I am a Japanese who grew up listening to American/British rock music for over 35 years, from the 80's to today. I was proud to say “I don't want to listen to this fake music with maid costumes” and “I am the real thing”, but two months ago, all that was changed. When I was in junior high school, information on American music was scarce, and I was very jealous of concerts, magazines, and TV shows in the US. I am surprised that the reverse is happening now.😀 By the way, many Japanese listen to American rock, but most of them don't understand English. ” They enjoy the “music”. The language is secondary.

The best part of watching the list of people trashing Babymetal is hearing the comments from people saying they were a fad that wouldn’t last a week. Now here we are, almost a generation later and Babymetal is strong AF.

This band has unfortunately fallen apart. There are only 3 of the original 6 members remaining. The saxophonist was fired over some very ambiguous “contract violation” and the drummer and keyboardist/growler both quit this last month. The 3 remaining girls do nothing but sit around and film themselves getting wasted. They only released one new song in the past year. I don’t think they’re going to be around much longer…which is sad because they had a good thing going.

Everyone throws a party in front of the cave. Amaterasu comes out of the cave looking happy. I think this song is about that kind of myth.

While it still hasn't been confirmed, I have a theory about what exactly happened with HAGANE. After Lockdown ended, Sakura started getting involved with Falcom Sound Team JDK and Bushiroad Media. With Falcom Sound Team JDK, it's implied that she wrote or at least recorded the guitar parts for several tracks for the "Kuro no Kiseki" OST (based on the titles of some of her RUclips videos where she plays tracks from that exact game). She also started touring with JDK Band, which is affiliated with Sound Team JDK, and performs the music from Falcom's games live on stage in Japan, China and Korea (they're particularly popular in China and Korea). Going on several tours in Asia with JDK Band would naturally have made it difficult for her to tour with HAGANE during that time, or even do rehearsals with the band. It's not unthinkable that Kanako, Uyu and Mayto simply got enough of the band (HAGANE) not making much progress. They didn't have a label, and thus had to pay for everything themselves, and had to do all the promotion. Sakura seeing some success both with her RUclips channel and with JDK Band might not have sat well with the others, given that she only became more successful after HAGANE started taking off, while the others were left behind. So Uyu and Mayto left to form Mana Diagram, Kanako joined the incredibly short-lived Garden of the Lilium (which only released one single, and hasn't been heard from again). And I'm pretty sure Sayaka is/was in University, and thus didn't really mind the lower time-commitment, so she just stuck around. And if JDK Band's tours weren't enough to make the other members leave, it was probably around the same time as HAGANE's "disbandment", that Sakura was scouted by Bushiroad Media for the newest addition to their D4DJ franchise, the Electro-Rock group EGO_EGG. This would naturally mean that Sakura would have even less time for HAGANE, so if she let the other band members know that she would be taking on another huge project, I would understand why they would leave. I don't think Sakura necessarily made any bad decisions, but I also don't blame Uyu and Mayto for leaving if it's because they felt that Sakura wasn't prioritizing their band high enough. At least they gave a final show together. I want to point out that this is all speculation, and should not be taken as fact. It's just one fan's crazy theory about what may have happened to cause three of HAGANE's members to leave. Why did Kanako not join Uyu and Mayto in Mana Diagram? That's anyone's guess. Regardless of what actually happened, I'm glad that Sakura has found a new vocalist (Nagi) and drummer (JUNNA) for HAGANE, and that Uyu and Mayto are being amazing in their new band. And in Mayto's case also being support guitarist for freaking HIZAKI's solo project (you know, the HIZAKI from the Visual Kei/Power Metal bands Versailles and JUPITER and one of the greatest Japanese shredders of all time). Girl's moving up in the world.

Heavy Metal is an overall umbrella of heavily distorted guitar driven music. There are probably more sub genres of heavy metal. Watch Sam Dunn's Metal Evolution which aired on VH-1 Classic in 2011.

to the 4 tomodachi(s) who have taken up the majority of my internet usage for the past couple of years- thank you all for your collective insights and opinions on the music we all love and for creating a community that has remained supportive and respectful toward its members and our insatiable appetite for awesome music from across the ocean. The podcast was great while it lasted and just like all musical super groups who have come and gone - the flames on the stovetop burned bright and strong but the oil in the pan burned off way to quickly. Go to the supermarket and buy all the oil they have and hurry back. we will be waiting in the dining room. lmao. No excuses now! I'm sure Andrew will be happy to give you guys a ride. Thanks for the update. Anytime you have a podcast with more than 1-2 people it's always difficult to maintain a full cast when real life happens. Especially when you're dedicating weekends in the summer when people want to get outside. No harm, no foul.

While we have everyone here this last time. I thought I would update you all with some cool Babymetal news. As some of you may or may not know. Babymetal performed at the Sick New World Festival in Vegas last month. They also had a suprise appearance later in the night with Bring Me The Horizon to perform Kingslayer. This was completely unexpected and marks only the second time it's been performed live with Oli outside Japan 's Next_Fest last year. __________________________________________ The Festival was a f*** blast & well worth my $800 spent getting my VIP tickets lol. Also in other Babymetal news, Amazon just released Metal Heaven!! Which, according to Amazon's music, critics is the best Metal & hard rock songs. Which have released so far this year. It's a little over 5 hours long & 84 songs in the track list. Leave it All Behind feat. F.Hero, Bodyslam & Babymetal came in at # 4 on the trackist. Which is definitely some good PR news for BM fans. In addition to a massive tease on an Electric Callboy collaberation later, perhaps which has been making the rounds. Which would be f*** epic if proven true. __________________________________________________ This is really some great news going into the summer. Also, LoveBites will be making their first US appearance later this fall at ProgPower USA in Atlanta as well. Looking forward to that one!! Anyways I am sorry to hear about GAIJIN Guys. You guys, I looked forward to every Sunday. It will leave a big void in my life now. However, I understand you need some time to sort things out. Just know the community is here to support you guys.
