far superior (and is still the obvious choice when on the job) - the 5D classics are a simple joy to use daily and, dare I say it, more fun! Plus the limitations in cropping and file pushing really make you a better photographer, because you have to nail it in the camera, rather than "fix it in post" for the most part. But even then, coupled with modern RAW editing advancements and AI upscaling/sharpening - the 5D can deliver insane results for its age and price. Highly recommended!
What do you think is a fair USD price for this camera? I see some for sale on eBay and trying to decide between this or an m8…there doesn’t seem to be a big difference in the price but I’m not sure which one is better
Entirely dependent on how you like to shoot. If you like looking at a screen then obviously get an X typ 113 (the M8 doesn’t have live view so you have to look through the rangefinder). With that said I think the M8 is a lot faster to focus and adjust, and it’s almost balletic when you get used to using it. Plus 10.3MP is plenty! M8 all day long for me.
buy a new battery
Awesome Keep it up! Looking for getting an M8! What is your suggestion?
What I like is that you make very nice picture with the tool you love ! Isn’t it crazy the the people still work with these cameras. I love it. My first like was a m6. And in our school we had a reprovit. This made the nicest reproductions I ever have seen. The teacher said: just follow the advice on the column of the Monopod the camera was attached to. I thought that he is making fun out of me. But my first roll of repros made me so addictive that I spend my studies reproducing strange collages. ☺️ They really know how to make photographer shine ✨
Nice, I have one coming next week. Can't wait to see how it keeps up with my Nikon D700, The Legend. I expect them to be quite similar. The D700 also seems to have better colours than later models.
So how did the 5dc compare to the D700?
@@alwynsmit3546 I think they are both great. The benefit for me, regarding the 5d, is that I have the 24-120mm f4 lens for Canon. It is one of my favourite lenses. I have more Nikon lenses than Canon, but not the 24-120 f4. That is the disadvantage of spreading over many brands.
This is a beautiful and wrongfully maligned camera. I have had mine for several years purchased used. Great image quality and I purchased the electronic viewfinder that completes the system. This camera competes with my more recently acquired Q-P.
That’s good to know! I just picked an X up a couple months ago
Nice.
Great review, you definitely got some great images out of this camera 👍
you're views which resonate with my...and why i have one, made me want to keep it and enjoy it / thank you
Is it compatible with today's transmisors and manual flashes?
Yep!
Lol that shutter during the continuous shooting mode sounds like a squeak toy
Ok but what about the repair? I just bought a used 5D and I'm hoping it will last as long as possible ... but I'm already changing my mind about the purchase because when it breaks I won't be able to repair it because repair centers certainly don't have spare parts.
It’s a personal choice but I’d be happy to just buy another cheap second-hand one if mine failed, the body only cost me £180 so it’s not the end of the world lol
Honestly it won't be long before that'll be the case no matter what camera you chose to go with (unless you buy it new). I think you still can get then adjusted and whatnot. Getting one today, you'll probably get away cheaper with getting a new one if you have to repair it. What I'm worried about though is the supply of batteries, but for now (and with it's resurgence in popularity) there seems to be steady suppliers that make their own. I'm looking to the 5dsr for my next camera when my current 5d gives out. It seems the colours are quite similar, given the, in effect, none existant low pass filter. But I'll probably croke before my cameras do.
I'd buy at least one more and keep it in storage just in case anything happens to the one you're using. Two or three more would be even better!
my first ever camera was the 1100d and the 5d colour is very reminiscent of that camera.
Hopefully it brought back some good memories!
Thank you for the video. but did you shoot full auto? Would be nice to have some extra info on those shots to have an idea.
I used aperture priority with the spot meter predominantly. It’s similar to using manual but I prefer using Aperture priority with a spot meter as it helps me meter a scene quicker ! All shots are edited raw files too, no JPEGS
@@negativemob5545 thank you sir
@@negativemob5545 only jpegs straight out the camera have that film look with shadows leaning towards green colour
Love of the shots in rye looking for a 5d to scan film what do you think
Thank you. The 5D would be perfect for scanning film, cheap and effective with just about the right megapixel count (small file sizes with enough crop flexibility) with a good minimum focus distance - just make sure you get a macro / zoom lens
@@negativemob5545 nice one ill have to search the market for one now
Do you need an IR filter for black and white? Sorry if stupid question
not needed for b&w , but you can kept on . certainly need it for color even though you can correct in pp .
Love mine!
Where on earth did you find one for 400
eBay of all places !
@@negativemob5545 no wayy lucky!! Can I buy yours? U selling it? 1😊
