Back in 1990 I bought a 1969 Olds Delta 88 it was a rust free southern car with a freshly rebuilt 455 Highway Interceptor engine and 400 Turbo-automatic transmission. loved having it as my daily driver for about3 and a half years. Until a man ran through a red light and hit the passenger side so hard it pushed the door and quarter panel in about a foot and a half, bent the frame too. It was rated a total loss by insurance. So I took the cash payout less the buy back and sold all good body suspension parts. While the mighty 455 engine and trans live on in a 1959 Oldsmobile my dad had bought. It was a solid low milage car with a stuck engine from sitting in a storage shed. It was repainted bright yellow with a white top to match my mother's 1959 Olds 98 convertible.
I had this exact car, same color. I was late to a wedding in Monterey and I put the pedal to the floor and did 115 mph the whole way from SSF. Made it just in time but I looked a bit funny in a suit with no undershirt.
