Yeah. That was definitely a mistake they made on the newer ones. The old sportsman's never had that issue.

@sambuvca22 the motor is going to get fully rebuilt. Some parts for these are very hard to find on them.

@@daveyoung3321 i did not do a leak down test. It's usually pretty easy to find air leaks by spraying some carb cleaner around all the seals.

@midwestmetal1 the rod bearing looked completely intact and felt completely smooth too. I'm still thinking the crank bearings though. I'll see once I pull it all the way apart.

@Sparaco487 you want a connection between all 3 wire but not a connection to the ground. If you touch just your meter leads together you should get like .1 ohms. That's what you want to see between all 3 wire combinations but not when you go from one wire to the ground.

@CKPowersports im getting ol reading on each leg to ground. 0 reading metter leads touched to each other then i get a 0 reading 2 out of 3 legs and one leg is a 1. But this is with no battery hooked up

@CKPowersports yeah I saw that in the video. Honda made the heads thick with a sevice limit gage built into them on the intake side. The head looked too far pitted to be reused without resurfacing it. It will tend to get hot spots and detonation as it was. Just a heads up

@4valvegarage654 that's also where this one came from. The guy didn't have it very long before it blew up. Follow along though as I tear this motor completely apart and get it back to new.

@@CKPowersports Damn, we should probably remind everyone that got one of these to check the jets if you live lower elevation. Definitely will follow along as I subscribed after your walk through video. I posted one video on my channel of it. Breaks up above 80% throttle, needle jet clip in top/lean position. Pulling main jet this weekend plus have a vforce reed coming. Fingers crossed no hidden surprises.

@4valvegarage654 my pilot is all stock and I have a 140 main jet in it and it runs awesome. I would definitely start there. Although I'm working on my 350 odyssey that I bought out there and it just wants to be way leaner than stock.

@@TheTahoeAdventures yes I did. I'm in the process of pulling the motor. I think these crank bearings are worn out. I think that is maybe where the debris came from.

@evanwilliams2602 it's not a new cylinder but a freshly bored one. I bought 3 pilots with a bunch of parts a few years ago and they came with a couple ready to go top ends. I'm saving one in case I need it for my pilot.

@@CKPowersports should totally do it, I have heard the 3 wheeler engines are more powerful than the other 250 trailblazers, i haven’t seen any videos on RUclips of one with a pipe that would be cool to see the gains

@GageMaska-mp7pb I was acutely going to make a video comparing the pilot to the 350 odyssey. Most people don't know the difference between the 2.

That be a pretty good one, but I think just like an overall review of the pilot will be really cool like the controls and lights on the handlebars if they all work something on them would be cool

@@CKPowersports Got mine Friday the 13th, it started right up, but won't idle, or run longer than 5-10 minutes. So i just got back to it today, pulled the airbox, carb wasnt attached to the airbox or head fully lol. Looks like carb was recently cleaned, so that's a plus. The line that should connect to bottom of carb was just hanging, looks like another line was replaced, super small fuel filter was used, no bueno. So im working my way thru the manual, and have new lines and filters. Choke cable is broken, otherwise everything looks to be there

@@CKPowersports the older 85-86 models were 5 speeds the 87-92. 6 speed, I’m in the middle of a resto of a 92 myself, would love to see more videos of you riding it,and do yourself a favor and hit 6 gear next time 🤣

It's quite possible. This thing spent its whole life on a feed lot and that is really hard on stuff
