This is the first section of our 28 day bike tour from Frankfurt to Venice via the Via Claudia Augusta in Aug-Sep 2024. We're riding normal - not e-bikes! And we're fully self-supported, carrying camping gear, although we also use some hotels.
In this episode Frank and I cover Day 1-4 after we fly into Frankfurt, reassemble our bikes and cycle from the airport. Our route follows the Main Radweg initially, joining the Tauber cycle path at Wertheim and reaching the small village of Tauberrettersheim in Bavaria. Our eventual goal is to reach the city of Donauworth where we will join the Via Claudia Augusta and follow that through the Alps and into Italy.
