I'm installing a new PCM that is supposed to be programmed to my vin when I get it. I only have one key for this car that is working on the PCM I'm going to replace. Is there any way that when I put new Pcm in the car will just start and I won't have to reprogram the key.. or do I I have to do these steps almost certainly?? Also does this reprogramming have to do with the anti theft reprograming as well ? And ty for your response earlier so fast

If you purchased the PCM from them they offer technical support on their website. If you didn't have them program the computer for you this procedure wont work

@@ryand3248 it is from them, and the process isn’t working. Particularly, the security light NEVER shuts off and on top of that, im getting message “service theft system” while the only OBD code I get is camshaft position needs relearned. It’s a 2014 impala limited. Used to be a police car, is rebuilt. But I’m suspicious enough now of the BCM that I’m going to replace that next…. Just not excited about living in this car I’ll have to push to the damn street and hope I pick the right pvt property to push it to… BCM also has to be programmed. So I’m going to guess I still have a week to a week and a half wait on that once I’ve ordered it…

Same process but instead of turning the key, hold the brake and push the button

The ECU is integrated with the vehicle's security system, including the keys and ignition. It will likely need reprogramming because it is linked to the original (donor) vehicle.

The process will be the same. Instead of turning the key, just press the start button with the key close and hold the brake pedal as if you were going to start the vehicle.

No, just one key and the other will be programmed as well as long as both keys were previously programmed and functioning.

One solution could be sending you a new ECU for your 300c with the SKIM disabled. We’ll need to verify the VIN and ensure we have the correct calibration files for your export model. The 2007 Silverado uses the Passlock system. This is the correct video to follow if you have purchased a programmed ECM from us.

Generally speaking, from the early 90's, most ECMs require specific coding and calibration to run correctly and for the vehicle to start.

Did the used ECM work I'm trying to do the same thing with a ECU from the exact same type of vehicle?

It's very unlikely. Modern vehicles require programming specific to the VIN, accurate key codes, and precise calibrations to ensure all features function properly.

@@fatcat4421 I ended up getting one from flagship one for about $300 Which honestly was a good deal They tuned my ecm and learned the key for me (for an extra $50) So it was plug and play Should start right up

If you are replacing the ECU on your venture, the keys you are using must be previously programmed for this process to work (as long as the ECU is programmed correctly) If you do not have a pre-existing key, we would recommend contacting a qualified auto lock smith to assist with key programming

I suggest you confirm this is the correct procedure for your vehicle and that the ECM you replaced is properly programmed and calibrated to your car with the key codes, VIN, etc.
