    First of all most Dr’s don’t believe in CFS. You have to go to the right specialist..your PCP can’t and won’t diagnose your CFS. It’s hell to prove. I’ve had 5 neuropsychological exams to prove cognitive deficits, Brain MRI to confirm those deficits, my pulmonologist who tears sleep apnea CSM diagnose CFS…and the only way you will get 100% is IF YOU HAVE A SCRIPT FOR BED REST..that pulmonologists can also fill Out a DQB for you. The VA is not going to help you, this process takes time and is hell

    I've been to 6 C&P exams to date, and all but 1 of them was a confusing experience with a doctor that clearly could not care less. They just type away on their computer with a blank expression on their face and try to hurry you out so the next person can come in. All they see is dollar signs. I just got back from my mental health C&P a few hours ago and the doctor did not make eye contact with me 1 time. They really need to do a better job finding medical professionals who care. Driving 2 hours 1 way to an exam they require you to go to in order to complete your claim just to be treated like an inconvenience is unacceptable in my opinion. I hope I'm just getting unlucky with the providers I'm sent to, but I have a strong feeling most people have similar experiences.

    • @VeteranDP
      @VeteranDP 20 дней назад

      I hear you, and I’m sorry you had to deal with that. What’s your current rating? Still filing? That said, it’s incredibly frustrating to go through a C&P exam and be treated like a number instead of a person. You’re right-too many veterans have similar experiences, and it’s unacceptable. Unfortunately, some examiners just don’t take the time to understand the impact of what we’re dealing with, and it’s us who end up suffering for it. My advice is to document everything. If you felt the examiner didn’t take your concerns seriously or didn’t conduct a proper exam, you can submit a written complaint to the VA. You can also request a reexamination. Don’t let a bad exam be the end of your claim. If you need any help navigating this, feel free to reach out.

      @@VeteranDP I'm currently at 94%, most of which is carried by TBI, epilepsy and migraines due to a head injury sustained at NTC a few years ago. I just finished my mental health C&P and I'm waiting to be scheduled for my sleep apnea C&P. What's confusing to me is how having a service connected brain injury that's resulted in developing epilepsy isn't automatically 100% on it's own. I can't legally drive indefinitely. It's infuriating because I know there are vets out there like me with TBI's that don't have the support system I have had the last few years to get by. I don't live in town, so getting anything done requires driving, being driven or having somebody run errands on my behalf. I know several vets who lead normal lives with a 100% rating, and I'm happy for them, but the fact that I have to scratch and claw for 100%, when my life has been completely turned upside down is baffling. Somebody in my family has to call off work to drive me hours away to these C&P exams just to be seen for 5 minutes by a doctor who is often disinterested and borderline disrespectful at times. I apologize for the rant. I just wish things were handled better.

    • @VeteranDP
      @VeteranDP 20 дней назад

      @@brandondillman5841 Do not apologize, brother-it’s not a rant, it’s your truth. I understand, and you’re right. Being stuck at 94% with what you’re dealing with is beyond frustrating, especially when it’s all documented. It’s unfair how they make us jump through hoops while you’re fighting for what you deserve, and your family is making sacrifices. Keep documenting everything, and maybe consider reaching out to a congressional rep-it sometimes helps move things. If you want, feel free to come to my live class tomorrow night, “Navigating VA Claims.” It covers the basics, but I also do a Q&A and would be available to answer questions or just offer some support.

  • @VeteranDP
    @VeteranDP 20 дней назад

    These are some of the common questions I get from transitioning service members starting their BDD claim. First off, if you can file a BDD claim, do it! You’re in the best position to get the rating you deserve shortly after discharge. I personally waited 15 years to file my VA disability claim, and the longer you wait, the harder it becomes to prove service connection. If you’re someone who doesn’t go to medical much, just toughs it out, you still have time to get things documented. While you’re still on active duty, start getting seen and get everything on record. Since you’re still in service, you don’t need a nexus letter. The connection to service (nexus) is already established if you have the records for it. No need to worry about secondary claims right now either. Any condition documented in your service treatment records can be filed as a direct service connection. Grab my BDD course, “How to Navigate Your BDD Claim.” This course takes the guesswork out of the process and helps you put your BDD claim together for the best shot at getting it granted. #vadisabilityclaims #vaclaim #vaclaimhelp #activeduty #bddclaims
