Legend, you’ve just saved me a fortune. After 3 weeks of no hot water I replaced pcb (thankfully a cheap eBay second) and still failed. Put on my big girl pants to have a go myself in the depths of the scary boiler beast and Venturi was completely blocked. Quick cocktail stick and pipe cleaning and now fires again, better than before. Very grateful you enabled me to fix myself with zero boiler knowledge. Thank you!

for those whose tubine is stuck solid. 1. remove pump (2 screws). That will give you space. 2. Use 18 mm six sided socket (from toolstation). standard 18 mm 12 sided will slip. 3. get a breaker bar, or extended rachet. (spray some wd40 on flow turbine) you should be able to get off.

That's a proper service there, cheap engineer just checking operation and clean trap

We had groaning noise each time boiler fired up, which has now disappeared after engineer from Ideal replaced burner because we weren't getting any hot water.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve got a Baxi Platinum and an 18mm socket fits well but the whole cartridge is seized in the manifold…..I’ve tried a lot of force but it’s not moving. Any tips? Thanks.

I turned the square plastic bearing block round on the back of the machine but the scraping noise is still present as if the front of the drum is rubbing on metal, but further investigation shows there is a felt lining between the front rim of the drum and the plastic door housing, looks like I will have to buy a new one 😢 thanks for video anyway 👍

Hi, I have an ariston e combi evo. Do you know if a smart thermostat would be compatible with it, and which one? At the moment we have no thermostat and can only control the heating through on/off on the boiler. Thanks

Just has our boiler serviced by heatforce who fitted the boiler 3 years ago and they didnt do half of what you did when they serviced it as i was there the whole time, it has a TF1 Sigma filter should he cleaned this as he didnt do anything we paid a lot for the service and he didnt seem to do much for the ammount we paid

Entering the engineer mode when setting the output is this the percentage output or the temperature. I want to use this for balancing so as to have a constant output. Modulation is great not just when you are trying to set a drop which keeps changing.

many thanks for your video, it's the only one I found that actually explains draining the boiler, and not the whole system. Need a little help from you or anyone else that can help me with this query. The screws that you turned to stop the hot and cold water flow has imbedded screws. Do I need to loosen the inner screw before shutting of the flow to the taps? I need to replace the heat exchanger.

Suprima 100L Same problem get spark but no start up. Checked the venturi valve as video but the 100L looks nothing like yours. Only 1 cm long within fan and opening full dia size 3mm. Is that correct?

My Alpha cd32 burner was only firing for 50 seconds before switching off every 4 minutes. Radiators are all hot. The burner short cycles even when warming the system from cold. The upper pcb dial is turned to full burn. Is this dial used to enter service mode or to safely turn down the burner and reduce cycling on and off?

My boiler keep displaying 0 and won't come on with water or heattint

I have a six year old Alpha intec boiler and it has broken down with the same thing once a year, every year since installation. The diverter valve goes. Is this a problem on all Alphas? I could do with knowing how to change one when the warranty runs out.

Hi mate, just wanted to ask what is the best programe for my vaillant ecotec 832 combi boiler. After I seen your video I have changed my boiler to p01 as my my boiler was i think on p02 and the radiators were not going more than 50 degree C. But after I changed it to p01 now my radiators are heating at 75 degree C. Why couldn’t I get my radiators to get to 75C with p02 if it is more efficient to run the boiler? Was it because I think pressure was a bit low? Also had a timer sign flashing when it was on p02 but once I put it on p01 then that sign was gone.

Question, If the radiators are bleed reducing the water in this system must water be let into the system via a valve to correct the pressure or does the system connect directly to the mains?
