You should make a video on the Burnaby mountain gondola, and the future extension of coquitlam to poco

Watching this from down in Seattle, where instead of building our Link light rail extensions along our Highway 99 (urban arterial) and rezoning for more and denser development, both north and south extensions are mostly adjacent to the I-5 freeways. Terrible walksheds, limited development opportunities. Because, politics. And cheaper to build along highway right-of-ways. Sigh. As usual, metro Vancouver does it right again.

Only budgeted at $1 billion. At 50,000 rides a day, that's only $55 per ride for the first year! If it has zero operational costs, that's only $5.50 per ride after 10 years! Doesn't seem very cost efficient.

Some of these old rail lines used to go underground , that’s why the sky train was finished so fast you have to line up three maps one of them is the old trolly map that has all the junction points layed on top of a sky train map and a third map but the trolly map shows the major entrances some aren’t there anymore but there is still access to the underground one entrance is below the seabus behind where the fire was but not worth going to some spots down there

We have no problem building super expensive skytrains (not a bad thing) I don’t know why this isn’t already going. The infrastructure is literally already there. Tracks and all. It would be the cheapest and easiest transit option to get going

This was last reviewed in 2021, and the cost was estimated at $1.8 billion CAD. It will never be built in our lifetime.

This is great and all for transit in general but people need to realize through this development that we are losing many affordable homes to be replaced with luxury suits that rarely ever end up actually being affordable Also we will be losing a lot of unique businesses only to be replaced with more generic ones that you see at all these mixed use development sites s bunch of dental offices and pizza shops we have enough of those most end up closing up shop permanently and not relocating prob due to high cost and most will probably see there property taxes skyrocket just like in other places in the region and all the ugly look alike town homes / row homes all these new buildings look the same all so bland with no character

It'll never go through because the rich people that live in these neighborhoods don't want the homeless drug addicts an easy way to get to where they live.

So that's why we had a delay going into Lougheed the other day when I was visiting vancouver. We stayed near Gilmore and rode from Gimore to Comercial and Broadway, Then Expoed to Science world, Then Expoed to Waterfront, took our 5 year old on Seabus, Then Expoed back around to Production way to Mellenium back to Gilmore because we thought that going this way gave our son more time on the train and beat rush hour passengers going out of town.

The future Surrey OMC has been found to be located at 17916 Fraser Highway as someone found the sale and transferred of the land title to the BC Transit Finance Corporation or something like that.

Accidental jab at Toronto with the bus bridge callout lol Scarborough subway isn't opening for another 3 years at least. It's bus bridges all the way til then.

Got a chance to pass by the site on Amtrak Cascades the other week. Was fun seeing bits of construction through the freight cars on the other side
