Statistics Micro Lectures 17: Calculating and Interpreting z Scores
21 час назад
z scores give us a simple way to see how a single score or datum fits into its sample or population. It gives context to that score. This brief video demonstrates how to calculate a z score, and then how to interpret what it means. Statistics Micro Lectures 16: Introducing Percentiles

Once we have a mean and a standard deviation, we can apply this information to a single score to figure out what percentile it falls into. This brief video introduces the idea. Check out my statistics textbook at www.bvtstudents.com/index.php?route=bvtproduct/search&search=ricks
Statistics Micro Lectures 15: Standard Deviation Calculation Method 2

How to calculate the standard deviation for a sample using a simplified equation. This equation is sometimes called the "computational" formula. Check out my statistics textbook at www.bvtstudents.com/index.php?route=bvtproduct/search&search=ricks
Statistics Micro Lectures 6: Samples and Populations

Researchers should know the difference between samples and populations. Populations include everyone with some defining characteristic, but samples are smaller portions of populations that are intended to represent the population. How to calculate the standard deviation for a sample. This is one method that demonstrates the concept of the standard deviation. For a simpler method, see the next video on the playlist. Check out my statistics textbook at www.bvtstudents.com/index.php?route=bvtproduct/search&search=ricks
Statistics Micro Lectures 13: Measures of Variation

The range and the standard deviation give us an idea of how spread out the data are in a distribution. This brief video introduces the basic concept of both. Check out my statistics textbook at www.bvtstudents.com/index.php?route=bvtproduct/search&search=ricks
Statistics Micro Lectures 12: Central Tendency - The Mode
Просмотров 314 дней назад
Measures of central tendency give a value to represent the average, typical, or expected response in a dataset. The mode is the most frequently occurring value of a variable in a dataset. This brief lecture demonstrates how to find it, and contrasts the pros and cons of the different central tendency measures. Check out my statistics textbook at www.bvtstudents.com/index.php?route=bvtproduct/se...
Statistics Micro Lectures 11: Central Tendency - The Median
Просмотров 1214 дней назад
Measures of central tendency give a value to represent the average, typical, or expected response in a dataset. The median is the value right in the middle of a dataset when ranked from lowest to highest value. This presentation demonstrates why it is sometimes better than the mean, and how to find it. When histograms are unusually peaked or flat, then there is something going on with their kurtosis. This video briefly describes leptokurtosis (excess positive kurtosis) and platykurtosis (excess negative kurtosis). Whoah... This is way off. Kurtosis doesn't measure peak at all. You can have perfectly flat-topped distributions with near infinite kurtosis, and you can have infinitely peaked distributions with negative excess kurtosis. Kurtosis measures extremes (tails) only. The reason to be worried about kurtosis is the extremes, or outliers, that you have in the leptokurtic case. It has nothing to do with the peak. I have almost all new parts on my John Deere D140 and now it seems it has lost some power because it seems to be bogging down when I hit some thick or higher grass and almost seems to want to shut down unless I slow down.....I have wondered if the drive belt could have anything to do with this because I did notice it has some big cracks all along the whole belt....but after doing a google search it seems nobody is mentioning the drive belt for problems such as the engine bogging down and wanting to shut off when I hit thicker grassy areas and higher grass......

I have one and all lights were blinking what I did was shut the breaker off for 5 minutes, reset breaker hit start and it worked so its something to do with timer not reseting.

Nice video - I am having a funny issue where the dishwasher runs OK through the rinse but instead of draining it starts blinking Start light. Was that similar problem you had? Thanks in advance.

It's been a while now, but that is similar to a problem I had when one of the two switches went out. I've had to replace both at different points in this dishwasher's life, so there's a good chance that's it. I hope you could fix it!

Much appreciated, E. My John Deere did the same to me today..and I bought the OEM belt, but 1/2" makes all the difference... Obviously 😔 I went aftermarket v belt and saved a few bucks AND I can now stop my formerly run-away machine.

Hi, I'm so sorry! It may be the other switch, but it really depends on the symptoms. It could also be that the switches are not getting pressed down. Just some ideas. Hard to tell without being there. Good luck!

Studying for fix it ideas: Just installed a brand new G.E. Dishwasher Model: GDF535PGRWW; and I am stuck on All Lights Flashing and won't start. Studied my manual fully now. I have reset the dishwasher via circuit breaker about 8 times now. Same old "all light flashing"reproduced every time. I just left a message w the service department from appliance center I purchased it from. Crossing my finger warranty coverage will get me a fix ASP. Appreciate your DIY fix for lesson :+)

Fixed on my flashing all lites on initial start up problem via a warranty install of new motherboard. I would say GE quality control and pre-testing is below par !!!

Hey man, was fixing a buddies machine and this helped a lot. Same exact switch on same side has gone bad, and somehow it has gotten moisture inside on the motherboard and theres corrosion on the right side (looking down on it like in the video) of the motherboard.

Thank you!! Your video was very, very helpful! I was able to figure out that my white spindle was missing the spring. Went to Home Depot - picked up a box of Assorted Springs in the hardware area. Came home - popped it on after taking the cover off (BTW - used a wooden chopstick to lift the cover and hold it in place (like the prop lever used under the hood of your car to keep the hood up) - that worked like a charm. Screwed the cover back into position, filled the dishwasher soap cup, closed the door - lights came on, and as my husband witnessed - pressed the "Start" button. Bingo! Started up - no hesitation (and didn't have to use the step ladder to prop up against the dishwasher to keep it in place to continue the cycle like I have in the past year almost every night!). I guess I have enough skills to change a light bulb and fix the dishwasher door lights. So - thanks for being a great teacher! I will keep your video handy for future reference!

I also had this exact same issue on our GE dishwasher, to a T, and your instructions were invaluable in fixing the problem. The dishwasher was missing the spring you refer to as well, and this GE replacement on Amazon worked perfectly - General Electric WD03X10026 Dishwasher Spring- www.amazon.com/dp/B00MNMROEI/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_BN.nDb6AP3GPDI. I purchased two of the interlock switches you mentioned, and installed them at the same time, to maximize my chances of success. And it's a relatively quick job, for a fraction of the cost of a repair person :) Thanks so much for making this video!

Thanks for making this video. The work scope ended up being a relatively easy and inexpensive to fix because of this video. Another option to replacing the relays would be to install a jumper across the bad switch until a replacement switch is available. This disable the ability to open the dishwasher mid-cycle since it will no longer stop with the switches jumpered out. Thanks again
