Should God Ask for OUR Forgiveness? (A Rant on Deism, Nihilism, and the Pursuit of Happiness)
In this thought-provoking and fiery rant, we dive headfirst into one of the most challenging questions of all: should God ask for our forgiveness? Exploring the interplay between deism, nihilism, and our constant search for meaning, this episode takes a critical look at humanity’s relationship with the divine (or lack thereof). If God created the universe and left it to run on its own, does He still owe us anything? What does it mean to live in a world where life’s purpose feels elusive or downright meaningless?

How deism saved me from atheism. God without religion.
Why would i entertain any notion of a god belief without actual evidence of that god, what’s even the point of putting faith in a non intervening invisible mental fabrication
People want an afterlife because they don't want the party to end
We live in a strange world
Did God creat man or was man already her and aliens play with our genetics
How do you get something out of nuthing
If GOD WAS REAL HOW CAN A LOVING GOD LET IT GO ON
Well heaving is in you
Deism definitely fits me. I was raised in an abusive Christian fundamentalist household, started questioning my faith when I was 14/15 back in 2016, became an edgy atheist shortly after, then became non-edgy atheist, then became an agnostic, and now I'm currently a deist. It has been somewhat of a relief as well.
What relief do you get from pretending there’s a magical being out there?
❤❤❤

What you think God is? Who God is? And why did he created hell??
there is no good reason to accept the proposition that a deity exists...
Regarding your thoughts on the ‘afterlife’, it’s not just a ‘heart thing’, but it’s a common sense thing. Why would God create the universe, and put humanity through a ‘school’ of learning lessons just to snuff us out at death?
I have been a Deist for a long time in it's simplest form without even knowing it. I wasn't brought up to be religous so I was therefore never lead down any path to believe in religion, I was left with my own thoughts not that I was looking for answers to questions regarding religion, religion was just a small part of life that gave you a nudge when it came to times of celebration like christmas time and easter and other events enjoyed by christians, I learned just by observation what they believe in, the word God was the most prevalent word used along with goodness and kindness so on the surface of things christians seemed like nice people but the allure was not for me I had a life of fun and adventure ahead of me to be had ( aged 10/11 at the time ) as life's time passed and still non religious I would say to myself as long as I know within myself I am a good person morally then God would accept me when my time comes, and why should I use a physical place of worship when I carry it within myself in a strange way.
Just found your channel. Keep keeping on......this is needed. Peace to you.
Well, I wasn't expecting this to be the follow-up to your other Deism videos. I say this in all kindness and earnestness. You have obviously been through some very difficult things that have affected you in a profound way. However, the sense I get is that you've got stuck and that your thoughts are running circles around one set of ideas. This, to me seems to be part of the problem - you are intellectualizing things that have no intellectual answers. They can only be answered through faith, which you seem to be lacking or not having enough of at least. These things can't be thought through to the end and then given a satisfying solution. These are spiritual questions with spiritual answers. And I think the way to those answers go through faith. I'm not saying you're doing this, but many Deists seem to intellectualize their beliefs to the point of emptying it from the one thing which a belief in God or a Higher Power must ultimately have as its foundation - Faith. Faith is fundamental for actually believing in God, which the early English and American Deists of the 17th and 18th centuries knew. But in our days, Deism often seems to be nothing more than a kind of spiritual atheism. Now, again, I'm not accusing you of this. I'm simply suggesting leaving more space for faith than pure intellectualizing. You can only get so far with Reason. Eventually, you will need Faith to continue and find those deeper answers that Reason and (over-)thinking cannot provide. Anyway, I may not know what I'm talking about here. Just wanted to give you an honest reply and try to maybe be helpful if I can, as I deeply appreciate your excellent videos on Deism. You really strike me as a kind and thoughtful soul. Have you read the Book of Job? Maybe this would resonate with you? Also, I would suggest checking out Australian musician and singer Nick Cave, who lost two sons under tragic circumstances and who found a deep yet open faith in the process. There are several podcasts with him talking about this, and he's also written a book called "Faith, Hope and Carnage" that speaks about this. His wonderfully written posts on his website, the Red Hand Files, where he replies to questions from his fans, is really worth checking out. So here's from one Deist to another. I wish you all the very best.
Dude I'm going to share some amazing stuff with you that I learned about life and everything. Its just the end of the day now and I'm tired.
We weren't meant to get stuck in our heads man.... We were meant to have an inner fire to just keep moving.... Believing the best, creating the best. No matter what. Find that inner fire again. It's something society conditions us men away from. It's an environmental issue.
If your a pandeist there is no one to meet one day. Pandeism makes the most sense in terms of deism it almost fits in with arianism in a sense. There is also gnosticism as well.

