I'm scared a little, because the year go past
More young adults are scared to not make it through their 20s than turning 30 nowadays
As an adult going on thirty-four, heading into your thirties only seems daunting when you count the hours, minutes and seconds till the strike of twelve. After that it just becomes a series of "what now?" moments. Simply put, being an adult is making who you grew up to be work for the betterment of yourself and those around you. It's taking lived experience and turning it into new life. It needn't carry the baggage of your forbears or your own past - only learn and grow from it. Though there will be times and people you will have to answer to. Humility, for lack of a better word. We don't need to keep making it so scary complicated. The world is enough of that already. Be truthful, simple and abundant.
You do realize that your early 30s and late 20s are in the same age group. It's generally considered to be on the same continuum, mentally, physically, etc. It's not like you go from 29 to 30 and everything suddenly changes. Anyone who thinks it does is a moron.
I turn 30 next month. And good god, this video came about at the perfect time.
That KH video from you is going to hit!
Thanks bt I needed this. I’m still in uni but that anxiety of the future is there, this video helped me a bit, thanks man
That's what I feel like pushing closer to 40 unamarried and unemployable. The start of the video, I mean.
different perspective, but I get feeling behind growing up. being trans with a family I had to hide it from felt like being in stasis for so long. eventually I came to the same conclusion as you that progress is not 1:1 for everyone. learning how to be social and style myself in my mid 20s wasn't ideal, but that's okay. early 30s to me looks like a small apartment with my cat, staying up late and playing the same games with friends now, watching seasonal anime still, knowing how to actually cook food, and feeling comfortable in how I present to the world. still have a ways to go on things, but 30 is just a number. it hasn't slowed me down at all glad you're feeling better about it :>
Hi bubbletea. I'm 20 years old, 21 this year. I was never scared of growing up, to get older and this thing, I always thought of me to be a not much good looking guy so I don't care if I'll be even less good looking. But now I feel scared. Because my last year of school broke every security I had, of me and my future. So right now I don't know what to do, what job to do or what to study. It doesn't help the fact that I have had a horrible headache since October, so even if I want to try to work I'm not in the condition to do so. So right now I'm blind about the future. And that really scares me.
go see a doctor about that headache. please. it's february now.
@_bubbletea Of course I went to a doctor 🤣 I'm following a therapy right now and I'm feeling better but still not healed. I have tried some other therapies before but they didn't work, only this one is giving me benefits, and I've been following it since the 30th of December. Anyway I didn't expect you to comment, and specifically my last line but still I'm happy to have received a reply.
Baby faces unite!
Good video personally 25 atm and yea i get alot of this
28 going on 29. I’ve wanted to be a RUclips creator since I was 15 and I still have not done it because I’m a perfectionist. Last year I spent a lot of money on a decent PC to help me get started, and I can’t because my mind tells me “Starting now is stupid, you’ll be amateurish and you shouldn’t be an amateur at 28.” The things we tell ourselves, they are debilitating.
Just sort your audio and then start. Being perfectionist is an issue, you just have to accept it's going to be lower than your standards. For a while. Then you get better at it. But you only get better and approach your standards if you actually do it. And if you have a release schedule of 1 video per month or more, it's going to be even harder to feel the end result is good. Focus on having one good thing per video instead of being overall good video. As long as that 1 thing is good, release the video and move to the next. That's one strategy to deal with perfectionism: make concessions to your self ("It's not perfect overall but this goal I set was perfectly achieved").
If a grandma can do fps streams at 65 you can start making youtube videos at 28 man, im 27 and im doing vtuber streams so just do it!
i turned 30 three days ago and still scared of it ALSO KINGDOM HEARTS WHEN
Ah! Looks like some experiences in the world are universal... 27 and scared shitlles off the big day here. But I do feel a little better knowing that I'm not alone in this.
I'm really fortunate that growing up, no one actually important in my life (parents, close friends, favorite teachers) instilled this idea that only certain hobbies/activities/subjects are childish or vice versa. As long as it makes the person happy and it's not actually harming anyone else, then why should we criticize them or it? Everyone's different :,) Always happy to see when someone is no longer afraid of aging! ...well, I can understand fearing the logistics of it (retirement, certain health outcomes, etc.), but that's it's own separate topic lol. Otherwise age is just a number~ Nice thoughts!
5:30 if you dont have facial hair or shave I feel like a tone of men in there late 20s or 30s would look like teens today
I'm about to be 25 and going to start college, this year and to be honest I'm not that afraid of turning 30. I already know what I want to be and nothing will change my mind. Who knows what awaits me in the next 5 years but I'm ready for it.
9:27 now what was this 😭
I'm already into my 30's, 33 going on 34, and like you I'm finding it less daunting than I expected. I can't say too much without getting too personal, but I guess the only areas I feel behind where I'd expected to be are in romance and "dream job", but I'm okay with both because I've come to realize being single is better than being in a bad relationship, while any career in the videogame companies I'd like to work at would almost certainly force me to kill my channel. It's about finding a balance where you're satisfied with what you've got in life. I'll admit I'm now scared of turning 40 though, but the feeling might fade once I get closer. Main thing I've realized is at every point in my life, I look back on my previous "stage" and sigh at how much of an idiot I was back then, saying I'm way more mature now. And then I'd reach another life stage and the process repeats. (Kindergarten > Primary School > High School > University > Mid 20's > Early 30's > ???) Someone thought I was a student when I was at an art supplies store recently. That felt good I guess. Based Tokyo Mirage Sessions footage use? 1:57 And of course, Trump did something even more insane after this, given it wasn't shown it was likely after you worked on this video. 4:00 ARGH CURSED SONIC FEET GET IT AWAY! 9:57 ...Holy crap it's been so long since I heard Haley Joel Osment sounding like an actual child that this jumpscared me.
