Добавлен 31 янв 2017
Hey. My name is Matt and this channel is all about how I fix and make things. More specifically, older things. Speedometer cables, Old gauges from cars, Even older cars themselves. You'll see me take old gauges apart and repair them, make new cables for older applications and even little bits of me working on some of my own projects like older vehicles. So sit back and enjoy!

MAKING A FREIGHTLINER EXTENTION CABLE
I have the whole set. It's my grab and go when fixing broken air lines on our Turkish made pharmaceutical egg production equipment, really handy set!!!
You'll be back!! Amsoil is overrated 😂
Do you have Whattsap number ?
Hello Can do for me like this for French taxi ? I give you all information you put in ticket . I find for you many cust !
Contact a company called west coast meter sales
Are those specialized crimpers for the collets or would compound wire crimps work? I and a lot of other old tractor enthusiasts have one heck of a time finding decent replacement proofmeter (mechanical tach/rough groundspeed) cables. On that same line of questioning, measuring the square drive is straightforward but do I need to measure the round 'core' or the width of the two 'wings' for the cable ends on your website? I'm on my 2nd replacement cable (neither worked for more than a few seconds) and I really need to know my rpms for pto implements. Yeah, it's a 70+ year old tractor but it has those clydesdale horsepower and not the modern mini-horses horsepower some of the newer tractors are rated with. It also cost roughly the salestax on a new 'equivalent', even if it lacks cup holders and GPS! 😁
I use custom made crimpers with all the sizes I need for casing and for tips
Any advice for the DIY'r for the ends for sale on your site? I have a ratcheting crimper with replaceable jaws (and 4 common crimp sets like square/'heart'), will the square work or do I need to source/fab a hex jaw for a reliable join?
You can use a square crimp in a pinch. I do have single use and crimp blocs you can use in a vice.
What kind of grease is that. Watched two vids so far and you never say…
If the cable is for aircraft it's a type of aeroshell grease. Otherwise it's lithium based called lubriplate
do you have a link to the crimpers you're using?
I have them custom made
Beautiful
Thanks, I was pretty happy with how it turned out.
Nice, can you share with us you arranging your sock and underwears drawers next?
Sure
I recently picked up a 1969 Delta 88 myself and I am also trying to fix it up. I’m having some trouble finding replacement brake drums, do you have any recommendations on where to look?
Rare as hens teeth I'm afraid. The drums I found to be impossible to find unless someone was actively selling them.
@@mattmakenfix9411 ok, good to know, thanks.
You can tell the type of work a man does by the way he takes care of his tools
Waste of money 💰
Absolutely not, stay ignorant
you bet that's an awesome deal
Complete idiots buying and selling snap on tools. Give me 3 reasons why to pay 50x more then cheaper stuff with same lifetime warranty ?
when your a heavy duty mechanic you don't have time to run around and warrantee tool buy cheap and that's exactly what you have Cheap!
1) I mean you clearly can’t do math. 2) Snap On offers things that most non-tool truck brands don’t 3) Not everyone has conveniently located Harbor Freights, Lowes, or Home Depots.
Its not 50x and lifetime warranty is irrelevant. It's not about strength. It's sizing, grip, bite, and the tool actually working properly unlike the cheap crap that doesn't fit, rounds bolts, strips screws, tips mangle, teeth, round and chip, etc, causing nothing but problems and frustration. My time and mental health is worth more then saving a couple dollars. Cheap tools turn a 5 minute job into 5 hours. And even when then don't it's a fight the whole time doing the job bc they don't do what their supposed too.
What kind of grease?
Exactly… he doesn’t seem to answer questions or quickly.
I get busy sometimes. Aeroshell for aircraft cables. Lubriplate for everything else.
They didn't powder coat boxes 40 years ago. It's a one stage paint job. No clearcoat.
Non usi enclosure quando stampi carbonio Prusament?
Nice job, thanks for sharing with us! ;)
Thank you! Cheers!