I'm also preoccupied with such things. I decided that if this is a simulation and there is any justice in the greater universe, then we would have volunteered for this somehow and there must be some purpose even if the purpose is purposelessness. I'm not sure what that adds to the conversation, but I love this discourse.
💯
i can prove god with mathematics. i made a presentation and to date zero people have viewed it, even when i tried to give it away.
Thank you for your honesty, refreshing to hear „I don’t know“ shows humility.
Still hoping for another talk about Deism.
I've been considering it. Thank you for your comment, I will publish something next week or the following. Jesse
Good videos! Subscribed so I'll catch your next one. Any thoughts on pantheism? I tend to lean towards Deism or pantheism depending on my mood on any given day.
I can relate to your story. I had less church than you did as a kid, but the whole once you don't live at home with your parents and start living your own life, it just fades. But it comes back, and even in my 60s I am still giving church a try after many years. Now, I want to be at peace with the whole God thing, so deism may be my way forward. I think the whole "believe" thing is what I want to let go of. Many religions do not require belief, but allow a spiritual side to exist.
For me, Deism is about keeping my mind open to the possibility of a creator or creative force existing. Until a better scientific explanation is found, Deism remains a reasonable, rational hypothesis for the origin of the universe.
So you are an agnostic theist, in that you don't know that a god or gods exist but you believe that one does because of the "comfort" that belief brings. I personally identify as an agnostic atheist in that I don't claim to know that no god or gods exist but I don't believe that they do, because no theist has ever come remotely close to providing sufficient evidence to justify their particular god beliefs, including you.
A god that doesn't interact with reality in any discernable way is indistinguishable from a god that doesn't exist. Such a god is unfalsifiable and it is irrational to believe in the truth of any proposition that cannot be falsified.
I don’t know, three words that should prefix,,’I don’t know’ questions that beg an answer:
I was a Muslim, now I feel comfortable in diesm because it fills the innate gaps that always haunt a person about a creator even if he is not present, I was in one of the worst and most toxic religions ever.. In fact, I see religions in general as nothing but a human creation that depends mainly on intimidation and superstition and is completely illogical.. Now I am trying to get rid of the effects of the toxicity of Islam on me, but it is an exhausting thing
Same I still live with a Muslim family and in an Islamic country
I really really like your thoughts 🥰🥰🥰
I don't think if there is a god, or higher power in the universe, that they take part or intervene in human affairs. It would go against the natural order of things. Also, consider Panendeism. God could potentially be a part of all things in the universe, that the universe as a whole is within god. But god is also beyond that.
I'd say you're a Deist. I'm an agnostic, but when I first left my religious beliefs behind, I was a Deist. I still find it pretty plausible that there could be a higher power in the universe, without specifically being the biblical god. Also, Pandeism and PanENdeism are fascinating concepts.
Those who believe, their hearts being at rest in God's remembrance -- surely in God's remembrance are hearts at rest Verse (13:28). Listen to the Quran online in Arabic eg RUclips. It's far superior to the English translation
Good start guys. Now try reading the Quran rather than worshiping or over respecting your ego. Would you want to reflect the Book has written. The Bible yes has many problems. But don't assume that therefore applies to the Quran as well. Give it a read.
At the end of the day religious people also don’t know
Best ans to reject deism that God sent prophet to guide us to path of god
Boss show! New subscriber here 👍
Deism is irrational. It asserts that everything was created but that the creator then just stepped away. So why create in the first place? Deism is effectively the same as atheism, as believing God is not present is the same, in practical terms, as believing there is no God. If you reject all the man made trappings of religion, as I think you should, why cling to the belief in God, having stripped away the foundational falsehoods that promote it? Take that last step to atheism and you will find even more peace.
Hmmm... "Why create in the first place?" Wait, wouldn't that be questioning his omniscience? Good question. And And about the religion, because religion is a "man-made" organization.
@@The.SimounIbarra Thank you for the response. Another common and interesting claim is that God is perfect. This too raises the question, why create? If God was perfect in and of itself, it would have no desires and no curiosity, as these things stem from a perceived lack of something. A perfect being would be fully self contained and self sustaining and thus would not create anything outside of itself. Just a little mind game. 😁
@@theoutspokenhumanist i think he created everything, if based on what was written in the bible, because he saw what was lacking, and to complete his "satisfaction". Im not saying my answer is the correct one, but just by reading the first chapter of the book of Genesis.
