2016 Ford Explorer 3.5 136,000 miles. Issues with “Service charging system now” notification on. It would come on only intermittently. Changed the battery and checked connections to the alternator. Finally tracked down the wires that had been bite by a mouse most likely. Hope this helps those of you in similar situation.

      Might suggest using two jacks one hold frame up and other to hold up the rotor and strut assembly so you can push the ball joint right in

      After further review the CV seems shot, didn’t even notice how extended the inner boot was and cannot turn it or compress so new one on the way. It’s about an inch or two off so there is no chance of lining up.@@masterofnone729

      You are lucky I only have 130k. I bought it brand new so a majority of the miles are highway. I think the control arm was hiding the CV issue. @@masterofnone729

    How do you replace a section of fuse cartridge?

  • @minnesnowda2510
    @minnesnowda2510 Год назад

    So I’ve seen this several times now, where the alternator isn’t actually bad but the shops or dealers will have you believe that’s the problem, then the issue comes back again. The fuse box itself has a large metal fuse that cannot be replaced, that is the issue where you have to actually replace the whole fuse box, and you may experience the same intermittent issues.. the large 2 wires come in and connect to that metal piece on the fuse box, and this runs through the fuse box and connects to other fuses

    • @masterofnone729
      @masterofnone729 Год назад

      Yes it wears the tires like normal now I replaced them and didn’t get an alignment after because they are stationary parts. If you think about it if you need an alignment either something is worn or you replaced tie rods and need adjusted a bit

      Shortly after I asked you, the Rear lateral control arm separated at the ball end. I posted the video on my channel. My wife was driving it. I replaced it using the tie rod end from the front of the flex, it's way heavier than the original. It's just sad really.

      I would guess your voltage regulator on the alternator is intermittently working. You could take it off to test but a lot of times it will test fine but there are some old school mechanics that can put it on their machine and the needle will barely jump kinda like having your Blood pressure taken it will almost tick a bit. Let me know what it ends up being but I would say the alternator needs replaced.

  • @lennyjamesthunderstone7117
    @lennyjamesthunderstone7117 2 года назад

    The connection to the alternator is where your problem is...take it off and clean it cause there's alot of current that comes from there. Clean it good and make sure it's firmly in there tight.

    • @masterofnone729
      @masterofnone729 2 года назад

      Thank you it ended up being the voltage regulator was intermittently working. Due to the vehicle gets driven often I bought a new alternator and went on. I appreciate the insight though.