I'm pretty sure I won't make it to my 30s. Lol
That's what I've always thought, but I just turned 29 a couple days ago lmao
I will be 27 in less than 2 months and am stressing out over a bunch of things rn. Really felt like I needed some reassurance like this. Thank you.
I'm 33, going to become 34 this year. It's weird how we don't get "old" in our mind, we just accept "i'm old, so i should act the part". I don't watch animes anymore, don't care much about movies and entertainment in general, things like working to build a house take priority now. At least i still play games at the end of the day. When i stop playing games, i'll be truly gone.
There is a RUclips channel with an old woman who is well on in their old age and still passionately discussing and playing JRPGs and other games. It really is just passion, and nothing else matters. Maybe your passions have just adjusted slightly right now.
Im 32 and refuse to accept that mentality lmao
Wait you are 29 turning to 30 this year?
This was a good watch bro, Learned a lot from it and it inspired me to make some of my own title cards
bro you gotta learn to finish what you start. animes are worth finishing man.. attention spans are broken man
With the reference to writing a video being like an English essay, summarization should be used like quotes! Use it sparingly as a tool to support your point, rather than anchoring a large chunk of your paragraph/video on it.
what program do you use for video editing??
davinci resolve
Both Sonic X and Beastars (Season One) have informative Eyecatchers, while Beastars (Season 2) has Stylish aesthetic eyecatchers (a random character appears on a wall and then the wall breaks while the series logo appear), I hope the final season keeps the eyecatchers (even if it will not get aired on Fuji TV)
But when it is abused as everyday's bread in a franchise, don't you think it's a problem? Welcome to the Sonic/Pokémon problem.
For me the intimidating part is the editing/visual/audio generation, gathering footage, etc. I don’t know anything about that stuff and I get lost when I try to look up how to get started. Even picking an editing software feels like a chance to make huge errors.
regarding consistency, let’s say, hypothetically, someone made a sea of stars video, a game made by a studio that has only made one other game that the vid author has not played. would it be unreasonable to cover the RPG genre in general as the target audience?
i have never made good video ever in my life but somehow few video blew up for some reason
Very nice! Will be using some of these tips on my next video! Question... how did you get this blue theme in your RUclips? Looks clean
soliciting much more of an "ah, so that's why it's like that" response more than "ah, so that's how it's done!"
I have been making educational videos for years, but have always REALLY wanted to jump into making video essays. But, there’s not a lot of great material out there to learn how. Thank you for this. This has tipped the scale for me, and I’ll be working on my first video essay soon. Thank you so much for making this!
You forgot one thing when you show a game in the video , PUT. IT'S. NAME.
Yeah of course it isn't very hard none of the people who make them have actually done a real academic essay with sources that aren't pulled out of you ass and tangible arguments
the mario essay at the beginning had me laughing very hard for many minutes
banger
Oh you’re the persona endings guy
You have the most video essay voice ever
my video essays will totally take off (copium)
Huge fan of video essays. Thanks for the guide. It kinda looks like magic from this side of the fence, although when I've consumed coffee I seem to have a better grasp of nonfiction text. That's something I've wanted to write about, amongst other things, it feels like a huge mountain to climb (obviously because I haven't tried). Research is the bit that feels most daunting. And also it doesn't help being self-conscious about one's own voice (literally) and generally (in the sense of 'intellectual aptitude'). But I get one must start somewhere and anything feels daunting if you don't give it a swing-so yeah. Dasein etc etc Great video!
Yay! More people making shtty video essays about niche video games topics in recommendations!
I was wondering, regarding the research part, since I'm writing a video about Giten Megami Tensei, my only source for information are magazines that honestly lack interviews and other stuff that isn't important (mostly summarizes on the game's new mechanics), so finding information is stupidly hard even in Japanese, so in that case, what would be the best to do? The games I mostly want to make videos about are super obscure too...
It's crazy how many points of advice I've given to others verbatim. i'm gonna give this link to other people from here on out.
choops found in da wild
Thank you
It's really nice to see someone in the community that I really respect bring out some points that I agree with and find helpful when it comes to making videos. While I don't follow everything that you mentioned in this video all of the time, it's so nice to hear that someone I have been watching for a while has been doing some of the same things I have been trying to do with my own work. Just a question for you though. What do you consider necessary when to summary in RUclips videos? Me personally, I really enjoy it when someone goes in depth with all of the story beats of something that I absolutely because it feels like I am having a conversation with that person about that piece of media. And I have been writing my own video about Persona 3 Reload for a few months now bringing up every single plot point because I really enjoyed everything about this game's story. I tried to throw in some analysis and jokes here and there (because I am not trying to make a super duper serious video about it), but I'm not sure if people would want to watch that. I am making this video for myself mostly because I really want to make a video that I would want to watch. I just curious if you think that this could still land an audience even if it is very summary heavy for one part of the video. Anyways, thank you for making this video! It really gave me the motivation to keep on writing my own videos! Can't wait to see what you make next!
a good amount of people like in-depth summarizations. if the entire point of your video is to do a full comprehensive breakdown of the story, that's perfectly fine. if there's some sort of greater idea you're trying to get across, then you want to make sure that you're explaining why you're bringing every point in the story you deem necessary. make sure it enforces your main point if it's something other than just explaining the story.
@@_bubbletea Gotcha. Thank you for clarifying this for me! I really appreciate it!
