If I work a Fast Food restaurant, I want to do only one thing...the register. I worked at an Arby's for a hot minute around 2007-2008, and I hated making the sandwiches. Fry station was "OK", but where I truly enjoyed my time was at the cash register. Everyone else hates the register, but not me, LOL.

We used to put the onions on the meat after turning the meat for both hamburgers and Big Macs. I guess they changed that procedure because they don't flip the meat. We didn't use those circular cardboard rings.

At the McDonalds where I had worked, I was stuck doing the same tasks for years. But I kept asking management if they would move me to different roles to learn new skills. Managers acknowledged and said that they would. However, they would only move me for a few hours then ask me to go back to my current role even though I was beginning to be more comfortable with the new duties. Then they would not offer to me to do the new duties again even though I had asked.. Maybe I performed below their expectations in the first instance but it would have been nice if they would have given me more of a go so that I could continue to improve. Anyway when I left my role some time later (maybe months to a year later), one of the managers asked if it was because I was not being trained in other duties. It took them until I was leaving to mention the elephant in the room. I had found another job opportunity in the industry that I wanted (in which my college degree aligned) so that was the main reason. But I also knew that there would be no further development opportunities at the store when I had been with them through my college years. I just wished that managers at the McDonalds store that I was in were more accommodating and willing to help develop their staff.

You know this is old they don’t even have the “bin” anymore.
