This faculty research project was performed in NAHL's 380 FT Towing Tank. This experiment measured global hull-girder loads in a (segmented) semi-displacement vessel during slamming events. In this video, the segmented model is tested in an irregular seaway.

This experiment is an ongoing (Summer 2020) faculty research project in NAHL's 120 FT Towing Tank. A semi-displacement ship model was outfitted with an instrumented beam to measure shipboard shear forces and bending moments. The ship model will continue to be tested in various (extreme) regular and irregular sea-states.
