thx for the vid! very vell put together and great speed. Quick question: Can you upgrade the OS SDD?
You are welcome. Thank you for watching. To a bigger size? Sure. Feel free to share later on what you were able to achieve.
Super helpful thank you
You are welcome. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thanks for creating this video. I am not too familiar with taking PCs apart and changing hardware. This was very simple to follow.
You are welcome. Thank you for taking the time to watch it. You gained useful experience now and can call yourself "PC builder aficionado". ;)
Thank you! Is there an advantage to using one slot over the other?
You are welcome. Thank you for watching. This is a good question. Best to check the manual you got with the MBO or just download the pdf from ASRock. Even better, ask X's AI version Brok.
Thanks for the information i laughed a little because ibsaw you forgot to reconnect the new battery
Thank you for watching. Yep, you are right. Didn't include the part of the video where I reconnect it again. Editing mistake.
Hello there! Do you think it's possible to install 2280 ssd? Thx!
Hi. Thank you for watching. Yes, of course. 2280 is possible. You have buying recommendations in the description box on Amazon, below the video.
@ Thanks a lot!
m2 ssd standoff screw has many different lengths, can you clearly state the parameters and properties so I can buy correctly, thank you very much 😢
Thank you for watching. I can't, the one and the only one I had was very short and it fit. They are not expensive, can't you buy few sorts in one kit? Shouldn't be difficult to find.
Thanks great guide.
You are welcome, I am glad it was helpful to you.
After replaced the SSD, can you create a video on how to install Windows 11 on Lenovo B590 ?
Thank you for watching. This one is a bit challenging. You need a modified version of Windows 11 installation because most B590 models don't have TPM module on the MBO. This is a prerequisite of Windows 11. My channel is mostly about laptop and hardware nowdays.
Hey thanks for the tip! Do you know if it works on the bigger screen model Ideapad3 17ADA05 ? AMD Ryzen integrated, 8GB RAM.
You are welcome. Thank you for watching. Compare the hardware of the two models side by side? CPU, MBO the same? It should work also then. But you never know 100% with RAM modules. They could be faulty brand new coming from the factory.
@smooth.IT.operator awesome thank you for your help, I'll compare and try! See you soon for the result 🙌
Successful upgrading.
@@celikba Successful upgrading.
Hey @@smooth.IT.operator I just replaced the Samsung 4GB 3200 memory with a Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2400 👌 It works very well, Windows 11 at 45% instead of 65-70% after the boot
💥 Bro, you're the MVP! 🙌 No more burning eyes while rocking JDownloader now! 😎🖤👾
You are welcome. Thank you for watching. Yeah, I had almost everything on dark theme on my PC except the JD so had to do something about it and make this video along the way by following a guide from Reddit.
If the battery is out of power, do I still need to open the notebook to disconnect it?
Thank you for watching. Even if you drained your battery still disconnect if from the motherboard if you intend to touch any of the components and especially the screen panel connector.
What if your band breaks before pulling it out entirely? We can't open screen anymore?
Thank you for watching. You will be able to separate it still, not a strong adhesive. It looks a bit problematic but really it is not.
Hi good day i lost my ssd/hdd bracket, can dind any in store near me,what other model have similar bracket??or is there any??thank you sir..
Thank you for watching Sir. There are links for the bracket in the description of the video on Amazon. Safe to open. Have a look please.
What happens to data if I clear the cmos
Hello. Nothing happens to your actual data on your hard drive. You just reset the setting of your BIOS/UEFI and motherboard.
Man love your video i hope i can upgrade my laptop on my own do i need to worry about that bios part or somethin? Gob bless you and your family!(Please respond:)))))
You are welcome. Thank you for watching. BIOS should recognize your new hardware automatically. It might take longer to boot to Windows for the first time. Don't interrupt it. Successful upgrading and hope you learn a lot in the process!
best content creator ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️✨
Thank you for watching. Very kind of you.
What is the size of the standoff you used that works, im from another country and cant use Amazon, so i have to search by comparing size that works in sites from here
Have a look at the amazon link in the description of the video. Hopefully you will find dimensions there.
Do you know the maximum ram capacity? Some spec sheets say 32mb (2x16), some say 64mb (2x32). Many thanks
Thank you for watching. You can trust the official specs. I would stay safe with 32GB, 64GB working on that laptop? I doubt it.
Muchas gracias, mis ojos lo agradecen. Saludos desde Chile.
You are welcome, thank you for watching.
Thanks for the video, i have the same model, how did you know which battery was failing? Somehow looked at some identifier you found from running a command in OS, and then found it on the battery? Did you end up replacing the battery, if yes, where did you get the battery from? Thanks
Thank you for watching. I opened the laptop and disconnected one battery. Then I plugged in the charger and started Windows and noticed that the good battery was charging observing the battery icon in the taskbar. Owner of the laptop didn't want to replace the second battery that failed. You can get the batteries from Amazon links I put in the description box below the video. Or just contact Lenovo dealership or service in your country. Send them an email.
Has anyone tried it with the caddy from the link?
Thank you!
You are welcome. Thank you for watching.
What is the size of standoff screw?
Thank you for watching. Very small. lol Don't know the precise measurements honestly. Check the Amazon link for it in the description box.
it is good to use screen protector ? on laptop
Thank you for watching. Haven't ever used it. Ask ChatGPT or Google search for a good article.
Hello Thanks for the info...nice video! Do you think I can install an additional nano disk (Lenovo 1080PRO 4TB SSD M2 NGFF SSD SATA 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVME) 4terabytes? will be supported? I found an offer on Aliexpress and it's super cheap...40€ Just checked better online...looks like a crappy imitation of the real thing..
Thank you for watching. WOW 4TB of NVMe storage! Try it and if it doesn't work you can always sell it for double the price. You will do whatever is best for you. Good luck.
thank you so much please i have a question, I have same laptop in your video, my Drive Model is Micron 2210S NVMe 512GB, Can i add another sata hard drive ?
You are welcome, thank you for watching. Yes, you can freely add a SATA HDD, hope you got a cable and caddy/bracket.
You failed to mention that 2 of the black screws for the outside cover (back) are shorter than the others
Thank your for watching, if I did then I accept full responsibility. Hope you were able to get your job done despite.
@@smooth.IT.operator Actually not. I managed to replace the battery but the computer would not run even plugged in. Upon investigation I found I had mangled the end of the flat cable from the touch pad. Now I can't find a replacement.
@@ramtek2702 Sorry to hear it. It could be challenging to find spare parts, maybe even used ones on Ebay, Amazon or Ali? You should be able to run your laptop without the touchpad plugged into the MBO I believe so your issue of laptop not starting might be deeper than that.
@@smooth.IT.operator I've already come up empty on all of your suggestions, but thanks anyway. What I suspect is the mangled contacts on the cable caused a short in the logic preventing startup. I will try running without a cable to see if I destroyed the logic permanently. I've done quite a lot of electronic assembly like this and that is the poorest style cable termination/assembly I've seen. Very easily damaged without knowing it.
Thxx bro🙏🙏, my laptop is working

