When Dragon Assault refers to "Flying Special Power", it means that you get an extra attack die on the first attack if Sonlen moved and used his Flying ability this turn. So long as he moves at least 1 hex, he gets the extra attack die. I believe that's how it works.

Yeah, I do wish Renegade had reworked some of the Avalon Hill stuff to be common or uncommon. In-store promos, especially, would help foster consistent interest in community play, since it's not a one-and-done thing.

I agree. I'd definitely like to see some common army expansions in the future, so long as they aren't easy to spam and abuse

The main reason avalon didn't make anything common was because it was all from AoA master set, and they didn't want people to have to feel like they needed multiple master sets for a complete army

@@megabubfish that is why heroscape failed before because they mixed Commons and uniques, because of that stores couldn't sell, the reason they couldn't sell was because no one wanted multiple uniques,, what to get the commons they needed multiple uniques which was waste of money,, Commons are absolutely going to be coming out separately to

@@megabubfish It's surprisingly compact and dense. I haven't had any trouble maneuvering it on a map, but there is definitely some denial when its front facing for things with wide wingspans like nilfeim or xenithrax

Maxen is great! He's always a good pick and fits in nicely with any warband. Plus he's a dwarf, which gives him bonus points!

The Froglodytes are some of my favorite followers in the game! They're perfectly annoying for your opponent and are adorable models 🐸

She's probably the best speed-buffing champion in the game!

Keera and her dragons are some of the scariest units in the game! Anytime my opponent brings her, I know I'm in for a tough match.

That's a bit harsh! I think that the new Eisenek stuff looks super strong, although I haven't been able to test any of it yet. But I do agree that some of the wave 3 releases look nuts

@@frogofwargaming Nah, Bears are super strong. like Iron Lich + Necrotechs vs Bears + Alastair I take bears everyday and yet the combo cost less than the Eisenek combo. Bears are 4 and have that supplementary defense which is very helpful, with 3 defense Necrotech often lose both their lives in one attack which just hurts so much.

@@frogofwargaming I've played multiples games with and vs Necrotech+Iron lich already and it's high tier in then new stuff, fast and can catch heroes, but can't compete vs massed commons from the old stuff. The combo just cost too much.

Yeah, the bears certainly are strong! Not to spoil our next tier-list, but I think that Alastair is busted as hell, so I don't know if he's a good gage to compare other units against.

That's fair! Although, not many things in the game can complete against mobs of common squads. Quantity will always beat quality eventually!

Thanks! The colored plastic is good for new players and helps the models stand out on the table, but having them painted doesn't impede gameplay at all. I've also seen some people who paint the rims of the bases to match the classes' color.

Believe it or not, my dice tray is actually the inner linning of an old purse! I view most objects through the lense of "Would this work for tabletop gaming?" 😆

The sub-par paint jobs paired with the massive price hikes have certainly hurt the relaunch of this game... Those are the big reasons why I haven't purchased any new Heroscape yet, despite being an almost lifelong fan of the game. And while I do think that most of the legacy figures look better than the new stuff, I really like the Eisenek units. I think they look neat, aesthetically and gameplay-wise 👌

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I also thought that Raakchott was a lot more powerful until Earl reread the card to me. Although surrounding him with your own squishy units is a neat idea! You could even use units that destroy thenselves (like the Nagrubs) to farm consume markers. Could be a fun strategy! Although the payoff is still a bit underwhelming...

Glinerva could absolutely be an S-tier figure, especially depending on your opponent's list. It is tricky to gauge the power level of her auro though. I'm certainly curious how the community will rate her once people have had the chance to test her out. I agree that Queen Qhyrion is a phenomenally designed model 👌 What are the VC Crypt Guardians?

@@frogofwargaming Crypt Guardians are custom units by C3V that were designed to make Sudema more of a viable character. I'm gonna add Qhyrion to that army cause the Guardians are able to bond with any Queen! It'll be slow, but should at least be a lot of fun.

Good point! I believe we discuss that synergy in the video. Even still, I dislike Dorim's charge ability. It's clunkily worded and will definitely confuse new players.

@@frogofwargaming what's confusing? It adds one movement point and the ability to re-roll an attack die is big. Just because you don't have axegrinders is no reason to downgrade him. Bonding is huge in the game.

I found the wording on Dorim's Charge ability to be clunky and confusing. It isn't inherently obvious what units he synergizes with, and as a starter set hero, that's a knock against him in my book. Rerolling a single attack die is fine, but isn't something that's going to make me pick him over more interesting units. BUT, I still think he's okay. He's got good offense and average defense. I think Dorim is a fine pick, I just don't think he's particularly powerful or exciting.
