Stood outside the Cardiff Wales Alfa dealer’s showroom in 1973 as 20 year old trainee Engineer dreaming of owning one. Fast forward 50 years to March 2023 and I just bought one. A rare Right Hand Drive car with 39k mikes on the clock. Now a very happy 70 year old enthusiast who finally achieved his goal. Enjoyed many exotics along the way but must admit to a certain contentment at owning a Montreal.

Alfasud Sprint is fantastic like a little supercar

The most modern Alfa Romeo project was a VW Porsche and in absburgic engineering tradition from history of Steyr / Tatra / Porsche and VW.

The last of Alfasud family the Alfa Romeo 33 third series Imola was fantastic, out of the times, and not modern in all the aspects, but fun like a supercar.

The DOHC engine is severely throttled . In the AR 51 it is in fact the least powerful version of the 1900 DOHC. The CSS version delivers 130 HP.

I bought a Sprint new - beautiful car, thrilling handling, gorgeous engine and fantastic style. At 7 months old, a rust bubble appeared near where one of the windscreen wipers entered the body. I took it to the dealer and was told that the warranty against rust was 6 months.

Great video. Alfa Romeo lost to BMW and Mercedes in the last 50 years. With the current dynamics (all gens of BMW and Mercedes looking same) and the new "Alfasud" Alfa Junior-Milano, the next decade and beyond should belong to Alfa Romeo, if quality and reliability can be enhanced.

I had the GTV 6 1985, i had the timing serpentine belt slip due to oil drip on belt . It was a living nightmare !! I still have my 1976 Spider Veloce with chain timing belt and now 189,000 miles a daily driver in Florida when weather permits. Getting 2024 Gulia eventhough Alfa is going electric 2025 , we will survive.

Interesting video but when the TT12 won the manufacturers championship in 1975, Porsche and Ferrari works teams had pulled out of fielding works cars in the top Group 5 category (Porsche in 1971 and Ferrari in 1973) and Alfa Romeo's competitors were not noteworthy. Arguably Alfa Romeo's greatest triumph was with the tipo 33/3 v8 which allowed Alfa Romeo to be classed second overall in the 1971 world sportscar championship for manufacturers, above Ferrari but below Porsche, against works 5litre Porsche 917s and Ferrari's new 312PB (although some privateers still ran the older 5 litre 512M). Indeed in 1971 against those works Porsche/Ferraris the Alfa Romeo tipo 33/3 won outright on tighter circuits like Brands Hatch and Watkins Glen and the Targa Florio.

Born in the 70's the Alfetta GT badly crossed the 80's: too much plastics burded its grace. Btw: Bravo Giugiaro!

I put in a lot of miles on a 2 litre and a V6. While the latter was a bit quicker, the beautiful balance and handling of the earlier car was lost.

Like a few here, I had two. Took a 1.6 GTS version to University and a few years later bought a 2.5 V6. Loved them both. Had other alfas too, like the Sprint and Sud. If I were richer when I was younger I’d have had others.

I've never understood people who complained about corrosion in their cars but never did anything to stop it. Usually even if a car is prone to corrosion, all that needs to be done is to spray the underbody and internal structure profiles with a mixture of wax and oil that is now widely available with additional anti corrosion additives. Before such easy to use sprays appeared on the market, the way to solve the problem once and for all was to pump in hot grease. That pretty much eliminated corrosion issue in any car.

While explaining the suspension set up at 2:26, there's a shot of a front wheel drive Alfasud Sprint Veloce. I love the Sprint - but all Alfa fans can tell the difference - It's almost as though the makers of the video are only pretending to like Alfa's.

I stopped watching about half way through. So much disinformation especially regarding the South African model.

My dream car. I had always the suspect Audi A7 got inspiration from it.

On a whim I tried driving this car last night in Assetto Corsa around the Nordschleife track. I've been sim racing for several years now, and I've never felt as connected with a car as I have with this one, or as thrilled by the experience (my adrenaline was pumping the whole time). Truly incredible race car, and I would do anything for a chance to drive the real one.

The so called music was so distracting, I stopped watching after a couple of minutes.. Stunning cars though and what I could hear was extremely informative.
