I had an R100T. I just got re-licensed, and have a CRF300Rally on my list, so I can learn to go off road with confidence: basically I can learn how not to drop the bike by dropping the bike too much (see IRC Tire Guy) before I get a new, big bike. Didn't you have a hard time on the track, so this time may I suggest making the skill building fun, goofy, and REWARDING (More smiles than frustration). just an idea...

I did the same thing. Even at slow speed the weight of the bike causes what seems like not much forward force to become irresistible downward force with just a little brake.

If you want to ride a lot of different bikes, come to the Hiawatha Rally in Money Creek, MN, every May. BMW, of course. Leo's South brings a bunch of bikes for 30 mile test rides. For free. Grest ridinf in the Driftless Area, too!

After riding many cruisers, including Hardleys, i told a co worker thst I'd rather sit on my couch, and watch a RUclips about riding motorcycles, than actually ride a Hardley Abelson. Life's just too short!

As for RT vs GS, ive ridden both a lot. Tough decision. I'd go with the GS only because i think for me, the more nimble nature would put me in the saddle more often. But they're both fantastic. I think a GS can do 98% of what and RT can, and then add a whole lot more the RT can't do. If you look at the Iron Butt Rally bikes, there's more GS in the top 20 thsn RT. Which shows that for folks that want really, really put miles on, it's the GS that is top. I think in the long haul, the Gs weight makes it ever so slightly, only slight, less fatiguing.

Just found this channel. Lived in DE and my wife and I (my R75/5 and her R90/6) did that bridge a lot. She's 5'10 and more as well. If you're at the BMW National near Knoxville, look for me on my green R75/5.

Friggin Awesome!! I'm getting back into riding, and men need to "flip the equation"-- that A) you are doing what the boys can't imagine doing (taking full sized touring onto the track and pushing it!) and B) that women are doing it "alone"- that it's much harder to do things when you don't have people that "see what you see". So, yeah, you did something AMAZING! PS a great quote "The antidote for intelligence is testosterone" So if you ever wonder why you hold back more, it's because the guys minds simply don't work as well ;)😁

That's a ludicrous proposition. I traded my RT in for a new GS in '21, probably one of the best decisions I've made in a while. The 1250GS is shredded silk.

my 2016 bmw rt was the best m/c i have ever owned/ridden. helmet buffeting was something i had go overcome with my HD street glide where there was never helmet buffeting with the RT.

the pan america is ridiculous through and through. For the money - buy something else 100% You could get a Honda Transalp 750 and then completely deck it out and be WAY under the cost of a panamerica with a better bike...as one example. It's actually borderline criminal, in my opinion, what harley are doing with that bike.

Overheating is a problem on the Milwaukee 8 engine. I would look into a BMW R18B. I ride a Roctane and it is a very comfortable bike. The RT is the most comfortable and practical motorcycle. I wish it wasn’t so pricey.

Trading a BMW for a Harley is going backwards, Harley is woke and they now just want to sell CVO's to posers...

You should try the R18 B. I traded in my RT for it and can't believe how awesome it rides!