@@theoutspokenhumanist but i do get your question. If he was perfect, then why wasn't he satisfied? That, i cannot answer 😅
@@The.SimounIbarra It's not really about being satisfied. That feeling would require being aware that things could be different but choosing not to change. As I said, a perfect God would be self contained. Complete and with no thought of satisfaction or dissatisfaction and with no desires or even interests or curiosity. As for Genesis, we now know and can prove that the creation story is just mythology. In fact the whole of the Pentateuch/Torah is mythology. From the creation to the conquest of the promised land, science, biblical scholarship and archaeology has shown that none of it ever happened.
I find no need to forgive God. Many Atheists believe that God is evil because he allows children to suffer. If you believe that God does Not intervene then you can’t blame God for suffering. Much of that suffering comes from our own choices, or free will. Why does he let innocent children suffer? Evolution and growth many times comes with suffering. You touch a hot stove and burn yourself as a kid, you learn not to do this. Why does I child get cancer? Because a lot of times because we knowingly or unknowingly subject him to carcinogens. God doesn’t intervene remember?
Buying 3 of everything seems like she was going to hang with some people (2) and either she met foul play for money trafficking or even satanic but its so sad. The case of tuna was interesting too and workout clothing. Maybe she did hike in the area. Prayers for her. No dna from car? Just noticed its 3 yra ago. Oh my😢
There's also a tremendous amount of intellectual honesty in saying, "I don't know" and meaning it.
Whenever I need more clarity and feel the need to rid myself of confusion, I come here in the hope of finding a new vlog and to find solace in what's already here. Your humility, honesty in saying "I don't know" and your search for God/a Higher Power gives me comfort and solace.
WOW, My life story re: church and religion. At the age of 88 yrs, It is so nice to know I DON'T KNOW!! I have the same understanding but really knew what it was called. Enjoyed your vid.
I just recently explored deism.. and it makes sense to me. I was an undertaker for 10 years. One of my last cases was picking up a 10 year old boy who got hit by a car chasing a ball into the street. I remember putting his lifeless blood-soaked body into a body bag and thinking, “how can a loving powerful God let this happen?” Like you said, there’s just too much shit in this world to justify an Omni-present God that is with us…
My wife and I are host parents for international student, both senior high and post-secondary. Most come from countries where there’s no religion. They seem fine and well adjusted.
Well of course they are. When you dont care about spiritual development and questioning the most damning questions in life, why should they worry ? Materialist and robotic states dont care about humanity. Once again the west leads the way for human development. Truly, the world is a burden on us.
@@SimpleMinded221 that reply was overly simple minded🤣😝
@fogsmart it takes a simple mind to understand the truth.
All religion is subjective. Even deism is highly subjective. But hey, it’s okay to think there’s a transcendent entity that created all we see. There’s just no proof other than appeals to teleological arguments. And scripture…which unfortunately doesn’t hold up well to higher criticism, historical objectivity - nor can some folks be inclined to worship a being that asked the founder of this incipient religion to slit the throat of his son. So there’s that. My conclusion? There no certainty. We live. We die. Enjoy it. As best you can. Try to live up to some type of altruism. Who was Jesus? Mohamed? Et al? We. Don’t. Really. Know. Sorry. What you do believe might well be all in your brain. That’s it. And the manipulative narrative of other humans, powers, governments, and individuals. And remember, your views and perspectives on faith can evolve over the years. Me? My self-advocacy and agency are the most treasured gift I have, other than life itself, never to be robbed again by those who live in their curated bubble of confirmation bias, brainwashing, abdication of critical thinking, idiot talk parroting scripture, lack of recognition of the cognitive dissonance at function with faith, and finally the total hubris of thinking your particular house of cards is the correct theology. Have an awesome day. Embrace the moments, the memories and stay hopeful for tomorrow. Look up at the stars. The waves on the ocean. The complexity of nature. Regardless, we are creatures subjected to the awe and wonder and incredible mysteries of existence and out own ability to contemplate it all. If your life involves abuse, pain, or some type of suffering, I am sorry for you. It can be challenging. Stay strong. Be brave. Don’t ever be goaded into not being yourself.
Just passing by: I am a passionate reader of Spinoza. (Your day be blessed.)
HA! "Your not a Deist, just an angry Christian..." LMAO! Funny how strangers can solve our problems in seconds:) I'm with you on boredom man, that is a real fight and one I too battle daily. Of course, I don't know but through limited observation watching and listening to you, like me, maybe you too hate the part of "Deism" that removes a "personal savior" at least for me that's a tough pill to swallow. However, intellectually, it makes the most sense in my mind. I'll put it this way, it simplifies the world way easier for me to believe in Deism intellectually, but emotionally it's lacking. That's the part I'm trying to get past:) Peace man, keep'em coming whenever you can...
