    Boiz. I'm unbiased... Basically, fundamentally! I don't mind a discussion. You can try to convince me I'm wrong. I can change my mind if I'm really wrong, but you need to provide some arguments against my takes in the video. The argument that I just didn't like it is not valid. I like this genre. When I don't, I don't even buy games in that genre and especially don't make reviews. I liked this game at first. But I didn't run to make a happy review. I wanted to finish the game, and it objectively got boring. And I didn't even play alone. Dudes I played with thought the same. The games are there to entertain you. You should enjoy them, but not struggle. If you enjoy mindless grind, cheap stories, then fine, it's your life...

    I stopped the vid about 1/2 way. You started out pretty good then went on some hell binge and crying about every mechanic while at the same time saying how great it was. I'm not sure if you are Unbiased or Schizophrenic. By the way the game is EA and only 1/3 complete. Also the the dungeon door is a bug they know about. I think maybe you need to follow the actual game and know what bugs it has and what is being fixed. Also a lot of the server issues have been fixed... Maybe since you say you are a programmer, make your own game.

      I stopped reading your comment about 1/2 way. Ok, just kidding. If you watched the whole thing, you wouldn’t be so delusional. I said that I liked the mechanics at first but after 20 hours the game turned into a joke. What takes on mechanics do you disagree with exactly? That clicking a rock with a pickaxe or planting some weed for hours is boring? I said that the game had some cool stuff, but it wasn’t enough to justify its price. Why the hell would I make my own game? I paid for it, but didn't get it for free. And I paid for it three times what Valheim cost me. “Oh, you don’t like that we sold you some spoiled food, go grow your own”. Nice logic. Who’s schizophrenic…

      @@BasicallyUnbiasedWatching the video half way was enough to know the rest was going to be a hate fest. I do not need to listen to someone bitch about the game for 15 minutes and how it was not what they expected especially when the game is only 1/3 finished. I think it is funny when people want a triple A game out of an EA game they only paid 20 bucks for. Most good EA games make changes based on community feedback. Valheim did it, this game is doing it, so are many others. Most of the grinding you are talking about is very simple, In fact it is to simple lol.. it should be harder. You say you put 20 hours into the game, seems like you got your money's worth to me.

    • @BasicallyUnbiased
      @BasicallyUnbiased 6 месяцев назад

      @@michaelmorrow9927 That 1/3 finished part is conceptually boring. Stop making excuses for early access games. You buy this game NOW. This review is about how this game feels NOW, not how it’s going to be in the bright future. This game is promoted as an adventure. Do you call mindless grind an adventure? Grind is simple, you say. Exactly, you just hold your mouse wheel for 10 minutes until your pickaxe breaks. Then you go to your base, repair it and repeat. What an experience… I don't expect a triple A from an indie studio. I expect devs to launch games with content, not its imitation. I want devs to not reinvent the wheel and adhere to the best practices from other games. Well, I don’t want to retell the whole video you didn’t watch. I put 67 hours into this game, 20 of which I enjoyed. That’s not money’s worth, that’s a scam. I’m tired of people making a decent prologue then ditching the game.

      @@BasicallyUnbiasedI have no issue with the game as of now lol, nor valheim. Have 12,000 hrs into valheim and over 300 into this one and hmm 5-6 into NightnGale. Your the one who has the issues with the game. You made a video about the game i disagreed and seems like you do not like that... You feel the way you do and 1,000's of others do not... That's just how it is.. Have a great evening. PS: have you actually read any of the literature in the game ? done the side quests and so forth. I barely have to use a pickaxe to get anything except the special loot. Arrows no issue when you are killing... Maybe they need to borrow some trolls from Valheim to help us grind, better yet some of those magical creatures from PalWorld. BTW, before you think i am totally bashing you the editing of the vid was good, vocals clear cuts good. Need some improvement on the swearing "because people are not really into that much anymore, doesn't matter to me as long as there is worthwhile content"..

      @@michaelmorrow9927 From the patch note: • Reduced the amount of twigs needed to craft arrows. • Increased the yield of twigs from grown bushes. • Increased the yield of feathers from their sources. Even the devs admitted that it was unbalanced, but fanboys keep defending their self made idols. Your ratio of 1 to 1000 is a lie. Look at Steam reviews. Look at the daily online. It’s like the 70th place and keeps losing players. You say you have 12,000 hours in Valheim. What did you even do there for so long? Do you realise that the majority of people won’t waste so much time on a single game. If you can afford spending so much time on a video game, I am genuinely glad for you. But most people come from work and want to spend an evening without it looking like they are on another job. There are many other games people can choose from. And now, games have to compete for gamers' attention. If someone’s free time is limited, they’ll probably choose something else. And I am not talking about making games casual or something. No, I like when you have to think in video games. You should also get something out of your time. Tell me, what experience exactly do I get from planting 1,000 plants? Sounds like Bruce Lee’s quote about 10,000 kicks. I could have gotten something out of it by architecting a farm, placing everything where I want it to grow, and just offloading all the boring routine to a farmer NPC. But I can’t do that, because there’s no such mechanic. People have to create stuff, not to crunch numbers. It’s what computers do. Yes I did quests and read notes. I always do. They were shallow and pretentious. Of course, not all of them, but enough to get me bored. Regarding the swearing. It’s not like I am trying to insult anyone, It’s just how I talk when on emotions. I don’t want to put on a suit and pretend to be an angel. I made a review on The Witcher, used the same language, and was ranting about it for half of the video but ended up recommending the game because there were more reasons to finish it than not to. I didn’t have a goal to make a hate video on this game. I highlighted its strong sides (most notably architecture). It’s not a terrible game, but not a great one either. It just turned out that for a guy who has to do a lot of other stuff in his life this game is mediocre. Being in early access doesn’t change how this particular game felt when I played it. Maybe it will change in the future, but I doubt they’ll revamp the entire map to reanimate the game world (talking about empty areas in between those detailed camps and cities). But even if they do, there’ll be up-to-date reviews then. PS: You know why gaming journalism is dead? It's because people are too afraid to criticise games to get a negative reaction from their audience.

