Very amateur video maker.
give this man an emmy
I've been watching The Penguin on Sky Atlantic/HBO Max and I had some things I wanna say about it. I put this one together super quick so the editing isn't as great as usual, sorry about that.

the single sound that changed TV forever

As you’ve probably noticed, I’m a big fan of HBO shows (for the most part). I thought it’d be cool to explore how the static intro ident has impacted not just the TV industry, but pop culture as a whole. From its nostalgic crackle to the rise of digital, we’ll unpack the history, challenges, and brilliance that cemented this intro as a core part of HBO’s identity. Learn how just a few seconds o...
When Violence Is the Answer: Unpacking Mr Inbetween
Просмотров 241 тыс.Год назад
#mrinbetween #videoessay #rayshoesmith The saying goes: 'violence is never the answer'. But Mr. Inbetween forces the viewer to question this idea. I know I'm about 2 years late to the party for this TV show but I've only just recently discovered it. I was blown away by the perfomances and how much they could fit into just 30 minute episodes. Definitely check Mr. Inbetween out if you haven't alr...

It's a shame you talked about all these perfection and didn't mention Hans Zimmer. The man is the one who put soul in this film with those mesmerizing scores.
That feeling is so rare but when it happens you don’t really forget it
Great video mate
The thing about violence that makes it so dangerous is how effective it is... Same reason why drugs in general are bad. They work so well.
perfection
how can you forget his brother Bruce
The only real time Iv ever had serious goosebumps in amazement was watching the wave scene and pushing out of orbit of the black hole watching Interestellar in IMAX
I loved this scene and you just taught me why. Great essay, I really enjoyed learning from you. Your content is great 👍
The pen is mightier than the sword, but you need the sword to back the pen up......🤷♂️
Loved this show !
That scene had me in awe too. I found it really cool.
Dune is Perfect
recently watched sicario. the shot before the mission with the blue and orange skyline was definitely brain stemming
I got that insane feeling when they took off floating too... AMAZING. Whole movie leaves me in awe every time!
The most popular and reposted scenes from this show are the same male power-fantasy violence that we've seen across all kinds of media for decades. Nobody shares the consequences scenes.
The music from nick cave off of the firstborn is dead captures a southern american gritty blues ethos and fits perfectly
"When every frame in a film is perfect"... "yet the movie is mediocre"
That's amazing that Joe Walker did that narration for you!! His speech in Dune Part 1 is one of the sound bites that stood out to me the most from the very first time I watched it, and it continues to resonate in such a unique way. When I heard the opening, I was shocked that you had somehow managed to edit or get an impression of that voice -- so so cool that it was the man himself!! Incredible video as well <3
if there were more mr inbetweens in the world, it would be a better place. no one can convince me otherwise
This essay was way too short :'/ please make a longer one of dune 2!!
He's the punisher that smiles
1:35 good lord
THX
Naw, sandworm riding bro!!
Saw it on Imax twice .... yes!
The real eclipse must have been the greatest cherry-on-top
Ray was a bad man, but had a better morale compass than those who would consider him "bad". That's the juxtaposition the show is based on (probably).
amazing video but whats the name of the background track i love it almost like the interstellar theme melody
I love it how @ponderyoutube is ending his videos saying "Bye" just the same way I used to say good byes to my new friends when I was young. Also I love how short and in to the point his videos are. You save my time AND tell me some thing to think about. Now that I can appreciate.
I’ve honestly never been so mesmerized by a movie before. The combination of the music, the sound design and the cinematography made me really wish i could erase my memory and see this movie for the first time again. Even the “slow” parts had ambient music that you could legitimately feel
GREAT video.
well done on this video bro! your video itself gave me this same feeling! goosebumps!
Am I the only one thinks this is about Middle East, Israel and US? Spice is oil. It all makes sense.
Blade Runner 2049 is 1000x better in every way possible.
Really great work sir ! Nice quality editing too! Keep it up :)
Great video ✊ Great film ✊
I loved both of the movies, and i really enjoy the analysis of different scenes. It gives them more power in retrospect and reinforces Villeneuves choices. Great video and i love the fact that you got Joe Walker to do the intro narration. Made me feel like i was watching the movies again.
I saw it in IMAX opening scene was my favorite part like when they hoover down out the drop ship & climb the mountain like they are on the moon
The way this sequence is shot looks like something out of a movie made in the 70s or 80s
Theres alot evil outhere ash williams, walter white and good old ray.
Good old ray chaos and order❤
sadly no real imax in my country so i watched it in a dolby cinema which is the next best thing. you get dolby vision image and brutal dolby surround which both really made the movie a lot more amazing. i already rewatched part 1 on my LG C3 and it also really shines on OLED.
Rates right up there with True Detective Season 1.
Good essay. I love your exposition about the character and the story.
"Every frame a painting" made a method.
Violence is never the answer. In a democratic society, once you attempt to serve subjective justice on your own, someone else's version of justice might backfire on you. Trusting in the rule of law, even when it's imperfect, is what ensures fairness and stability for everyone.
when every shot is perfect - none of them are perfect. honestly for me the movie looked too....dull because of this perfections in every shot, i missed some of inperfect less polished, more real shots.
@ponderyoutube the film, both infact, are pure eye and ear candy. Thanks for your video essay which is pure brain candy 🧠 🍭. Great job!!