Dumb, it's oil
All Oil is not just oil. It’s not all made equally in quality. Different formulas for different applications
Amsoil is great, but you still have to change your oil regularly !!!
What’s your contact info to order a ratio adapter?

Back in 1990 I bought a 1969 Olds Delta 88 it was a rust free southern car with a freshly rebuilt 455 Highway Interceptor engine and 400 Turbo-automatic transmission. loved having it as my daily driver for about3 and a half years. Until a man ran through a red light and hit the passenger side so hard it pushed the door and quarter panel in about a foot and a half, bent the frame too. It was rated a total loss by insurance. So I took the cash payout less the buy back and sold all good body suspension parts. While the mighty 455 engine and trans live on in a 1959 Oldsmobile my dad had bought. It was a solid low milage car with a stuck engine from sitting in a storage shed. It was repainted bright yellow with a white top to match my mother's 1959 Olds 98 convertible.
You could rebuild a 3.2 for less $$$.😅
What were the old ones?
Store brand from Canadian Tire
Now you can't eat lunch for 3 months.
Worth it
Great ratchets I love them so this week I bought 3 Stubby Flex Snap On Ratchets 1/2 drive 3/8 drive 1/4 drive 100th Anniversary.💯
I did too went to harbor freight, the money I saved I used to put down for a new truck😂😂
Then couldn't make your payments because your junk tools were always broken 😢
@@AustonioPlays had enough money left over to pay your mama
I picked up the 1/4 and 3/8 so far i didn't get the flex ones but as funny as it is they ate useful
Finding this info is getting difficult, let alone finding people to do it. Thanks.
I make cables for people every day
Don’t know your dad, but the fact he bought and maintained that toolbox in such great condition for 40 years speaks volumes about him. A good, honest, hardworking man 👍 Great toolbox! Now it can be preserved another 40 years
Right on
Where do i buy this?
Try a guy in B.C. called west coast meter sales
Speedometer Hell
Yeah, there's a lot of options.
@@mattmakenfix9411 I was trying to get a speedometer cable for an eaton 10speed. It's extremely hard to find.
Loving that solder setup I have a Packout crate on top of my box for consumables... with a vice on the other side..... You going pretty hard on the have it but not need moto bro.... but I'm no different 😂. My addiction is pliers
Can you comment on the layer adhesion of the PC-CF? From what I hear layer adhesion in 3d printed PC is already not great, and that CF-fill just makes the layer adhesion of any filament worse. That is the only reason its not used for 100% of my high impact functional prints at this point (and the fact that its always out of stock lol)...
ECU work
You could clean up the Snap-On socket for use as a paperweight, a doorstop or a small fishing boat anchor.
Its just the tolerances needed for free movement means there is slop. Ive printed this out myself. Make sure you are not suffering from elephants foot or warping before you commit to print. My version works but looks awful
I don't know, that looks like average size to me.
Nice
Well its pretty damn obvious youll use it for a 3.2 mm bolt of nut lol. Duh
I have an idea for something that size. . .
Who else thought he would skip to him using it in the most ridiculous situation an engineer could come up with. 😂
3d printer
worked on sewing machines, i can say these small wrench are a god send. same with the tiny 4 inch adjustable wrench from crescent
Can someone tell me what is those liquid flux composition that make it not easily evaporate but clean like that?
Did you apply anything to your bedliner top? It has more of a shine and seems to have a less aggressive texture from the ones I've seen online.
Nope, still the same as when I got it
Was recently given my grandpa’s old box after he passed away. Trying to carry on the legacy. Going to get it back to its prime
Me as well, completely filled with tools a long with tons of other smaller boxes that are over flowing as well lol
Mans about to smoke meth in the dark
If you are in germany, i would take it...for real
Said the same-thing about a 1/4, breaker bar. End up using it for clearness on a nut on a trailer. So never say never. Now that I don’t work at the place, no more. I haven’t touched it since. But it’s ready for the next time
yeah because it costs $85 a screwdriver. They can warranty you 14 new ones and they'd still make a profit