    The first mistake you made.....THIS GAME IS NOT VALHIEM! Get over it it supposed to be a review not a tear down! Apparently you need to go back to Valhiem because this review was boring and Forgettable! Reviews usually does not have cussing, so you don't like it! Need to take this down because this is why you have 5 subscriber's!

      No jokes, I agree that this review is boring and forgettable. Just like this game. What did you expect? Me cherry picking good stuff and being silent about negative sides? I call things by their names. If the game is shit, then I’ll say it. I mentioned what was good about this game. I didn’t praise Valheim either. It had tons of issues too. But the funny thing is that Valheim was released a long time ago just like many other similar games. And you know what a good studio does? They do research. They play other games and learn from their mistakes. I won't take this video down because you failed to convince me. If you want to waste your money on that, it’s your choice.

    I love Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity. Thank you for the reminder on the game's story. What has always sold me on the Divinity series is the humor. I have played BioWare and Obsidian's RPG games, but only with the Divinity series I get to laugh so much. From the first moments to the very end, this game always gives you a chuckle. As far as the gameplay goes, it is not much different than the rest of the ARPG from this time - Diablo, Sacred, Titan Quest. If you manage to get used to it, the game is quite fun to play. At times, it can be infuriating, but that was just because most ARPGs had similar elements of frustration. TL;DR; Divinity is a unique world and if people are willing to try to accept the game for what it is, it can become a truly amazing experience.

    You could play CoD1 fine with native res. All it takes is a 20 second edit in the config file.

    • @BasicallyUnbiased
      @BasicallyUnbiased 2 года назад

      The resolution is not a problem. The main problem is Windows scaling. I have 27 inches 1440p monitor and I use 125% scaling in Windows otherwise UI elements are too small. And the problem is that CoD1 scales too even when in fullscreen. I got cropped game and had to switch between 100% and 125% scaling when playing/not playing. CoD2 works fine and ignores Windows scaling.

    It was the best game of it's kind in 2003. I think you are bit harsh. Many of the negative points you make are things that simply makes it a near 20 year old game. It made iron sights popular and was the first game to have a kill cam feature. The reason it feels boring is because they have since remade this game many times over making things better each time. So it kinda feels like playing a blueprint of the later games. What's your opinion on Medal of Honor Allied Assault and Return to Castle Wolfenstein ?

    • @BasicallyUnbiased
      @BasicallyUnbiased 2 года назад

      Hello. Yep, that was the point of this video. It's an opinion that doesn't take into account the age of the game and it is not expressed through the nostalgia prism. That's about how the game feels today, when trying to apply modern standards, basically... unbiased🙂. And I agree that it was one of the best the industry could offer back at the time. I guess that's the game I played most number of times in my childhood. A blueprint... Yeah, a good point. That's how it feels. I actually made a video about Call of Duty 2 where I mentioned that they fixed most frustrating moments and it was actually quite fun to play even today(I even had some ROFL moments with grenade spam, check it out🤣). Medal of Honor - I heard about it. My friend recommended me to try but I didn't have the time and forgot about it. I hope I can fix this one day. Wolfenstein - I have good memories about it. But I played it so long ago and I didn't finish it. I don't remember why... probably was distracted by something else. Sometimes it happens to me. When I was a kid, I also played an addon - Operation Trondheim. I remember enjoying it too but to say anything about Wolfenstein I have to play it now. Otherwise it would be nostalgia speaking, not me. We humans tend to forget negative and remember positive sides. It happens not only with the games. Sometimes I watch a movie, read a book or listen to a music I used to like. Sometimes it holds up, sometimes it doesn't. Thank you, have a wonderful day!🤝

    Hello, just a few notes. The 50 pop limitation is mostly for the campaigns, normal games can have up to 250 pop. Also to group the units can be done with ALT + Right click

    • @BasicallyUnbiased
      @BasicallyUnbiased 2 года назад

      Hey! Yep, I know it's a campaign limitation. It's fine to have a limit, but it seems unbalanced in this case. I'm currently playing AoE 2 which also has fluctuating limit in campaigns (mostly it's 100/125 units) and I haven't had a single thought that I am short of units. Oh, and about alt + right click... Thank you, I wish they made this the default behaviour or at least mentioned about this combination in the tutorial. If I only knew this when I was playing😭