Thank you for watching and thank you for the useful feedback. Is your Windows stable and booting properly and doesn't crash when you work on the laptop?
Thank you, my eyes are grateful for your help. XD
You are welcome, thank you for watching.
Which size of screw did you use for opening the motherboard nuts?
Thank you for watching. Couldn't tell precisely really.
@@smooth.IT.operator After upgrading the SSD, the back cover didn't fit properly. What should we do now. Is there any suggestions?
@@asifraj321 I see. Thank you for explaining. My suggestion is yes, get shorter screws if you used longer ones and they are preventing the backcover to fit properly.
I have 8 gb of ram in my laptop pf same model, can I add another 8 gb ram and make it 16gb?
Thank you for watching. If you add a single 8GB RAM module you will have 12 GB. 4GB is soldered already onto the motherboard.
Am i the only one who thinks that jdownloader in black looks worse than before? idk why but my eyes start to hurt, i will uninstall it and reverse it to white, but thanks for your tutorial anyway

My battery lock switch is stuck , how can I take it out?
Thank you for watching and commenting. If the battery is stuck, use a plastic pry tool to gently lift it from the compartment. Start from one corner and slowly work your way around the battery to loosen it.
Bro let's make a gaming test 😅
Is it ok if i choose 1tb for the ssd? Thanks!
Thank you for watching. I believe so. Please share what you were able to accomplish.
Where is the CMOS battery of this PC located???
@@emmanueljoshua5074 Thank you for watching. Get the serial number located on the back cover of your laptop. Then go to HP support pages, enter the serial number and download the service manual pdf. You got everything in the manual.
Thank you for this. I have 786 GB storage available and the system is slow. Tried everything. I use to study via websites. I have 4 GB RAM tgought it would be enough. Thinking of upgrading RAM as task manager shows 81% memory used when I have just website and PDFs opened. Haven't upgraded RAM and SDD storage yet. Thank you again. Open to any suggestions.

Hi. Thank you for watching. You mean between charging or you mean long term usage? Delivered this to my friend so really have no clue about both honestly. 😁
thanks for posting a link to the standoff.
You are welcome. Thank you for watching.
@smooth.IT.operator did the standoff sit flush on the motherboard? I screwed it in, but it doesn't screw in completely. I used a tool to screw it some more and it actually broke.
@@christ5687 Excellent question. The one in this very vid is so short and had to do approx. only one and a half full twist, almost to the point that I was unsure did it really sit properly but it did. My English might not be precise. ;)
a question sir i have this laptop and it's like a little different as it has bigger battery but not sata ssd slot it's same 15ALC6 my question is i check on crucial it says it can support a 16gb ram stick so max ram 20gb can u check if it support 16gb stick i read some reviews and it says it work
Thank you for watching. This I found on Lenovo forum: "Based on specs, for models with 4GB onboard, the maximum memory capacity would be 12GB, while the 16GB is applicable to those with 8GB onboard, and this should increase the usable RAM"
@@smooth.IT.operator thanks I also read that but when I go to crucial site and they scan my PC it suggest I can also use 16gb stick. And thanks for reply I will do some more research
